I bought a Ball Python yesterday to go along with my other assortment of creatures. Its the first one i've bought and i would rather get advice from people with experience rather than the petsmart people hired off the street. I just got him last night and i think i've got his cage set up as perfectly as possible right now with the basking area and overall temp and humidity. About an hour ago he ate a decent size fuzzy and retreated to his hiding spot on the warm side which leads me to believe his environment is comfortable enough for him. I know you are not supposed to handle them long before or after a feeding. Before so he wont get use to seeing your hand at dinner time... and after because he may still be in rage mode. How many days after a feeding should i wait to hold him? I just got him and he seemed neglected by the employees so i would like to continue getting him use to being held. I got him last night and apparently nobody has handled him or tried to feed him since a week from wednesday. I'm just trying to get some idea's of the best way to take care of him since it is my first snake.
