  • Where to put bouquet that I bring to a university graduation ceremony to give?

I'm attending someone's graduation congregation where they hand out certificates on a stage. However, the audience are seated quite far away in the auditorium.

I'm going to be bringing a bouquet to give to my friend after, but during the duration of the ceremony, where am I supposed to put the bouquet?

Is there usually somewhere to put it? Like a table or something in the gathering/refreshments area after the ceremony? Or do I have to hold it during the entire 3 hour event?

Note: I won't be able to get close to the graduate until after the ceremony, they are seated in a completely different area.

  • What shoes to wear with this?

So for an event, I'm required to wear a purple dress shirt (it's a dark sort of 8 color crayon box purple crayon purple).

I've opted to wear dark blue skinny jeans.

I was going to wear boots but it's not that cold, so that brings me to the question of shoes. What color shoes should I wear? I'm thinking of Oxford shoes but don't know what color would match. I would prefer something like beige or brown or brown/white combo but not sure if brown and purple shirt looks ridiculous.

  • Has anyone used the Snowbus to get to Whistler (from Vancouver?)?

My friend told me the Snowbus is a good way to get to Whistler from Vancouver since my friends and I don't have cars or drive.

Has anyone tried them and know if they're any good? Reliability, etc.?

  • Using hockey roller skates for skating in the park?

I've been an ice skater for 10 years with hockey skates, recently I've taken up roller blading. However, I've been trying both fitness inline and hockey inline skates and I'm not sure what to buy..

I won't be playing hockey but I find them much easier to skate on in terms of control and maneuverability. The only problem is they don't have brakes.

I can hockey stop and slide stop with hockey rollers but I'm wondering if that's usable for every situation in the park?

Would I be better off going with fitness inline skates? I can't slide stop or hockey stop with these though and in general they're just harder for me to control...but they have the brake and that seems safer..

  • Earthquake in Japan + visiting soon?

Should I be worried about our trip in the end of April/early May to Japan because of this earthquake?

We're wondering if the chances of aftershock is good and whether we should forget the trip.

It's already paid though and we won't be able to get a refund but we might just have to suck it up.

  • Are stores/malls closed during Golden week in Japan?

We are thinking about taking a vacation during the Golden week in Japan in 2011 because that's the only week we have available.

I'm a bit concerned about what will be closed. Will we still be able to go to all the stores, restaurants, attractions like the zoo, Tsukiji and stuff like that? Or will everything be closed?

  • My dog ate half a stick of lip balm?

I phoned the vet and they said it's not toxic but I should expect to deal with diarrhea for 24-48 hrs.

My question is, when does it start? My dog ate the lip balm about 12 hrs ago and she's had 2 normal poops after that. No diarrhea yet. Should I be expecting it tomorrow morning?

Also, she didn't eat the plastic, so there's not obstruction or tearing concern.

  • My dog ate one persimmon seed, will she be ok?

My dog accidently ate one persimmon seed that I left in a paper towel plus some persimmon skin.

From what I've read persimmon seeds can cause obstructions and inflammation of the intestines.

Will she be ok without going to a vet? How high are the chances that the seed will cause inflammation?

  • Is it normal to eat half a large pizza in one sitting?

I can always eat a LOT or so it seems compared to other people. I'm a 19 yr old girl, 5' 6" and 120 lbs. I often eat 1/2 a large pizza in 30 min. Or eat a 1/2 lb beef burger with double cheese, a tray of fries and a piece of cheese cake.

Is this normal? I'm not gaining any weight by the way. I've eaten like this for at least 9 yrs.

    Can you eat this much?
