Can we all agree Mr. God is not necessary for anything therefore he doesn't exist?
"If you look at the universe and study the universe, what you find is that there is no evidence that we need anything other than the laws of physics and the other laws of science to explain everything we see. There's absolutely no evidence that we need any supernatural hand of god."
-- Lawrence Krauss, World-Renowned Physicist
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWe are apes who evolved from ancient apes and God had nothing to do with it. My question is why do so many...?
My question is why do so many Americans deny this basic fact of science which has thousands of powerful evidences from comparative genomics and other branches of science?
The most recent Gallup poll shows that 46% of Americans deny our evolutionary relationship with the other ape species. This is very strange. Why do these Americans deny what virtually every biologist in the world knows is true?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWalking Dead is a TV show about people who were resurrected & became zombies who eat human flesh. My question?
My question is this does fantasy TV show about resurrections have anything in common with the resurrection of Jesus myth? Many thanks for your answers.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoChristians who believe the bible is true, could you please tell me why what Isaac Asimov wrote is wrong?
“Imagine the people who believe such things and who are not ashamed to ignore, totally, all the patient findings of thinking minds through all the centuries since the Bible was written. And it is these ignorant people, the most uneducated, the most unimaginative, the most unthinking among us, who would make themselves the guides and leaders of us all; who would force their feeble and childish beliefs on us; who would invade our schools and libraries and homes. I personally resent it bitterly.”
― Isaac Asimov
I ask this question because it's obvious to me and obvious to every educated person in the world, Mr. Asimov is completely right.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIs this an accurate definition of religion?
religion: an organization that can completely ignore reality any time it wants.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIs saying "To God everything is possible" a poor excuse to throw out reality?
For example:
Atheist: "Resurrections are impossible."
Christian: "To God everything is possible."
If an entire religion can just completely ignore reality any time it wants, then that seems very wrong to me.
Many thanks for your opinions.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoAre Christians required to believe in the resurrection of Jesus?
1ST QUESTION: Are Christians required to believe in the resurrection of Jesus?
2ND QUESTION: If somehow it could be shown beyond any doubt that the resurrection of Jesus never happened, would that mean the end of Christianity?
The 2nd question is a "What if" question. I understand that something that long ago would be very difficult to disprove.
3RD QUESTION: Is the resurrection of a corpse which has been dead for 3 days completely impossible?
Many thanks.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy do many Christians think they have to insult scientists to defend their death cult?
At this website I have seen numerous Christians say scientists are "liars". Why are these Christians constantly insulting the world's scientists?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoHave any creationists here read Why Evolution is True by Jerry Coyne?
And if you're a creationist and you haven't read Why Evolution is True by Jerry Coyne, why do you think you're qualified to criticize something you know nothing about?
I have this idea: An intelligent creationist who made an honest effort to understand the evidence Jerry Coyne explains in Why Evolution is True would no longer be a creationist.
Another idea I have: Evolution by natural selection is an extremely interesting branch of science. The evolution deniers don't know what they're missing.
MY QUESTION: Have any creationists here read Why Evolution is True by Jerry Coyne?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoThe Bible has many scientific errors so why do Christians say the Bible is the Word of God?
And if the Bible is the Word of God, why doesn't God know anything about scientific facts?
God was wrong about several things including Anatomy of insects, Bat classification, The value of π (pi), Stars, and Planetary formation.
Before you answer my question about God's inability to understand basic science, please see http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Scientific_errors_in_...
Many thanks for your answers because I'm really interested in understanding why an all-knowing God knows virtually nothing about reality.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoCan we all agree the world would be a much better place without religions?
For example there is Syria. Their tourism business is terrible these days. All thanks to religion.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoCould someone please provide a list of religious atrocities?
Typhoon, I was going to save your list but it was vaporized when the question you answered was deleted.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy are theists unable to correctly spell atheist?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIs President Obama a Muslim, a Christian, or an atheist?
I'm interested in your opinions.
To me it's obvious he's not a Muslim. I strongly doubt he's a Christian.
I'm betting the President of the United States is an atheist. In a normal country this would not be a problem but here in religious America he had to be quiet about it to get elected.
Am I right or wrong or what?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoIf a scientific fact conflicts with a religious belief, should the religious belief be thrown out?
By the way Mr. Darwin was born 205 years ago.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoDarwin was born on this date 205 years ago. What is your opinion of Darwin?
Darwin devoted his entire life to finding the truth, and he found it. Darwin changed the world forever which makes him the most important person in human history.
Do you agree with what I just wrote or not?
One more thing, a "heads up":
I suggest you should find and watch this HBO documentary.
1. HBO ON DEMAND.
2. SELECT HBO SPECIALS.
3. SELECT DOCUMENTARIES.
4. SCOLL DOWN TO "QUESTIONING DARWIN". It runs for about one hour.
Many thanks for your answers.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 years agoWhy do some Christians say God invented or used or guided evolution even though biologists never say that?
My point is natural processes don't need supernatural inventors or users. So why do Christians pretend evolution would not exist or not work without God having something to do with it?
It seems to me they are looking for a hiding place for their god of the gaps. Is that what you Christians are doing?
