  • If a wallpaper has a single horizontal stripe, does that have a name?

I know if there is something on the bottom of the wall it’s a trim, but what about a stripe in the middle?

  • How can I keep ants out of my garage?

I am currently using the garage as an office, and I sometimes eat in there. I sweep it and organize it but it is still quite easy for ants to get in and it’s gross. How do I keep them away? Ive heard bug sprays are bad for the environment.

  • Applying for a job I’ve quit in the past?

When I quit this job before, I quit so that I could go to school full time. But it turns out I do better in school if I have a part time job so I’m not always just doing school. So I am wondering what to say if in the interview they ask “Why did you leave use before?” Does saying what I just said sound like a good answer in an interview? And if they ask “Why are you coming back?” Does saying “I know this job requires a lot of teamwork and customer service, and that’s the sort of thing I enjoy and am experienced in.” Does that sound good? Thanks for the help, I really want this job.

  • In what situations do employers have to check for legal right to work?

I’m just curious. Because at 17 I was a babysitter, and no one checked my ID. Then I got a job at the store at 18 and they checked. Obviously one of these is a more official job, and the other is less official. But where is the line drawn for when an employer has to check for your legal right to work?

  • Listing a place that went out of business as a previous job. How does that work?

On most job applications, they want to hear about your previous jobs and the phone numbers to contact them. It looks bad if you hit “no” when they ask if it’s okay to contact them. My previous job doesn’t have a contact number because they went out of business. What do?

  • Can I be fired if I quit?

So I was planning to put in my two weeks notice next week. However, I am thinking I might quit sooner. I am not going to bore you with the story, but let’s just say I don’t need this place as a reference and that they treat the employees unfairly. If things get any worse, I might just quit without notice.

My question is, if I say “I quit” can my boss then say “No you’re fired”? Or can they legally say that they fired me when really I quit? I am asking because my boss is petty and may try to pull that sort of thing, yet I don’t want it to look like I’ve been fired to future employers.

  • How to stop eating junk food?

I am a hundred pounds overweight. Junk food costs me a pretty penny. I keep trying to eat better and work out, but when the weekend comes after a long week at work, I just want to open a bag of chips. And it’s never just one small bag of chips, it’s two big bags and a package of cookies in one night. I keep failing to stop eating junk food. I wish I could just stop altogether, but it’s a weakness. How do I stop? How do I stay motivated to only eat what I need to eat? I don’t want to have this problem anymore.

  • Can I bring essential oils on a plane?

I don’t believe all that mumbo jumbo about their healing properties but I do like the way they smell. I have a pack of 6 small bottles. Is it allowed on the air plane? I ask because I’m moving and don’t want to throw them away.

  • Does delta measure soft sided pet carriers?

The max height is 9” tall. It’s hard to find a carrier exactly 9” tall. Will they notice if my soft sided carrier is 9.5” tall? Because common man there is still enough room for my cat to be comfortable and it’s not like it won’t fit it’s a soft carrier.

  • Can my roommate sue if I don’t pay my half?

I have evidence of her agreeing to go and break the lease with me. I have evidence of me warning her I couldn’t pay past May. I also have evidence of her behavior and why I need to get away from her for my safety. She’s trying to back out of breaking and saying she will sue if I do not pay my half until the end of the lease. I am willing to pay a larger half of the break fee and willing to accept the bad rental history if she doesn’t agree to break and doesn’t pay the whole rent and gets us evicted. It’s so worth it to me at this point to get out of a bad situation. My question is can she sue me for not paying my half if there is no evidence of an agreement about who pays what? Because I thought we would just get a major fee and both be responsible for it.

  • How much evidence do I need to get a restraining order?

My roommate is verbally abusive and I do not feel safe. I don’t have evidence of her throwing things at me, but do have evidence of her screaming at me as well as evidence of her threatening the lives of my cats. The neighbor has asked her to quiet down before during one of her fits. I plan to tell the apartment manager tomorrow that I am afraid she will damage the property. I’ve called the police before, but they did not file a report since I waited for her to leave to call(I was scared she’d get more mad if I called them while she was there and felt unsafe). I have plans to leave and she agreed to break the lease but when we went to the office today the manager was not there and now she is trying to back out. I warned her I would not pay rent past May, as I will be moving out of state and that she’d be on her own, whether or not my name will be on the lease. I really want out of the lease. If I filed for a restraining order to keep her away from me and break the lease even though she’s being difficult, what are my chances?

  • How does putting a pet in airline cargo work, what’s it like to do that?

In a couple months I will be shipping my cat through cargo on an airplane. So what’s that like, what should I expect? Will they treat her like a checked bag? Should I put a lock on her kennel? Should I attach food and water bowls? I want to, but won’t they spill? Anyone have experience with doing this? How’d your pet hold up? How does it work, how do you get them back?

  • How to set up WiFi in a garage?

I’m going to move into my grandmother’s garage because she has health issues and I want to be sure someone is nearby at night. I also want WiFi and she doesn’t have that. I want to set up my own WiFi in my own space in her garage. Her garage isn’t attached to the house and I want access to the router without having to go outside and into the main building and back. How can I set up WiFi in a garage without dsl plugs? Is there any way?

  • How often should I get my elderly cats vaccinated, and where can I get records of their kitten vaccinations if it was over 10 years ago?

My cats are elderly and have never gotten sick. I haven’t had their vaccinations updated, am I supposed to? I never really thought about it, but after looking some things up about cat vaccinations I wonder if I am supposed to. How often am I supposed to get what updated? I want to keep them safe.

Also, I need records of their vaccinations so I can take them on a plane. I am moving from Colorado to Oregon. However they are 15 years old, I don’t have records of taking them to the vet when they were kittens, and I doubt their vet will either.

  • Where is it rainy as well as cold?

I want to live in a place that rains a lot but also gets cold in the winter. I used to live in Northern Oregon and it rained a hell of a lot and I loved it. But it wasn’t cold enough. I know Washington is mostly around the same temperature wise. Now I live in Denver and it gets cold in the winter and I love it. But it doesn’t rain here, like, ever. Is there a place that rains a lot like Oregon AND gets cold in the winter like Denver? I get that it will snow instead when cold and I am great with that. But in general when it’s not winter I want to see some rain! Where can I live where it’s cold AND rainy??
