My friend has recently picked up smoking, it started with a cigar once and a while and now it looks like the one he is sticking with are Black and Milds but he changes it up once and a while. However, now he smokes at least once a week but will smoke a bunch at one time within about an hour.

This got me wondering, what is worse for you? Smoking say 1 cig a day, or smoking 7 all within an hour once a week.

Dont bother arguing that any amount of smoking is bad, or that smoking doesnt hurt you at all. He wants to be a cop and I know smoking isnt going to help him pass the physical tests. Im just wondering if his method is actually hurting him more than its helping.

Ok the type of job I would like to get in to would be IT, do stuff like system administration for a big company, work on servers, things like that.

I had looked around for a degree that would help in this field and I really couldn't find one that was a real degree and not a certification. I asked some people I know who work in IT and none of them really had tech degrees, they were all Business, Communications and even some science.

I figured I would get a degree in General Engineering with a minor in Business. That way it should look good on an application and maybe give me a good backup field of work. I also have a part time job in IT at my University so I am learning the trade.

Money is getting a little tight so I have been looking at transferring. I was just wondering if there was a major I may have overlooked that I can get at least a Bachelors degree in. Or if my plan so far was good (seeing as most IT stuff is learned from work experience)? Any advice from people who got in to the field would be really helpful.

Ok, I had set up my computer to act as a file server so i could access files i needed from any computer. I came to school and now I am unable to connect to it from outside the school. I go to different websites to find my IP but the problem is I think that is the IP for the school or at least its modem or something. If I use the IP my computer has in the school can access it from inside the school.

Is there some way to type in the address more specifically so it will direct it to my computer such as maybe http://"schools/ IP"/"my computers IP"? If there is no way to connect this way would setting up my computer with a domain name solve the problem?

I have seen a bunch of other questions much like mine on here but none of them really had the answer I was looking for. Also Please don't say search google because believe it or not I actually tried that already.

Ok I have a portable WD hard drive about 400 gigs large. I would like a program to password protect it. However, I would like to stay away from encryption and I need to be able to use it on different computers without installing the program on each of them. I don't need super secure encryption just a simple lock that will keep stupid people from trying to get in.

I tried Axcrypt but I had to wait for it to decrypt the entire drive before I could use it (took a long time), that is why I want to stay away from encryption. I tried a program called folder castle but it only works on the computer its installed on.

I have heard a lot of people suggest TrueCrypt but I don't want to run in to the same problem as AxCrypt. A lot of the files are video or PowerPoint so I don't want it lagging or buffering all the time or long loading ahead of time, thats why Im afraid to try it (unless someone has tried it with these kinds of files).

I realize Im asking a lot but I have been searching for a while but so far when I find a new program it ends up being a let down. So more than anything if you can vouch for a program that you have tried then I will give it a try.

Ok so in access I have one cell that has the persons Date of Birth in this format mm/dd/yyyy, I need to find out how many years it has been since they turned 21. So I need an equation that will take the DOB add 21 and then figure out the difference from that to the current date. Also I only want it to display the years I don't care about months or days.

Ok heres the deal, my room mate has a laptop, he likes to hook his laptop up to a big speaker setup and blast the base. Now his choice in music sucks and we have tried talking to him about it multiple times and he has decided he doesnt care. Now I have put up with it for about half a year but when I am trying to sleep I would like it to be semi quite.

So I have decided to disable his sound, i know how to do it in windows and in the bios but i decided il see if anyone else has any more clever ideas. I have heard there is a way to disable sound from certain programs (say itunes) so he would still have sound just not music. Or Im not sure if there is a way to only disable the headphone jack so he can still listen through the laptop speakers. Also I know there are some programs that can remotely disable sound but those ussually require network management programs and our network tries to block comp to comp data (im in the dorms at a school), but if anyone has a simple one Im up to try it.

So anyway if anyone has any creative ideas, input, or anything I will be happy to try it and hopefully sleep better. By the way he isnt very good with computers so the solution doesnt have to be really high tech, most likely he will ask me to fix it when he finds out he cant blast his music. and please dont say anything like i should try to work it out with him, i will fix it at the end of the semester or sooner if he has learned his lesson.

Ok we have a small dog who's about 3 years old. My grandparents just got a puppy only a few months old but hes already 3 times bigger and way more energetic. We always baby sit each others dogs so they will eventually have to get along, problem is that's not going to well so far.

The younger dog just wants to play with ours but our dog gets very aggressive if the other one even comes close, no sniffing just growling and biting. How can we get them to get along better?

One method I heard was put them in their separate cages facing each other so they can get more used to being around each other. Anyone have any input on if this is a good or bad idea? I don't really care if they are best of friends but they will have to learn to tolerate each other, because they will be seeing a lot of each other.

Its a canadian punk rock band, they also sometimes have their name posted as Exithiside. I heard some of their songs a few years ago and thought they were awesome but was only able to get a hold of one. Now they recently released a single and an album but the original songs I had heard are not on it aside from "Finding My Way".

One of the song is called "Good Enough" they even posted it on youtube on their profile, so I know it exists but I cant find it anywhere. Anyone have any info that might help?

Im looking for a converter that would be female to female. One end being those stereo red and white connectors and the other side the small headphone type connection. So that I could say connect an xbox audio cables to it the plug in headphones to the other end.

I really don't know why im having such trouble finding anything like this, if you know why no one seems to have this that would be nice to know. Reason being i want to hook my xbox up to my computer speakers. If you can think of any way for me to make this work it would help a ton.

Ok well im really bored so I figured Id find something to ask a question about. Another day when I was bored I decided to find something I could do when hanging out with friends so I looked around on the internet and found a guide on reading palms. Nothing serious just for fun, so I memorized everything, and it seems to be something people find to be cool, a good ice breaker (and girls really seem to like it). Well now Im bored again so I was seeing if anyone else had anything similar, Iv kinda read every ones palm so I need something new, any advice on stuff I should look in to?

Ok I use a small laptop at work and for some reason it drops its network connection constantly. Weird thing is that when it does the connection status still shows "connected". I can tell its disconnected because I have a storage drive on the network and some servers I use that I loose all connection to and a little message pops up saying Im working offline.

I will also loose the internet, however if I switch to wireless connection it seems to work fine, sadly our setup blocks people that are using wireless from accessing servers (security stuff). The only fix I have found is to unplug the cable for a few seconds and then plug it back in and it resolves it self.

Anyone have any advice? I tired to find new drivers for the network card but I think its kinda old cause I couldn't find any. I know it doesn't seem like a big problem but dropping connection randomly every 20min is really annoying.

I want to backup some files on an external hard drive and I want them encrypted. However, I want to be able to open them on any computer. So that throws out windows basic encryption and the files are to big to compress then password protect.

It doesn't need heavy encryption, a simple password protect would be fine. I have tried a few programs that encrypt it using a password but they all require decryption every time you want to open the files and the files are about 100gigs over all so it take way to long.

If anyone knows of a program that has simple password protection and doesn't require a long decryption every time that would be great. Even if I had to put that program on each computer to be able to open it I wouldn't really mind.

Ok Im doing a report on laws surrounding marijuana. Right now Im mainly looking at the side of, laws that punish its use unfairly in comparison to other offenses. One example I keep finding is that if you are convicted with its use you become ineligible for student grants and loans while there is no such punishment for murder and rapist charges.

So Im kinda looking for stuff like that, if you have any input at all on either side of the marijuana debate it will help, but would be most useful to me is if you have sources to back up what you say, (it is for a report after all.)

I think its a very interesting debate and would like to hear any input but please not junk like, "drugs are bad for you," I doubt I could use that argument to convince anyone of anything. Same thing for the side, "I like pot," I want helpful input. Thanx

I saw a style of martial arts and the show Totally Outrageous Behavior on the network G4. The people were able to take direct blows to the neck, stomach, and a number of other places (some i cant state because my question might be deleted), you get the idea. Anyway they could get hit anywhere and it wouldn't hurt them, they knew attacks and defenses but on the show they had boxers and football players just hitting and kicking them it it seemed to have no effect.

I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the style, where i could find a video of it, or of any style this may sound like. Anything would help.

I think it was on MTV2 and Im almost sure it was taken off a while ago. The plot of the show was the parents would pretend to leave for a day and leave thier kid in charge of the house. They would actually go and watch cameras that had been set up in the house. Different people would show up to the house and the parents would then bet on how thier kid would react to different problems that would come up.

I thought this show was awesome and seemed to be one of the only real shows they had. If you need more description I can try to describe it more, but if any of you remember this or can tell me more about it such as if it was origonally on another channel that would help.
