  • What do you pack in your toddler's lunch?

My son is 3 and he's starting preschool soon. I was wondering what do you pack for lunch for your preschooler? I am hoping for more ideas in lieu of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

  • Can someone help my family with bath time?

I have a 3 year old son and an 18 month old daughter. Bath time can be so stressful sometimes! I am having trouble washing their hair. You would think after 3 years, my son would be used to it but...NO. Washing it is not a problem, it's rinsing. Neither of my kids will look up for me to rinse their hair. I use a cup and end up dumping water on their head. The freak out and start crying every time. I have tried putting a washcloth on their forehead but they move constantly and end up getting drowned anyway. I have seen these blue pitchers that mold to the forehead to let rinsing their hair easier. Do they really work? How do you rinse your child's hair?

  • When did your baby's eyes change color?

I have an 18 month old daughter who has beautiful blue eyes. The thing is, neither my husband nor I do. I was wondering if there is still a possibility that her eyes will change color. I really want them to stay blue and I don't want them to change!

  • Why is my food always 100% better than theirs?

We could all be eating cereal. Accurately measured out....milk too. Using the same spoons. And they would want my bowl.

I have tried variations. Another example of what should be brilliant thinking thwarted upon inception.

    Variation #1:

Pour yourself a bowl of Colon Blow cereal....(and plan to have witnesses to the aftermath). Pour the boy and girl a bowl of cereal.....with marshmellows, sparkles, unicorns flying around it in a circle, the milk spouting beautifully out the middle. The will not want that. They will want the bowl of Colon Blow......chock full of bark, berries and crunchy sticks.

    Variation #2

Same scenario. Now they are eating your Colon Blow. So you decide take a bite of the Candyland cereal before the Unicorns get soggy and the sparkles get dull.

Before it reaches your lips.....mark my words. They will first grab the spoon before it reaches your lips sending a unicorn into orbit, splatting colorfully on your shirt......the magenta is striking against the pale yellow you know. Then drive the spoon into the bowl like a conquistador claiming a new land.....and say.......the word that composes a full 1/3 of the vocabulary of the under 5 set.......MINE!

So you are back to your bowl of Colon Blow. Only the milk has softened the bark, berries, and sticks into the consistency of wall paper paste.

I know what you are thinking next. So I just won't eat cereal until they are 12! By then they will have all the cereal eaten before you wake up.

Why is it that once your children turn into toddlers with teeth.....you will never again....dine alone. Something you had always wished for........much too fervently??

  • Does your child have a lovey?

My son will be 3 years old in a couple of weeks. He carries around this huge stuffed Tigger everywhere. Tigger eats with with my son, bathes with him, naps with him, goes to the grocery store, etc.

    http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...

My son starts preschool in August. He is autistic and doesn't talk much yet. I am worried how my son will do on his first day because that will be the very first time that I am not there. Obviously, Tigger won't be able to fit in his backpack so that my son can feel comfortable at school. I was wondering, if your child has a strong connection to a lovey and what happened the first day of school when they weren't able to bring it.

  • Does this look like an allergy? (pic included)?

My daughter has this terrible rash around her face. Does it look like a food allergy? I am taking her to the doctor in a couple of weeks but I was wondering if you guys had any thing similar happen to your kids. She also has a really light rash on the backs of her upper legs and the front of her belly.

  • If your kid won't nap, how long is it before you give up and take him out of his room?

I put my kids down for a nap today at 2:30. It is an hour later and I hear my son still playing in his room, NOT SLEEPING! Should I let him continue to play quietly and hope that eventually he'll fall asleep or should I get him out since it's already been an hour? How much time do you let pass before you take him out of his room?

  • Which photo should I use?

My son will be 3 years old in the beginning of July. I want to start filling out the invitations soon and I wanted to include a photograph.

The problem is, is that he is so dern hard to photograph! LOL

He is autistic and he hardly ever looks at the camera and he rarely smiles.

I was hoping to get some feedback on a few photos that I am considering for the invitations. Please let me know which one you like best. If you don't like any of them, let me know if I need to start from scratch! LOL

  • What is the name of this movie?

When I was little I saw this movie that I really liked, but I do not remember the name of it. It was in the eighties. It was about 2 young children and monsters. The youngest child was a girl about 5 years old. I remember she was playing outside by herself when Frankenstein walked up to her. She was not afraid of him and they became friends. She brought him inside her home and her and her older brother (around 10?) tried to hide him from their parents. Somehow they got ahold of an amulet. Dracula was hunting down the kids because he really wanted that amulet. I remember that he picked up the little girl by her chin! She screamed and he hissed in her face. I remember a werewolf being in the film too. Do you know the name of this movie and where I can watch it online? Thanks

  • What are some high fattening foods I can give my toddler?

My 2 1/2 year old son (he'll be 3 in July) takes Topamax and Keppra for his Epilepsy. He started taking Topamax last June. Ever since then, he has been a very picky eater. He will only eat one or two bites of food and then throw his plate on the floor. He is very active and likes to jump up and down all the time. I figured he just an active toddler and a typical picky eater.

Well, yesterday my husband was changing my son's diaper and he also needed to change his shirt. When my son was shirtless, I noticed that I can see EVERY rib and bone in his little chest. I could even see his Xyphoid process!!! He looked like a kid from Ethiopia! It scared me so bad!

I called his pediatrician to tell her about my son and I was worried that he is too skinny. I took him in and he was weighed. He weighs only 24 pounds! He has dropped 2 sizes in clothes. He went from a 2T down to a size 12 months! The doctor looked up Topamax and told me that it can cause anorexia! She said that he is very close to being underweight and anorexic. She wants me to try to give him high calorie foods to try to "fatten" him up. She wants to try that first so she doesn't have to change his medication. With Topamax, he has been seizure free since June. We are worried that if we switch him, he may start having seizures again. So we are trying other options.

She told me to give him Ovaltine milk shakes with vanilla ice cream. He is allergic to peanuts, so we can't give him peanut butter. She also told me to use butter with toast and pancakes and to also use whole milk when cooking instead of water.

I would like to know any other fattening foods we can give him. It needs to be something that doesn't have a lot of salt in it (like McDonalds or Chef Boyardee).

    My list so far:

yobaby yogurt (made with whole milk)

    chocolate pudding

    chocolate graham crackers

    whole wheat bread

    bananas

    toaster struddels

    bacon

    eggs

    sausage

Do you know of any fattening foods we can give him?

  • Who sings this song and what's the title?

I rarely listen to the radio. I happened to catch this song in the car today. I really liked this song, but the DJ's didn't say who it was by or even the title of the song. It sounds like a teenage boy singing. It sounds a little bit country, but not too much. I remember only a couple lines of the song.

There's always going to be another mountain

I'm always going to want to make it move

  • I have a question about photo restoration?

I have some really old family photos of my Great Grandmother. I believe the photos were taken in the 1920's. They are a little smaller than wallet prints and show great age. I was hoping to restore them so that I can give my Grandfather 8x10s of his mother for his birthday coming up. I have Photoshop Elements 6. I tried my best with the clone and stamp tool and also the healing brush tool. Is there any other technique I can use to get them looking better?

  • Do you like this photo? Does it look professional?

I recently purchased an inexpensive studio kit that came with backdrops, stands, lights, softboxes, etc. This is my first attempt at a "studio" portrait. It's just of my daughter. Please tell me what you like and don't like about it. ( Please ignore the rest of the photos in my account are just candid around the house photos).
