I have an upcoming hearing for a workers comp case. The lawyer representing my employer has told me over the phone that they are agreeing to pay, but the hearing is still necessary because there s a duplicate case and there were some mix-ups and miscommunication involved.

I was out approximately 1 month and only make $11 hourly, so the actual workers compensation amount probably doesn t justify hiring a lawyer.

My question though - is can a lawyer legally lie and claim they re agreeing to pay the medical bills prior to a hearing, and then try to sandbag the employee at the hearing itself by claiming employee is ineligible for workers comp?

I had a friend film a video for me and somehow the footage got saved or converted into a .DAT file

It's 3.97 GB large so I can't open it with a notepad or word file, and i tried to find a program that would convert it but to no avail. Anyone have suggestions?

I showed up for a court date the other day, it was for driving with a suspended license. My license was suspended because I hadn't done my vehicle emissions inspection, and I hadn't received anything in the mail. After I got the ticket, I immediately got the inspection done and was told that if I go to court, I could save some money off of the ticket.

So I went to court, and the citing officer didn't show up. The judge called me up and asked "You are charged with driving with a suspended license - How do you plea?" and a little bit thrown off/confused - I paused and said "Guilty" at which point she reiterated and said "There is nobody here to tell me that you did anything wrong. How do you plea?" So I took the hint and said "Not Guilty" and left free of any charges.

That's all good & dandy, but I lied. I know that I lied, and the judge knows that I lied, and frankly, I didn't GO to court just so I could lie. I went to court so I could try to explain that I didn't receive notice in the mail, and to tell them what I have done to rectify the situation and hope that I could get the case dismissed honestly.

I just don't understand the point of even asking me how I plea in this particular predicament. If the cop isn't there, it would seem more logical to me to just immediately dismiss it if it's going to have that result anyway

My issue with this problem is more-so about the charges than the reaction -

I understand that Cu + AgNO_3 ==> CuNO_3 + Ag

my issue has to do with the charges. Based on the information given, how am I expected to know whether the charge of Copper is +2 and not +3? The "correct" Answer is

Cu + 2AgNO_3 ==> Cu(NO_3)_2 + 2Ag

But if the charge of copper was +3, the answer would be

Cu + 3AgNO_3 ==> Cu(NO_3)_3 + 3Ag

I don't see how the second one could be considered wrong when the charge of the copper ion is never specified

I'm not looking for a range, I'm looking for an approximation. I know the number can vary between billions to trillions, but I'm having trouble finding a source online that states what the average number of stars in a given galaxy is

I'm bored at the moment, and have this intrinsic desire to play a game of some kind - but I don't have any consoles these days.

Essentially what I'm looking for is a sports game or a fighting game that has one of the quintessential storyline modes where you're an absolute nobody and you have to work your way up to the top.

I really like the old Def Jam games and NBA Ballers or even WWE games - I'm just looking for something new with a compelling storyline mode that can be played on PC. Any suggestions?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 with a functioning screen and a Toshiba Satellite P855 which I stepped on some time ago, and all of the colors are inverted. I'd attempt to replace or fix the inverter board, but it looks to me like replacing the entire screen (if possible) would be much simpler

The A505 (I believe) has an LTN160AT01 screen and the P855 has an LP156WH4

but honestly, I don't know enough about either to know whether or not I could replace the LP156WH4 with the LTN160AT01 on my P855 and have it function properly

what's mainly throwing me off is that the denominator doesn't have an x^1 term. So I added 0x, giving me

(x^2 + 4x - 3) / (x^2 + 0x - 3)

the denominator goes into the numerator 1 time, and the x^2 and -3 both cancel out, leaving me with a remainder of 4x

so my final answer is 1 + (4x / (x^2 - 3))

Can anyone confirm this?

I presently work with a pool company. It is conventional for ALL pool companies in the area to lay off their employees during the winter (around November - February/March). I work 40+ hours, but I would like to take a 2nd - lesser paying job - because rent in Maryland is rather expensive relative to other states -

My issue is if I take the 2nd job, I -KNOW- I'm going to get laid off in the winter from my first job. My second job isn't going to pay enough to support me by itself. I also *want* to collect unemployment during the winter season because I would like to go back to school full time for one semester without having to deal with added time constraints of work

So the only solution I see is for me to *resign* from my 2nd job, before getting laid off by my pool job. My concern is whether or not this will compromise my ability to collect unemployment since they'll know that I resigned from my 2nd job a few weeks earlier

Let me preface by saying that I'm very much a novice, so if you use any commonly used acronyms in regards to electronics, please explain what it means.

I bought Make: Electronics by Charles Platt, as well as 2 starter kits that are supposed to complement the book. I assembled everything as it instructed me to, such as making sure that the long end of the LED is attached to the side with the resistor - and I cut the wires myself and wrapped the exposed part around the back of the screw and then screwed them in

but the LED isn't turning on. It isn't even shorting. It's just doing nothing. I have 3 rolls of wire - one is black, one is red, and one is yellow. I used the black one because I assumed the only difference was the color of the insulation, so I can't see how this would be the problem. I tried this once using the 20 gauge and once using the 22. Neither worked for me

I have a pro world heat press and imagejet opaque paper. I peeled the back off, used the default settings, and nothing transferred. The paper just stuck to the top of the heat press. I also tried to increase the pressure and lowered the time from the recommended settings, and still no luck.

The only thing i can see is that on the instructions it says "cover with a pressing sheet"

I'm not sure what a pressing sheet is, and i tried googling it, but the results are semi-ambiguous.

I'm 23, turning 24 in a couple months. All of my relationships have been relatively short lived. Ranging from about 3 months to 8 months, being the longest. The thing is, with all of my past relationships, I've managed to find a reason to break up with the girl that wasn't completely shallow. Now, I feel like I'm in a relationship, and as a person, she's almost perfect. She's thoughtful, intelligent, pretty, and far too good for me...but the reality is that it doesn't take too long for me to get bored of it sexually.

I have never cheated on any of my girlfriends, nor would I ever. I would never deceive any of my partners or hurt them in that manner. Usually around now, I just have a good reason to end the relationship, and I never want to hurt them, but despite the fact that they all claimed to be just as head over heels in love, they all move on, and they all do just fine without me. And I'm okay with that, because it allows me to move on. But now, it's more-so that I just really don't like feeling constrained and stuck with one girl. I feel like my ideal would be a somewhat open relationship. Of course, I've sort of brought it up with my girlfriend, and she doesn't like the idea. We've only been dating for about 5 months, but it's moved to a level of being extremely serious. As all of my relationships do. But whether or not I have commitment issues, I don't know. I DO know that I want to have a child at some point in my life. When that will be, who knows, but it is a biological urge that I would prefer to have a kid.

I'm just sort of confused as to what to do, or even think. Part of me doesn't want to end what I have, but part of me just wants to be free to do whatever I want to do

This is in regards to a friend of mine who is a college student and lived in a co-op. There were 7 people living in the house, the maximum allowed on the lease is 5. One of them seemed to be mentally unstable and a threat to the others, so they asked him to move out. Upon moving out, he snitched to the landlord and stated 2 people were living in the basement.

Long story short, the landlord came over without giving 24 hours notice and went through the house while nobody was there. I do not see how, under any definition of the word, this constitutes as an emergency, and I feel like they should be able to file for harassment charges

My employer sent my W2 to the wrong address, so I had to get a copy and just filed my taxes with turbotax today (the april 15th deadline)
