  • How do you add courses you plan to take to the Common Application?

I'm taking some classes at a community college after the new year and the colleges I'm applying to need to know about them or I won't get in. They all require foreign language credit and I'm going to get it at the community college before I go to the non-community college.

  • Can you make your period shorter by using something to suck the blood out?

Like a syringe or a turkey baster... I probably won't do this, I just want to know what would happen.

  • What is your purpose in using this website?

Honestly, why are you here? To self-righteously spread your opinions? To educate the misguided? To share your knowledge? To laugh at the stupidity of others? To punish those who take themselves so seriously? For a pure and unfiltered exchange of ideas and facts? Boredom? Something else?

  • How do I differentiate between a flu and flu-like symptoms?

I've been taking Abilify with prozac for about a week now and I feel like I'm getting the flu (muscle aches, shakiness, dizziness). Am I dying of some severe reaction or just sick? How can I tell? What symptoms should I look for? I don't have any nausea and I still feel like eating, and I'm not particularly tired. I rarely get sick, but I tend to be sensitive to new chemicals.

  • Identify a possible disorder? Very strange hands...?

A girl I knew a while ago had the following conditions:

    >very flexible hands (fingers could bend all the way back)

    >Far more palm lines than usual that were in a lattice pattern; none were distinct but all were easily visible

    >difficulty running and poor coordination

I did some research and it looks a little like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but their hands don't seem to have all of those lines

  • Today some kids said they wanted to kill me?

    >16-year-old female

    >Junior in high-school taking a psychology class

    >I like this class

    >assignment: list in order what you need when stranded on a desert island

    >my group agrees on food, water, fire, shelter

    >get on topic of making soap, establishing long-term settlement

    >trying to figure out how to make soap, don't know

    > I joke that if I had to make soap I'd probably poison everyone by accident

    >everyone acts like I'm all crazy and scary now (I SAID by accident, cause I don't know how to make soap)

    >One girl says we need to find vegetation to put on the huts, I disagree- we've already covered food and shelter

    >Normal semi-constructive relaxed argument, but for some reason everyone's agreeing with her

    >out of nowhere, Girl: "well, we could put you on the fire and call that shelter", slight edge of malice in voice

    >Me: "That's not shelter; that's murder." still kinda joking, not really bothered yet

    >Guy in group: "Haha our first meal." I'm getting just slightly uncomfortable, feel like everyone's ganging up on me, but I brush it off

    >First girl makes some reference to Zombieland-"fatties die first", seems to be looking at me especially

    >I am not overweight, probably the same size as her

    >Later we get on topic of establishing society

    >Me: "we should probably have some kind of curfew and establish rules so we stay safe"

    >Guy in group: "No way anarchy! Survival of the fittest!"

    >Me: "that's gonna get everyone killed. we need to have some kind of structure so we can survive."

    >Guy:"Anarchy is an actual form of government. Two countries in Africa have it."

    >Me:"That definitely is not a good thing."

    >Some other girl in group: "Do you even know what you're talking about?"

    >Me: "Yeah. If we don't have any order it's gonna get like Lord of the Flies in there."

    >Okay. now we're writing down our needs in order of importance with explanations.

    >Other Girl is writing "need weapons, for hunting and defense against Kelsey"

    >Me: "I'd said I'd poison someone by accident because I can't make soap."

    >Interspersed though this whole discussion there has been talk of hitting me in the head with something and sending me off, unconscious, in a boat

    >Get back on topic of food, group starts advocating cannibalism, says you can't live on just plants

    >Me:"It's that easy? you could eat the body of a classmate without thinking? You don't need meat every day to survive!"

    >Finally. this thing ends

    >after class, going to talk to a friend, she's talking to a gut from my group

    >Guy: "Yeah, basically our group is fine as long as we kill Kelsey."

    >Starts to bother me that these people can look me in the face and describe murdering me. I don't really want to die, I wonder how they'd react if they heard I'd been killed. Would they rejoice?

  • I know this guy who's a Jehovah's Witness, his actions confuse me?

As far as I can tell, they're really into converting people to save their souls, so why doesn't he try to convert his friends? He seems to believe in the religion (he carries religion magazines and won't date non-JWs) so does that mean he doesn't care about the souls of his friends, or does he not believe what he claims to? Or, am I just confused about the principles of the faith?

please, no links to websites. I want your opinions and summaries.

(and I'm not trying to make any judgements, I am just sincerely curious about it.)

  • Help me identify some (poison?) berries?

So today I was walking through the woods of Northern Illinois, and I came upon some red, round, shiny berries. The lightest ones were kind of a yellowy green, midtones orange, and the ripest were bright red. They were stuck to each other in groups of two, connected at one point. They looked pretty similar to this picture, but I can't find a name for them.

  • What to do about a drug dealer/ insane friend?

My best friend has started using drugs and I am very nervous, because she is very emotionally fragile already. Her mom killed herself and everyone in her extended family is insane/ on drugs. She does, however have a very close relationship with her father. I wouldn't be worried if it was just pot, but she's smoking some kind of paper and taking pills that she cannot identify.

I have the name and location of her drug dealer and I could easily call crime stoppers and turn her in (drug dealer, not friend). Also, friend told me she likes to cut herself and write with her blood. I'm really worried about her.

One thing stops me from getting law involved: I do not want to ruin the drugdealergirl's life. She probably has enough issues without going to jail, but I don't know how to help my friend. She can't tell anyone in her family and she doesn't trust her therapist or the school.

  • Is getting a tan always unhealthy?

I attended tennis practice for 2 hours daily, 4 days per week for the first 2 weeks of june. I wore spf 30 sunscreen every day, even when it was cloudy but still got a light tan. I did not want a tan. I am naturally very pale and my family has a history of skin cancer. Am I going to age prematurely and die now? Or is it a good thing that my skin absorbed vitamins? Any ways to remove a tan?

  • Find some free sheet music for flutes please?

I'm looking for flute sheet music for songs by MGMT, Arcade Fire, or Radiohead. I'd prefer websites that didn't require giving out personal information or money. I know these musics might be hard to find but I appreciate any help. THANK YOU!!!!
