    • A 1997 high school shooting in Pearl, Miss., was halted by the school's vice principal after he retrieved the Colt .45 he kept in his truck.

    • A 1998 middle school shooting ended when a man living next door heard gunfire and apprehended the shooter with his shotgun.

    • A 2002 terrorist attack at an Israeli school was quickly stopped by an armed teacher and a school guard.

    • A 2002 law school shooting in Grundy, Va., came to an abrupt conclusion when students carrying firearms confronted the shooter.

    • A 2007 mall shooting in Ogden, Utah, ended when an armed off-duty police officer intervened.

    • A 2009 workplace shooting in Houston, Texas, was halted by two coworkers who carried concealed handguns.

    • A 2012 church shooting in Aurora, Colo., was stopped by a member of the congregation carrying a gun.

    • At the recent mall shooting in Portland, Ore., the gunman took his own life minutes after being confronted by a shopper carrying a concealed weapon.

  • Why are conspiracy theorist so misinformed about the illuminati?

If anyone did there history they would know that there was never any plan to take over the world and their job was to enlighten people not kill them. Galileo and Copernicus had links to Freemasonry, and they just wanted to enlighten the church that earth was not the center. The Illuminati showed people the truth about science that the church hid and lied about. My question is, where in the world did these loons come up with a take over the world theory when in fact there was never an intention for them to do so?

  • What's so hard to understand about mathematics?

Libertarian here, while I do not endorse any of the following two parties. My questions is for the liberals. Because even though I don't like either party really I have a hard time understanding what's so hard about mathematics in understanding that Obama's plan is simply not working. One thing that stood out to me in the debate today was not the macho tough man talk both candidates tried to impose on one another but it was when Romney told the president, since he wanted to talk about math then lets go ahead and talk about it and hit Obama with numbers that left him unprepared to defend record. Romney said it simple. "Your math isn't adding up. In 4 years our debt has gone from 10- $16 trillion, not once has this president passed a budget in his entire term. Unemployment is high, more people are on food stamps, his energy plan has landed us at $4 a gallon." That's it, math has no party lines, 2+2 will always equal 4 no matter what party your in. I was shocked when our debt hit 10 trillion, now it's at 16, where else is it going to go from there? How much more debt can Obama add in another 4 years? Why would anyone still put in votes for him?

  • Video Camera to film small independent films.?

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I plan on starting some small project independent films/short films and wondering what type of video cameras are the best. I hear that Sony PD 150's and 170's are good cameras but do they shoot in HD? I'm well aware of the prices of these camera's but I have been saving little by little getting equipment here and there. If anyone has any experience with these cameras let me know. Thanks in Advance.

  • Russian video footage of Venus?

Not too long ago I was watching a special on TV about the race to the moon between the US and Russia. It was said that Russia sent a mechanical device with a camera and it got destroyed before it hit the ground. However, there was another one that was sent afterwards that landed and lasted on the the ground for 2 minutes I believe before burning up. I saw the pictures on the episode but forgot how it looked and also can't find them on the internet. Does anyone have a link, or video of this?

  • Solar Storm Maximum 2012?

Just wondering, when in 2012 does NASA expect the storms to vamp up? And what type of damage are they looking at. Supposedly, when the last one was around there were no cell phones or GPS so we won't notice anything electronically wrong. However, they were able to see the aurora down in Mexico the last time and they are saying this one will be stronger. Has NASA mentioned any electrical grids on the planet going out? Just curious, and if anyone has anything else to add please go ahead. BTW no conspiracy theorist please, only "real science."

    Thanks in Advance.

  • Good type of running shoes?

Hey everyone, I'm going to be turning up my cardio a bit more in the next few weeks and going to be doing a bit more running. However, I need to know what kind of running shoes are the best. I have new balances and they're ok but sometimes I feel as if they're a little to heavy, especially when I get past like 2 miles; they start to feel like weights. Anyone have any good recommendations? NIKE shocks? Anyways, thanks in advance.

  • What happened to this man?

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.

Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is “trillion” with a “T.” That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion.

Numbers that large are sometimes hard to understand. Some people may wonder why they matter. Here is why: This year, the Federal Government will spend $220 billion on interest. That is more money to pay interest on our national debt than we’ll spend on Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. That is more money to pay interest on our debt this year than we will spend on education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. It is more money in one year than we are likely to spend to rebuild the devastated gulf coast in a way that honors the best of America.

And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on.

Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities.

THE QUESTION ONCE AGAIN WHAT HAPPENED? Speaking as an Independent, I hate both parties. But to see a man like this stand for something and be someone completely different is sad. Is this proof that there are bigger powers in charge?

  • Being sworn in to a police department?

For any law enforcement officer out there I have a question. Over the next few months I will be interning with the NYPD in NYC. I have a question though, if they become interested in me and offer me a position in a precinct, what is the swearing in process like? Can you have family members there witnessing it? I was just wondering because my wife has been there for me from beginning of school and interning and I would love for her to see me get sworn in if its allowed.

  • What is it about the United States?

You always see tornadoes and Hurricanes always slamming into the US. Is it just our geographic location? You never hear about tornadoes in Canada, Europe, or Asia. Or never hear about Hurricanes even though I know the fact due to that is the warmer waters, also, with besides tornadoes there have also been many floods. So what is it about the US?
