You've got answers, I've got questions.

  • Dual monitors are giving me a headache?

I recently set up dual monitors for my PC at home and they're literally giving me a headache. Both monitors are LCD, one has a refresh rate of 60hz, the other one can be set to 60hz or 75hz. I've used each monitor individually for a long periods of time and never head a problem. I also use dual screens at work and never had a problem with them there.

The monitor on my right is a Dell 1908FP UltraSharp Black 19-inch Flat Panel Monitor 1280X1024 with Height Adjustable Stand.

The monitor on my left is a Flatron E2041T-BN 20" LED LCD Monitor - 16:9 - 5 ms.

I've tried tinkering with the color, brightness, refresh rate and distance of the monitors, nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?

  • Should I use two compressor pedals for my guitar?

I'm thinking about getting two compressor pedals, one for the beginning of my effects chain and one at the end. I'll probably keep the one at the end on most of the time for the sake of reigning in my signal. Then I'll switch to the one in front of the chain when I want to get more kick from my distortion and overdrive pedals. And maybe I'll experimental with using both compressors at the same time, occasionally. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  • Racist psychotherapist?

For the past few months, I've been seeing a psychologist for anxiety. Thankfully, I feel I'm really making progress under his care. I've tried numerous psychologists in the past, but the one I'm going now to really seems to know what he's doing and have the solutions I've been looking for.

The only problem is he's racist towards a particular ethnic group. He told me that everyone that particular race is really crazy due to the social circumstances in which they grow up.

It's a double edge sword. My roommates, whom I've had many difficulties with, are of this particular race, and it's reassuring to hear my psychologist inform me that I'm not the one with the problem, they are. But when I talk about wanting to date someone of that ethnic background, he warns me that I better not. He tells me that those women are crazy, bitchy, pscyho, materialistic, etc. That really depresses me because I find those women to be very attractive and quite kind and friendly, Also, I live in a very ethnically diverse city and if I were to only date white women, that that would severely limit my dating options in an already highly competitive dating scene.

This really bothers me, because I want to trust in him and believe in what he tells me, yet I can't accept his strong views on race as facts. He once told me about "black and white thinking" and "all or nothing thinking" are both forms of Cognitive Distortion. Isn't his view that all people of this particular race are crazy an example of those?

What should I do? Take the good with the bad or think about searching for a new therapist? The latter option is really depressing, because I went to dozens of other psychologists before this guy and none of them were able to help me like this guy.

  • When backing iTunes up to an external hard drive, is it better to delete the existing iTunes folder?

I already backed up my iTunes library to my external hard drive awhile ago, but I've added a lot more music since. Should I delete the older folder entirely or should I just copy the recently added files to it? It seems a lot easier to simply delete the old one, because I don't get bombarded with "duplicate files" messages. Will doing so repeatedly fragment the heck out of my WD external drive? My iTunes collection is nearly 100 gb large.

  • Am I the only one who's feeling overwhelmed by all the music services to choose from?

Between iTunes, Google Music, Amazon, eMusic, Pandora, Last.fm, Spotify, Grooveshark, I Heart Radio, etc, my head is spinning with all the choices for listening. Is anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed by the smorgasbord of music services available these days? It almost makes me long for the days of vinyl.

  • Will one bite of food interact with my Levothyroxine?

I forgot to take my Levothyroxine (Synthroid) this morning and wound up taking a bite of a sausage pancake sandwich before remembering. Immediately thereafter, I took my pill with a large glass of water. Is that one bite of food going to screw up my body's absorption of Levothyoxine?

  • What's the legality of discarding my CD's while keeping the MP3's on my computer?

I've got a ton of CD's that I've amassed over the years that are doing nothing but taking up space and collecting dust. I've imported my entire music library onto my computer and iPod and I simply have no use for the actual discs anymore. But I've been holding onto the CD's for so long, because I consider them kind of a "proof of purchase". For example, if I were to get a call from a record company's attorney accusing me of stealing music, I could be like, "Nuh-uh, I've got the discs to prove it."

But lately, I've been thinking of getting rid of the CD's though by either selling them or throwing them away. Again, all they do is take up space. Do I have to worry about any legal problems if I get rid of them but keep the music files on my computer? Do record companies still sue the pants off individuals in this age of iTunes and Spotify?

  • Can his parents sue me?

I came home from work Friday and there were some kids with skateboards doing jumps off my porch. Just as I was telling them to leave, one of them did a jump off the porch and landed on his arm on the sidewalk and broke his arm. Can the boy's parents sue me since it happened on my property?

  • How come all my friends that were "playa's" in their 20's wound up marrying unattractive women?

It almost seems like some kind of weird karma. These guys used to have a different hot chick every week. Now they've wound up marrying women I don't find the least bit attractive. Did they get their fill of banging hot ones or something?
