  • what should we do in this situation?

Instead of filing a workmans comp claim, an employyee injured his finger on the job, we decided to pay out of pocket for 1 weeks lost wages and the medical bills. The employee reinjured his finger over the weekend (at home) he needed another day off and 2 trips to the ER are we liable for this since it wasnt due to reinjury working?? any help would be appreciated, we are trying to be fair but legally where do we stand?

  • what to do? workmans comp.?

I own a small business and unfortunately a worker got hurt, I called my insurance company to INQUIRE about the proper proceedure since this has never happened before. I wasnt sure if I needed to file a claim or just pay out of pocket since the accident wasnt very bad. The agent called back and told me the carrier was discontinuing the service as of the 30th and to get workmans comp elsewhere would cost at least $2000.00 more than we were paying without a claim filed. Who nows what it will be if we end up having to file a claim. The problem is that we are a small business and cant affort that much for an employee that makes 11/hour but is it legal to terminate his job? We dont want to let him go but it seems we dont have a choice we simply cant afford it. CT employers have to cary it it. What can we do?

  • what the hell is wrong with people?

Is there anyone who goes out of their way to help others anymore? I am discouraged with humanity as a whole! Please convince me that goodness and concern for others is still out there in some people. I am usually the one who convinces others that goodness exists and now I just dont know. People are so cruel to each other and animals. Can you please tell me a story about how you have personally helped out another and give me back my faith that there are good people out there?

  • Sneezing dog????

We just rescued a pup from Tennessee and our other dog has started sneezing frequently, There is no unusual discharge associated with this and he is not coughing so Im ruling out Kennel Cough, Other than sneezing and having the reverse sneeze he is fine, Anyone else have a dog that sneezes? Could it be allergies?

  • suggestions for outdoor wedding?

I am getting married in a few weeks and am having an outdoor wedding. We are doing this on a fairly low budget. Our wedding is at night and I intend on using lots of candles as my theme. Any other low budget ideas out there that might work well? We have a fairly decent backyard with a small stream.
