I'm write a historical fiction piece for my Apush class but this section sounds so odd :/. I've been trying to fix it for for the longest time but i think it;s getting worse. Please help!!!(BTw this is set in the early 1900's)

As children, we used to run around with our friends, making the roads and the sidewalks of New York our playground. We would entertain ourselves by playing marbles or hopscotch, by spinning our small, wooden peg tops or competing in silly contests. We reaped havoc on our neighbors back then. We would knocking on their front doors and and quickly scurrying away before we got caught. We would run away, laughing and screaming in glee. It’s funny to me now how clever we thought we.We had no reason to terrorize them but we did it anyways. We did it just because it was the fun, just because we were kids.

I was usually one of the few girls-- sometimes the only girl-- that would come out and play. My boyish ways made me unique from all the other girls that liked busying themselves by sewing or helping their mothers prepare meals. My behavior separated me from them and I loved it because i enjoyed being different.

I've noticed that older people are pretty set in their ways. Whether it be about interracial marriage, women's rights or gays they aren't too accepting. I know this is a generalization but it seems accurate for the most part.

I'm a 16 year old christian girl ('bout to be 17 later this month!) that is not against gay right. I've grown up in the church and understand that in the bible God speaks of homosexuality as a sin. However i find myself conflicted.

In the bible it is mentioned that slavery was acceptable and that women were--for the lack of a better word-- servants for their husbands. I strongly doubt that God i love and trust agrees with these things. I wonder then if he is also as against gays as we believe he is.

I do believe that being gay is a sin however i don't think they will go to hell for being homo. I support them and their fight to get what i think are their innate rights. In my opinion, they should be able to get married, have/ adopted kids, and get whatever other benefits any other person has. No one should have the right to dictate the way someone else lives their life-- it just doesn't seem fair.

I feel like the church has kind of twisted Gods words into something it isn't and has taken up the role of a bully, mandating and belittling anyone that has a view that doesn't exactly align with our beliefs. Ironically, doing this goes against every thing i have learned about God and his love for ppl.

I understand that me calling homosexuality a sin will offend many. On the flipside, I understand that support gays will make many others angry too. However this is how i really believe. What do you guys thing? What is your opinion on this whole thing? THXS

I've been assigned to write a 5-8 page short story about a fictional character that lived in america anywhere between 1607-2000 during some major event. So basically i have alot of wiggle room to work with :). within these 5-8 pages we have to write a story covering our characters child,teen and early 20's life during this major event(s)and how our character is effected during this events (our teach gave us the example of an irish immigrant coming over to america during the potato famine.) I'm actually pretty stoked for this project but have no idea what time period i should do. Any ideas? THXS

Whenever i solve this question ( or any other that has the same number in both places ex- c(3,3) C(10,10) C(25,25) ) using the equation i always get 0 as the answer. However, i'm almost positive that i'm wrong. Can you show me/explain to me what i'm doing wrong? THXS

I really want to take a math over the summer so i can be a little ahead and wanted to know if taking precal over the summer would be a smart thing to do. Is the material completely new or is it basically a review over past material and concepts we learned in past class? Some of my friends are just going to skip over pre cal and just go straight to calculus but i'm not completely comfortable with that option so that why i thought doing precal over the summer would probably be the best compromise. What do u guys think?

Okay so i'm studying for a test tomorrow and i'm in the progess of doing a review packet we were told to do. I'm completely floored on how to do these two questions.

2[x] = 3[x-1]

and

8[2x-1] = 11 [x+8]

I'm pretty sure i'm doing the first steps correctly...--->

(for the first one) log2[x] = log3 [x-1]--> (x)log2 = (x-1)log3

(and for the second one) log8[2x-1] = log11[x+8]---> (2x-1)log8 = (x+8)log11

but from there i'm utterly and completely lost. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

I'm a junior this year and have really started considering what i want to become in the future. I LOVE working with kids and have some experience (Babysitting, working at church nursery). I have recently been really thinking about going into a teaching career (more specifically elementary teacher) but i have to ask the question... Is becoming a teacher worth it? The money, will i be okay financially? I know that money isn't everything and i'm not looking to live in a mansion but i want to live comfortably and in a good neighborhood. I would like to hear honest opinions from teachers or anyone else that is familiar with the career.
