  • Souldn't North America be proud of it's hockey accomplishment?

I'm seeing a lot of US this and Canada that....and it was a great gold medal game, I don't think the US over performed at all, they are all NHL'ers and IMO should be a near favorite every year, but why are so many stuck on the nationality of it instead of being proud of North American hockey?

Both countries are winners, and the fans sound like whiners (or bad winners or sore losers). Great for a sport that I wish had a bigger market!

  • Do you think I found "God"?

Many years ago, in a troubled state I went out in search of "God". I went to one of my favorite places, a nice pond with a walking path, no road and always quiet. I looked and looked, at one point I gave up, near the end of the walk I came to a sunny opening and a great feeling of comfort swept over me, wish I could have that feeling everyday. To my surprise I felt that I did succeed, it is possible I found what I was looking for....was it "God"?

It did not change my outlook, I still question the wacko religions, I don't go to church, I frown on the preaching bible thumpers, but am happy in my minimal understanding of "things". We are animals with conscious and reason, ultimately our genetic code tells us to breed, further the species, and on the way we chose a path...good or evil.

Honestly the universe is too complex and big for me to fathom and it's origins are even more staggering and I don't try but I know this, evolution is truth, some things will happen no matter what, and free will generally directs choices and paths, not God.....my rant for the day.

  • Do you think 10+% unemployment was inevitable regardless of the "party in control"?

Yes, I know, true unemployment is probably >17%, add in the under employed, welfare collectors, and the number gets much bigger, but I see the rhetoric, and since this is the greatest financial crisis since the depression, don't you think unemployment would be where it is now regardless of who is in control? Why is anyone surprised by the high number?

  • Early 80's metal song with the phrase- The End of the World?

    Not REM

Maybe, since I've seen so many really vague posts here get answered, I might actually get this old question resolved as some people know the answers with so little information.

Early to mid 80's, there was a song with the phrase "The End of the World" repeated many times, I can remember the guitar progression but I've never been able to find it. Not that it's my style anymore, but it's a song that made radio play, singer was sort of "operatic". It would answer a long standing question.

    Thanks,
