  • Muslims, do you embrace ISIS or reject them?

As has been shown time and time again, martyrs have no problems blowing themselves up, setting IEDs, or otherwise fighting against "invaders", "infidels", "oppressors" etc...

So when ISIS rolls into town with their tanks and pickup trucks, stealing your young girls and murdering your men, you do what? Nothing? Why don't we see suicide bombers blowing up ISIS check points? Why don't we see car bombings of ISIS positions?

I don't think you are afraid. You've shown throughout history that you are not afraid to martyr yourself. So that tells me that you endorse ISIS and therefore are completely complicit in the expansion of their evil in the region. Efforts to "liberate" your cities and towns should really change into obliterating them. If you aren't willing to stand up against them, then you support them. Right?

  • Is Putin in the closet?

Nothing against gay people at all, but doesn't it strike you as odd that Putin feels the need to undress in public as much as he does? Its like he either is masking his homosexuality by overdoing the machismo, he's a helpless exhibitionist, or he's just a really tacky straight dude that is stuck in some weird romance novel reality. Watching him ride his horse bare chested SCREAMED Brokeback Mountain to me. Dunno, maybe it was just me. What do you think?

  • Are open-ended contracts legal (California)?

If I have an ongoing contract (no expiration date) to provide services to a company and the contract can only be terminated for cause, and cause is defined clearly in the contract, is this legal? How would damages be calculated if the company breaches the contract and I'm forced to sue? Thanks for any help or links.

  • When and why did people start writing G_d when referencing God?

I've seen this a lot within the past 5 years in online posts and even at collegiate level writing and I don't know how it started or what its purpose is. Why not just write God?

  • What are the biggest benefits to being a state in the USA?

All this talk of Alaska's "Independance Party", as well as the well known Texan secession threats, and the fact that California would easily become one of the top 10 nations if it were to secede made me think about this.

I can see what the federal govt's benefit is to have a strong union of states, pulling in tax money, using state resources, etc etc... But outside of receiving federal tax dollars, and being protected by the federal military, what are some other benefits to a state being part of the union? It does appear to me to be a little bit of a one way street with the federal govt having enormous power.

If California were to secede, for example, it would have a very good military, would obviously be allied with the US, would have plenty of tax revenue, and its citizens would have the protection of the California constitution. What's in it for them? Or any state really?

    Thanks.

  • Energy Costs?

How can I tell how much energy something is going demand to be on and running? For example, an air conditioner is listed as 115 volts, which is normal house current, but then lists 1,027 watts cooling and 7.5 amps cooling. So if I'm going to provide a power source just to power this air conditioner to run 24/7, how much power would I need?

Sorry if this is confusing or a bad example.
