  • Is my outhouse adequate from a fire safety point of view to run a nursery? (UK)?

I want to run a nursery from home, I have considered all the regulatory pieces and have only one main concern.

I want to run the nursery out of an outhouse at the end of my garden which is fully compliant itself.... however my house is a terraced house and therefore you would need to go through the house to get to the road. Considering that the nursery activities would mainly be run from the outhouse, would this be deemed inadequate from an access point of view?

The house would be accessible at all times to children and the staff.

  • Fluid in the uterus?

My wife and I have been going through donor egg IVF as she suffered early menospause in her early 20s, our first attempt was successful and we have a gorgeous 1 year old girl who was born from c section.

We have 5 frozen embryos to use however when we have gone for scans my wife has had fluid in the uterus that has not fully cleared up with progesterone. Therefore the clinic advised that she have a hysteroscopy to get rid of any scarring that was caused when her c section was performed, this was performed and the fluid went down but was still there. They decided to do another hysteroscopy, this time the surgeon advised that there was no scarrring at all. Therefore leaving us with the question of why the fluid is there? Her falopian tubes are not blocked and there is no scarring so what else could it be?

My most recent thought on this is that my wife has a high bmi of 29 which is one away from obese, could this be a reason for the fluid accumulating?

  • Maternity - returning to work case - what are our rights? - UK?

My partner and I had a our first child last year, my partner has a very convientinet low paid office job in our local area.

Upon returning to work she asked if she could go three days a week, the company agreed that she could have a trial period for 3 months on these hours. She went back and it was all working out, the three months passed and she asked her manager if there was anything she needed to do contractually now that the three months had passed to which he shrugged . So we could only assume that this was a permanent arrangement so my mother decreased her hours to two days a week to look after our daughter the days my partner went to work. However, recently, over a month after the 3 month trial expiring, my partners manager said that she will need to increase her hours, and gave her the feeling that it would be a situation where she either leaves or increases hours.

I understand that she is technically unprotected given the contract situation, however I would like to know what her rights are in this situation. Is there any liability on the employers part in not arranging a new contract? Is she entitled to a redundency payout?

Any help on this would be appreciated

    Thanks

  • Should I re-start hormone replacement therapy after being declared 12 weeks pregnant?

I have had early menopause and therefore have been taking hormone replacement therapy (femoston). My husband and I went through ivf and I am now 12 weeks pregnant and am delighted. The doctors took me off femoston and put me on progesterone and progenova until 12 weeks, after which I could stop taking all medication.

I asked the doctors if after the 12 week period I ahold go back on femoston or alternative hormone replacement theorpy (HRT) after 12 weeks. However they gave very vague answers, I am now unsure if i should be taking femoston or other HRT and the associated pros and cons of taking or not taking. Could someone shed some light on the subject?

  • Does the UK media play down trump's popularity?

I live in London and am very interested in the US election. All I ever hear from the uk media is how terrible trump is. Also they are consistently reporting that trump is being battered in the polls and in debates. However after watching the two debates I feel it was pretty equal.

Americans. Please tell me the truth??

Is the uk media playing down something like they did with brexit?

  • Are our children at risk of having cistic fibrosis?

My wife and I are planning to have children, my wife informed me that she is a carrier of the cistic fibrosis gene, so after reading about cistic fibrosis do you sided to also get my jeans checked for any mutation . The doctor then called me once my results were in and said that I did not have a full mutation of the cistic fibrosis gene, however I do have a partial mutation of the cistic fibrosis gene. She said it may be that our children would have no chance of having cistic fibrosis and it was best to see a specialist on what the chances would be. We are waiting for an appointment but it is taking a very long time to get one. I have tried reading on the internet about this but can't find any reference to a partial mutation. Would anyone be able to give me more information on this?

  • My girlfriend uses the floor as a wardrobe. Am I being unreasonable asking her to put them in the wardrobe?

So me and my girlfriend recently moved in together, I own the flat, which I was renting out. I now want to sell the flat and have moved in for six months to trial living together.

My girlfriend has generally been good living with me, I work long hours in the city and she has a local 9-5 job so she does all the cooking, washing and cleaning. I help on the weekends and sometimes do the washing up in the week.

We have a very open and honest relationship and we have both sacrificed a lot to be together. My girlfriend has this one ridiculous OCD thing - that is, she does not use the wardrobe and puts all her clothes on the floor. This is not a bad habit but something she intends to do and will not compromise on this. I tell my friends how nice it is living with her and when they see all the clothes on the floor they look at me like I'm an idiot. Also as I am selling the flat and it looks bad to potential buyers coming to look at the flat.

I have told her today that I want her to start using the wardrobe - her response is that if other people knew I was requesting her to do this, they would think I was a bully. She also says that it would be more chaotic if she put her clothes in the wardrobe. However I think this is crap, could you please tell me what you think I should do?

  • Ex employer won t send a reference after 5 months. What s my options?

I worked for a local nursery from September 2013 to July 2014 on a zero hour contract. I left on good terms due to starting another job. I usually worked roughly two days a week over this period while at university. I have now graduated and have been looking for agency work to build up my experience, the agency have found me lots of work but I am unable to work as the nursery have not provided any reference. It has now been four months since they have been asked for a reference, the agency has asked them a few times and I have called three times and emailed the manager (who was not there when I worked there). I have been assured over the phone that the manager has defiantly received the request and is looking for the right person to deal with it. I would like to know what my options are in this situation, the nursery will only listen if I threaten them with legal action I feel. In the meantime my life is on hold because someone I never met can t be bothered to deal with the reference request. Please help?

  • How can I become a sperm donor with normal sperm?

I want to be a sperm donor as my partner and i are relying on an egg donor. I do not want to be paid, I just want to donate to give someone else in the same situation me and my partner are in the opportunity to concieve. I went to a sperm clinic to have my sperm tested, my sperm results came back within normal range. I was told I cannot donate as only sperm above normal (top 10%) are accepted. I still want to provide my sperm to a couple or person in need of it. Is there any other way I can do this?

It is my understanding that muslim women cover their while body so they do not seduce men. If that's the case, as the Quran acknowledges men may have homosexual tendencies. Should men also cover up so they don't seduce gay men?

  • How likley are ecotopic heartbeats an indication of a heart problem?

    Hello

I am 26 years old, I binge drink every weekend, go to bed late, work in the city, smoke and drink about five coffees a day. I have been having heart palpitations for the last few years. every night I can feel my heart beating really hard and every six beats I get a delay in it beating for about 2-3 seconds.

I went to the Doctor and explained everything, he took my pulse and advised I have an ectopic heartbeat. He said it is normal for people to have and usually benign, however can mean there is an underlying heart issue. He said if benign, it is brought on by:

    Drinking - Tick

    Smoking - Tick

    Caffeine - Tick

    Stress - Tick

    Lack of Sleep - Tick

pregnancy or menopause - I’m a guy, so no

    Drugs: Never

I had this before while I was at University and the hard thudding went away after a few months of me not drinking and smoking. However I am unsure of the ectopic beats as the only reason I knew they were happening is due to the hard beating.

This was five days ago, I have now given up drinking (not that I drink every day) and smoking. Limited myself to one cup of tea a day and started going to bed early (however difficult as I find it hard to sleep anyway). The heartbeat has got slightly better but still quite apparent. What I want to know is if anyone else has had this? And if so, how long did it take to go away after stopping all the bad stuff? Also if it was casused by an underlying issue, is it dangerous? Also to what extent did you have the hard beating and delayed beats?
