  • Biggest Loser - Best Friends?

Did anyone else feel like Carla and Joelle were barely even friends, let alone 'best friends'? They didn't seem to like each other the minute the show started.

  • Christmas present for 11 year old girl?

My 11 year old wants a new ipod nano. She got a 2nd generation ipod nano last christmas. This christmas she wants a new ipod (4th generation). I have read bad reviews about the new accelerometer feature. I don't want to waste the money but she's not giving me any other ideas. I haven't told her I don't want to buy it for her.

So, help me out, this question is to the teens out there who know what it's like to be in this situation. Do I buy her the ipod nano or do you have other ideas of what I can get her?

  • Talking about politics in the workplace?

I have a super right wing coworker who listens to a lot of republican radio and comes in spouting the most ridiculous stories. I have had enough and have told her that if she were to listen to super left wing shows, they have just as ridiculous of stories but against the other side. She says 'well they are lying and unreliable'.

I am done hearing about it and talking about it. I've made it clear to her that I don't want to talk about it, what do I do now that she won't stop?

I don't want to seem like a tattle tale or a baby by going to my boss but we work in the same cubicle and she's driving me crazy. Doesn't help that another one in my cubicle is a vocal democrat also so they are always going back and forth. Help me.

  • Can this camera take double A batteries?

I am comparing digital cameras and I cannot find anywhere if it is possible for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4K to take double A batteries. I see a rechargeable battery that I could buy, but I want a camera that I can use double A batteries in if the rechargeables are having issues.

I've been looking and looking at cameras and think I may have found one so could someone help me out and let me know if this camera takes double A batteries and your source.

    Thanks.

  • 4 year old bedtime troubles.?

I have a routine for my 4 year old daughter. It is put on pajamas, brush teeth, read book, turn out lights, back rub/snuggle, then mom leaves and go to sleep. This routine keeps taking longer and longer and longer. She goes reeeeeaaaaaallllly slooooooooooow doing everything. I have tried starting the routine earlier, I have tried encouraging her to go faster, I have tried taking away reading the book if she goes too slow (I tell her we ran out of time to read the book), nothing works. Also, when I go to leave her room she cries that she wants to sleep with her older sister (11 years old) or that she's scared of her closet. She gets SO emotional at bedtime. I dread bedtime everyday. I've decided it's time to figure something out to make this work. I have thought about time outs which is her normal punishment and she hates them but won't that just make bedtime even longer?

Any advice is appreciated and I hope everyone has a great day.

  • Younger sibling bothering Older sibling.?

How do you get a 4 year old to leave your 11 year old and her friend alone when they want to be left alone?

I have tried and it has required me constantly making my 4 year old daughter stay by me or she sneaks back upstairs to bug them. Is this what it takes to get her to leave them alone? Or is there a simpler way?

Help from younger siblings and older siblings welcome.

  • Dance classes - yes or no?

I am struggling with whether to pay for my daughters to take dance classes this school year. It would be $1251 for them to take dance.

My husband is going to school full-time this school year which is going to make money really tight and I just don't know if I should spend this money. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • 11 year old daughter's "friends"?

My daughter has 3 "friends" that I despise. They do mean things like when they are all together the 3 will ignore my daughter or they will email my daughter saying "we are having a sleepover for two nights together!" - when they are not inviting my daughter. It drives me crazy.

There are nice girls who try to be friends with my daughter and she semi- blows them off in order to be accepted by these other 3.

When I let her have a sleepover, she always chooses one of these 3 instead of one of the nice ones.

When the 3 do something mean, I have been trying to nicely point it out by saying "what do you think about what they did? I don't think it is very nice." and she always says "it's fine. they aren't trying to be mean"

Any advice would be helpful on how to handle this situation. I find myself leaning towards not letting her have friends over night, etc because I know she is going to pick one of these girls that I don't care for.

  • Grilling for semi-strangers?

I've met my cousin around 10 times my whole life. Her and her family are coming to see my house on Saturday and grill out. I know she is a really healthy eater (so no brats like we like to grill). What entire simple meal would you serve? I would like to keep it very simple since they are coming over after I work.

  • Marriage counselor is completely against drinking any alcohol?

My husband and I are not big drinkers at all. We have a couple if we are doing something fun like we are with friends or at a concert or a sporting event. We are going to marriage counseling right now and the counselor is completely against drinking. Whenever we talk about an evening we had, she asks if 'alcohol was involved' and if there was, she scrunches up her nose and makes a horrible face. She just seems to be very personally against alcohol, even used responsibly. Why do you think this is? And do you think we should tell her that we enjoy drinking from time to time, etc.? We are not in counseling due to anything alcohol related as far as I can tell.

  • If a guy is not romantic with you, does it mean he doesn't love you?

I read a post today that asked how to get a guy to be more romantic. One of the responses was from a guy who said it depends on the woman with him. With women in the past, he has not been romantic at all, but once he found 'the one' he found being romantic really easy. Is this true? My husband is the most unromantic man on the planet. I have never brought it up to him and was wondering how I mention it. It has just become tough after 10 years to get myself in the mood, I would like some help sometimes. It really hurts me to think that with a different woman he could be super romantic. So this is a two part question:

    1. How do I bring it up to him after 10 year of acting perfectly satisfied with his unromantic side?

    2. Are guys romantic by nature when with the right woman? Or is it something these women do to make the guy romantic?

  • My 4 year old is obsessed with my boobs?

My 4 year old daughter (just turned 4) is obsessed with my boobs. She pushes on them and once in awhile tries to look down my shirt at them. She told me that when she turns 5, she's going to have big ones like me. I tell her not to push on them, etc. but she thinks it is really funny. What would you do?
