guinea pig castration, behaviour after surgery.?
I had my male guinea pig castrated 1 week ago. Since the op he just isn't himself, I know that hes probably in a bit of pain, but he doesnt seem to want to eat. He will only eat romanion lettuce, basil and nibble on dandilion and fresh grass, he usually goes nuts for grass but has hardly touched it and he usually loves cucumber but wont touch it at all! He was just under 1.3kg before surgery but is now 1.1kg he lost 200g in a week. Is it normal for him not to eat food that he use to love?
2 AnswersOther - Pets10 years agoIs it illegal to hold a child back a year at primary school?
Hi My son is in yr3 at primary school. Even though he is in yr3 his reading and writing skills are only those of a child in yr1 (around 1c level). I asked the techer if holding him back a year would be a good idea as it would give him a good chance of catching up, and it wouldnt make too much of a diffrence to him as he was born near the end of the school year (16th August). I was told that apparently in England it is illegal to hold a child back a year in primary school!? Is this true or a load of horse raddish?
5 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agovauxhall astra oil and battery warning light on and engine on but no power?
I have a vauxhall astra, 1.4, year 2000 (x reg)
The problem I have is that ever so often when I drive and put my foot down on the clutch to change gear, the oil and battery warning light come on, even though the car is on when I put my foot on the accelerator there is no power. Then when I turn the car off and try to turn it on, it wont strart and it takes a couple of attempts, to get it started. I really need it sorted as it happened the other day going round a roundabout with my 3yr old in the car luckly we had enough momentum for me to reach the kerb.

Hi I have a 2000reg Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16v car. I have been having problems with it for a year. The electronics light keeps coming up. It will come on for a while then go off for a while and it keeps doing that. When the light is on I cant get past 40mph without the light flashing. When the light is on the car sometimes feels like its shaking and it has no pull. I have had the car checked and it came up as the 'air temperature sensor, and misfire on number 2' so we changed the temperature sensor and I have also had the coil pack changed too as the number 2 was fine, but it still comes up with the same fault. Now I have found that it keeps blowing out my plug number 1 so Ive been told to have the injection changed (The garage owner is family so hes not trying to rip me off as he only ever chargers me for parts and never for his time). I was told by another garage that it could be the ECU. Has anybody else had these problems or knows someone who has?
3 AnswersVauxhall Opel1 decade agoHelp! Should my son be held back a year at school?
Hi I need some advice. My son is due to start year 3 in September, but Im really concerned. I moved my son to a new school in November of 2009 as his old school didnt seem to bother with his education, and just let him play outside all the time (they used a teaching technique known as 'free play' which is learn through play), and I was worried he was falling behind. These concerns were confirmed at his new school, even though he was in year 2 he was at the level of a child just starting yr1. He has slowly bagan to catch up but his reading, writing and maths is still really behind. There have been times when he has sat at home and cried because he says all the other children can do the work set in class and he cant. I have no faults with his new school as he has plenty of support lesson and help, but Im worried hes just going to end up falling further and further behind. He can read words unless theyre his 'bear words', hes still on books that are given to children just starting yr1 and when writing he has to have a alphabet in front of him as he cant remember letters, and as for maths he cant even add to single digits together without having cubes infront of him, and a letter I got from school said that they wanted us to practice the 2,5 and 10 times table how can he learn these when he cant do simple things like 4+5 with out cubes?
Do you think I should appeal to the Head Mistress to get him held back in yr2 giving him an extra year to catch up? It wouldnt make much diffrence to him as he was born the end of August which is the end of the school year. And what if the Head Mistress refuses to hold him back are there any appeals I can hold and tests that can be done just to show how far behind he is? Please anyone who has been through a similar situation or is a head teacher and could give some advice please help me!
