Hello, my name is McKenna and I am a 15 year old female. On January 9th I spiral fractured both my Tibia and Fibula. It was a really, really bad break- but since all the pieces of my leg were lined up correctly we decided on casting it before trying surgery. The cast didn't end up doing anything for me, so I went into surgery on January 25th and had a metal plate and 9 screws put in my leg to hold the Tibia together (the Fibula we left alone to heal itself, my ortho wasn't worried about it at all). It's been quite awhile since surgery, I have started physical therapy and my therapist says I'm doing wonderful on ankle movement and that I couldn't be anymore ahead of schedule. I went to see my doctor yesterday afternoon and be said that my body isn't laying down enough new bone tissue fast enough so, it will be four more weeks and then we can re x-ray and I will hopefully be walking by then. This is a disappointment, because the last time I was at the doctor (my doc. was out and I had to see a P.A) the P.A. told me I would be walking by now.

Also, last summer my knees started hurting very very badly. I started seeing a doctor at my usual practice. He monkeyed around with my knees only to tell me that I needed to take an anti inflammatory and see him in two weeks. About the 5th visit in, I was growing impatient, my knees were hurting more then ever and I wanted to return to playing tennis and dancing for theatre. He said he would order me an MRI and never did. When I was at the doctor yesterday, he took one look my knees and moved them and asked me about certain pain levels when he did certain things and it took him 5 minutes to diagnose me with Patella Knee Tendinitis and prescribe me a special brace I have to get fit to me leg next week.

I just feel like my body is failing me. I haven't been able to do anything normal or play sports. Everything is just horrible. I just want to know, has anybody else had similar issues? How did you cope? What should I expect in my future treatment of my tendinitis?

I am finishing up my freshman year in a few months and I find, I'm starting a lot more typed and researched papers in high school and teachers sort of expect all students to have computers. Currently, I'm using my mom's desktop, but it is stuck in the 90's and doesn't do everything I need it too, plus I want my own computer that is only for my files.

Things I'm looking for in a laptop or preferably a net-book are:

-I want it to last me for awhile. At least part way through college.

-Updated Microsoft Word

-Maybe a power point program

-CD Rom and DVD drive (mostly just the CD Rom drive though)

-Ability to use Itunes

- Lightweight

-Portable

-WiFi

-Enough memory to store my documents, music, photos, and videos

-Webcam

-Good battery life

I don't care if all of those are covered, but it would be preferable. Also, it needs to have spam and virus protection. I had a very old laptop get eaten by viruses and also a desktop fail..

Jace Royce had grown up in the midst of war and violence, so when the alarm rung in the middle of the S.S. Genevieve’s Sunday morning mass it was no surprise for her to hear that the planet Larousse’s Queen Emalee was dead. The congregation of space cadets filed out of the onboard cathedral and started taking their places upon the ship. Their new charted course was headed to Larousse. It was a standard regulation procedure of the academy to investigate any deaths of royals or officials, but it was new to the group of space cadets. Jace quickly changed from her church uniform into the deep green cadet uniform she was required to wear for professional duty. Before Jace left her musty cabin she remembered to pin on the Captains’ pin she had been given at her last promotion ceremony.

It had only taken Jace two years to advance through four rankings. She was smart and the academy knew it as well as she did, but then again Jace wasn’t just a normal girl. As the daughter of the leader of the new world’s government, Overheid van Veir Plantren, it was her duty to perform well and always show courage and honor. It was her turn to captain the S.S. Genevieve and help stop the war that was breaking out on Larousse. Jace knew it was her turn to be a hero.

On her way down to the Captain’s deck, she could feel the stares of all the cadets on her. Nobody had really welcomed Jace into the academy, but she didn’t need friends or supporters- that wasn’t what she came to Alexandra’s Space Academy for. In her mind, friends just turned into the enemies that would try and hold you down from accomplishing your dreams. What was even scarier then the hundred pair of skeptical eyes on her was that her dad would also be assisting in the Larousse rescue mission. He was her biggest judge and harshest critic.

Jace had never really realized how big the captain’s deck was until she reached it and sat down in her captain’s chair. “Cadet Private Faye, are we reaching the destination?” Jace asked in her most professional voice.

“We are about to warp into Larousse in 3.. 2.. 1..” Faye answered back, his eyes not leaving the map screen as the ship jolted into the boundaries of Larousse.

Everything about Larousse was quiet and eerie. Not at all what one would expect from a suspected war zone. “Cadet Sergeant Janelle, where are the enemy ships? I would have expected we would warp into a fire zone. All I see is stars and a planet that has lost a queen peacefully. Turn on the radar and start searching for hidden enemy ships. Cadet Corporal Haylii, make sure all weapons are loaded with firepower. I’ll steer us in the Larousse loading base.”

okay so this was started last night with a little inspiration of some old star trek episodes and too much red bull. I'm not sure about how i feel about it yet, maybe its something ill continue writing on and maybe it sucks so bad that i should stop. I am usually a good writer but lately my mind has been in off mode and this is the first thing I've written in months. constructive criticism please!

Hello! I have recently come into the possession of a very old copy of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. It is in German because it came from Germany while a relative of mine was serving in the army for Germany. I don't speak German at all despite my heritage. The book is a dark navy blue. on the outside it has an eagle attached to a wreath sort of thing and inside that is a swastika.On the inside of the front cover it says something that looks like "instead 1945" but it looks like its been hand wrote in there. If I flip the page twice on the left hand side is a picture of Hitler with his signature under it. There is a little thin rice paper thing between this and the right side of the page. On the right side it has the title then the word "bon" (?) with Adolf Hitler under that. the rest of the page is filled with German. On the bottom it says F.E.N with an eagle separating the letters so that the F is at the top the E is to the left and the N is to the right. Beneath this is the date 1934. On the back of this paper is more German writing. There is two dates in this "Copnright band 1 1925, Band 2 1927" is what it looks like. I tried to post a picture link with this post . I'm trying to find out when this edition of the book came out and about how much money it's worth. Thank you! Any help would be great!

I'm looking to take up figure skating as a hobby and maybe something more. I want my own pair of figure skates and the brand I've found that is most affordable is Riedell. However, I cannot seem to find a store that sells them in store and I guess I'll have to order online. I don't know what size to get, but in normal shoe I wear about a 9 or a 10. Maybe sometimes a 9.5.

Also, would it be possible at my age of 14 to actually get somewhere competitively in skating?

well, i am 14 and a freshman.. I have quite a bit of theatre and acting expeirience under my belt. Enough I believe to call myself an actress. I have never been turned down by a director and have always got a part in a show. (im not trying to sound conceited) recently, i auditioned for 'the secret garden' i was one of the 5 or 6 freshman to make it to a callback but in the end i didnt make it into the small cast of 28. I dont know if i should continue my stage career now and call it quits. I know somebody is bound to think this question is dumb but really, this has been a huge blow to my confidence. :/ i just dont want to build myself up on something that im no good or wont sucseed at. i have recently left my k-8 school for highschool. At my highschool i have become deeply involved in theatre and i wish that my middle school had a stronger theatre program seeing as it is something that i have always done as a child and i couldnt really be involvedthrough school. So i have decided to write my k-8 school about trying to start a theatre program and a stronger one at that. But i know that doing a musical costs a lot of money for royalities to the play and music and such. Can someone help me figure out where to get the royalities to some kid friendly musicals or plays and give me an estimate for how much they will cost? thank you and god bless

well im looking for a baby girl name even though im 14 and not pregnant. the 'baby' is supposed to be part of a set of triplets. The requirements are that: 1. The first name has to be european or a city in europe (off limits are paris or london and already used european names are ana and adrijana) 2. The first middle name needs to be very unique. Something you wouldnt expect. 3. i was watching the kathy griffen show (life on the d list) tonight.. And this whole gay right marrige movement really spoke to me tonight. I myself am not gay but i have both close friends and family who are. kathy griffen totally proved the point that you dont have to be homosexual to support gay marrige.. and this story about matthew shepard really moved me. I really just have to ask who else has walked in rallys and spoke out against the gay marrige issue that isnt gay?what have you done to oppose the issue and what do you think about it? and for those who dont want gay marrige why do you oppose it? and how would it affect you if gays were allowed to be married? really? thankyou --a concerned citizen
