  • If I live in an unincorporated area, which police department services my area?

Ive just moved to Vincent, CA (an unincorporated area in Los Angeles county) but my zip code is 91722 (part of City of Covina). I ve contacted the neighboring cities police departments (Covina, West Covina, Azusa, Irwindale) but they all responded that they are not responsible for my area.

Does it mean that I am screwed if I needed to contact the police for non-emergency assistance?

  • Iphone keeps turningoff/restarting during backup.?

Hey everyone, I'm running in to a problem.

I am trying to backup my Iphone to my computer and every time the phone keeps restarting half way through the process. Before it restarts it freezes with the "storage almost full" message on the screen, then a couple minute later it reboots itself.

I have about ~300mb free memory on the phone. I can't free up memory because they are all from photos I synced to the device and an attempt at unsycing would still cause my phone to reboot.

  • How do I find the Limits of Integration in Joint Probability Distributions?

The specific problem I have is as follows:

    The joint-density function is f(x,y)=1/(x^2y^2) and U=XY V=X/Y

Find the marginal pdf's of U and V.

So first I found the joint pdf of U and V 1/(2u^2v). I know the formula to find the marginal pdf's but how can I find the limits of integration?

  • Can some one help me with this Physics question?

A disk of radius 26.0 cm is free to turn about an axle perpendicular to it through its center. It has very thin but strong string wrapped around its rim, and the string is attached to a ball that is pulled tangentially away from the rim of the disk. The pull increases in magnitude and produces an acceleration of the ball that obeys the equation a(t) = At , where t is in seconds and A is a constant. The cylinder starts from rest, and at the end of the third second, the ball's acceleration is 1.6 m/s^2.

Find the angular acceleration function of the disk with respect to time. Given A=0.5333m/s^2

  • Physics C Question 1 child 1 pulley?

Here's a question in my book I know the answers but I don't know how to solve it:

A child weighting 320N want to use a pulley to reach an apple in the tree. He tied a chair weighing 160N to one end of the pulley rope and sits on it. He pulls on the rope's other end until the spring scale he attached reads 250N.

a.) What's the magnitude and direction of acceleration of the system.

b.) What's the force excreted on the child by the chair.

The answers are 0.408m/s^2 upwards and 83.3N respectively.

  • AP Physics C HW Help?

Just a simple Mechanics question I couldn't do:

A particle travelling at 1.5 m/s in water decelerates. The acceleration (a) is proportional to the velocity (v) of the particle and is modeled by a= -3v^2. Find the time (t) when the velocity of the particle is cut in half.

Thanks to anyone who can answer this.

  • Error Message Before Computer Shutdown?

For the past 2 days everytime I try to shut down my computer an error message appears. The Message state that an application fails to startup and I should press ok to terminate it, after clicking ok the computer shuts down normally.

The message never specify what's the error nor what is the application that has the error so I really don't know where to start looking. I didn't download or install anything in the past few days nor visit any suspicious websites and I regularly check my computer for viruses.

I hope to solve this problem before any major problem happen to my computer.

Has anyone encountered such problems? Or have any possible solution to this? I don't want to take the computer to a repair shop if this is just a problem that I can solve. Thanks.
