I'm looking for a film which I watched probably about 12 years ago. I remember there being a young boy who took in a dog and they became really good friends. I think they found out that the real owner of the dog was a really horrible person (I remember him being a childrens entertainer as he was dressed as a clown at some point) so the boy made the dog run away so that he was safe. In the end I think they manage to get rid of the horrible owner and it was a happy ending? Sorry this is so vague but if anyone has any ideas I would be really grateful!

I was selling a book on ebay with the bidding starting at £12 and a buy it now price of £18. There has so far been one bid of £12 on the item but the buy it now option has totally disappeared. Can someone please explain this to me?

does that completely take it off the market or just end the auction earlier but it still goes to the highest bidder?
