what about me?

  • What are you thoughts/opinions about waiters who address the table like this?

"Hi there, my name is ____. What can I get for us today?"

    Or

    "How are we doing today?"

I am a waiter and today I had a customer complain about the way I asked them what they wanted. They weren't mad, but they were extremely weirded out by it enough to complain to my manager. My manager wasn't too taken back by it, since it's really not a big deal. I just want to know if anyone else is offended by the words "we" and "us" when talking to a table. If you are a server or have worked as a server, I want to know your thoughts too. Thank you.

  • Why is the Lion the royal symbol for England?

How did the Lion become the symbol for England when England is far from the Lion's natural habitat in Africa?

What was the logic behind the symbolism of a lion? I'm sure you know the meaning of the symbolism of the lion: courage, honour, nobility, etc...but how were these terms attributed to a lion and not some other creature?

  • What's the worst thing that could happen if there was no more internet in the world?

Let's be hypothetical for a minute. If the internet suddenly went out, and there was no possible way of getting the internet back, what's the worst that could happen?

(Yes, I've seen that episode on South Park) But what do you think would happen?

  • Poll-Which do you hate more: Order or Chaos?

If you hate one, then you will prefer the other. "Both" and "neither/none" are not answers for this question, because you either have chaos when there is no order or you have order without chaos. Also, what is the reasoning behind your choice? =)

  • What is a creeper...?

I'm a man, and this one dating website I'm on has a section for women to write about what kind of men they want to message them, and often I see on there, "Please don't message me if you are a creeper."

Right off the bat, I'm thinking, "Like a Spooky person on Halloween?"

Or, maybe they don't want someone that likes creepy crawly things like bugs, lizards, snakes, etc...

So what exactly is a creeper? How would you define it?

  • How do you public officials handle constant threats?

This is something that I've been wondering. I'm planning on getting into City Administration, and I was wondering about the public officials that get offended people harassing them through email, phone, in-person protest, etc. I know many upset people will go out of their way to make the public official's life miserable until that person is no longer in office. So what do you do in these situations?

Carry a firearm at all times? Hire a security guard? Blackmail? Basically, how do you get someone to stop harassing you?

  • Survey: How often do you change what you wear?

*side note* I sure hope this question doesn't get deleted by the troll who comes out and deletes all questions in the P&S group. Does anyone know if Y!A stopped the troll?

So, back the question. My answer: I change my shirt every 2-3 days if it stays clean, and I might wear the same jeans for a week. The only thing I change out everyday is my socks and undies. I thought of this question as I did laundry today. I wonder how long other people wear their clothes.

  • If you could think of a new name for your country, what would it be called?

    Just a hypothetical question.

My answer: I'm American, and my country's national animal is the bald eagle. So I was thinking about Eagland. Eagle + Land = Eagland. Its perfect because it sounds like the England, the country we budded off from.

  • Is this nothing to worry about or should i seek help?

I have trouble speaking clearly sometimes. I get words jumbled around in my head and sometimes when it makes sense in my head, it comes out really choppy when I speak. Also, for some reason, its hard for me to do mental math, especially subtraction. Im 21 years old, and I haven't spoken to any of my family or friends about this. Its been getting worse over the years. My college professor caught on to it and says that it could be a mental disorder. The earliest of this I can remember was back when I was in high school, about 15. Should I consult someone?

  • If i join the navy, will they attempt to almost drown me as part of the training?

I hear they almost drown the candidates training to become navy seals. Is that a part of normal training? Does it apply only for seals, or for all navy training? I heard that they make you swim laps until you almost drown, but if you do they have medics standing by just in case. I ask because although I want to get in the navy, I have a fear of drowning/suffocation.

  • Why doesn't my girlfriend want to be physically intimate anymore?

Me and my girl have been dating for 3 weeks. The first week, we were physically intimate for 6 days in a row, making out as much as 3 times a day. Now, she hardly wants to do anything like that, but she still wants to date me. She says that making out is "so boring" and that "its too monotonous," so she holds out on me. Now that we are 3 weeks into a relationship she wont even touch me. =/

Is this how alot of normal relationships are? Or Should I find someone that likes physical intimacy as much as I do? (My first gf and I dated 4 months and we made out ALL the time and enjoyed it. My new gf doesn't really care for it)

Any advice on what I can do to get her to want to be physical with me again?

  • Is it ethically wrong for me to work in two competing companies?

I'm not getting enough hours at my first job. I've told my boss that I can't make ends meet. They are not able to increase my hours, so I have been talking with another rival company. They offered me almost twice as much as my first job, but this would be part time. I've told my boss and the 2nd company that I would like to keep both jobs.

Would this cause a bad situation, working for two competing companies? Is this bad work ethics?

Please give me advice. Should I take the 2nd job that pays more money, or try to find work elsewhere?
