  • Im 21 and need cash fast ... Any ideas?

Let me just stop you right there ... I know you're going to say "Call J.G. Wentworth" lol

But seriously, here's my issue, and maybe no one can have an answer to this besides myself. Gotta try the Yahoo! community though.

I just graduated community college for graphics design only to find that the market for this job is absolutely over-saturated and the competition is outrageous. Being the jack-of-all-trades personality, I had already expected this and taught myself how to papertrade in the stock market. I've become, over the past 3 years, very familiar with the patterns and habits of typical day-trading as well as long term trends. I know what news to play and how to play dips, and even dabbled into options trading. My biggest problem is Im strapppppppppppppped for cash. My parents could do little to help me, so I've toughed out the college expenses pretty much alone. I am unemployed right now, but I can easily grab a serving job at a steakhouse. Theres the catch22 though; If I serve in a restaurant, I will only have enough to pay my bills and living expenses, no leftover money. If I had leftover money though, I could easily daytrade and pay bills from my nightjob. It may also be good to note my skill sets: Graphics Design, Computer Hardware and Software, and stock experience. I tried at one point building and selling computers but ebay and paypal had their grubby hands snagging all of my profit ...

Basically Im just grasping for ideas. How can I get like 3-6 thousand bucks fast, outside of serving. Serving is nice because I can work nights and trade during the day. If I work 2 jobs, I lose the ability to trade, so that doesn't help. I thought about selling my car lol, but I understand that would create more problems than it would solve. I am however, very confident in my abilities as a trader. If you have ideas, feel free to comment; Please dont tell me stocks are too risky etc, because honestly ... I've studied them for years and they are not as scary as people make them out to be.

  • What song did "The Backbeats" sing right before show end tonight?

They sang "If I were a boy" by Beyonce for the competition, but then they sang a quick little sample, as did every other group, right before the show ended. I totally forgot the name of the song ^^

  • Why is the exact same paint, drying a different color?

Okay heres the deal. My house has been up for sale for like 7 months now and I decided to do as many home imporvements as I could so the house would get sold. I patched grass seed, I repaired the deck , and I went to try and repaint some hideous scuff marks on a wall along my staircase. Heres the problem :

I painted it fine . .. no streaks or gaps in color. Looks fine WHERE I PAINTED . Unfortunately, my wall is about 40 feet high and I did not plan on painting the whole wall. I ONLY wanted to paint over the flaws and discoloration using the same bucket of paint that originally painted the walls of the house. Now it is painfully obvious that I tried to cover some things up because everywhere I painted . . . is a small shade darker than the area around it. I do not know if the paint ( over a year old ) could have changed pigment some how . . or maybe painting over the same wall twice darkens the tone? I have no idea . . . very inexperienced painter here haha. I just need a fix that DOES NOT involve balancing a dinky ladder on my stairs to try and paint the ENTIRE 40 foot wall, yikes!

Any ideas, tips, or info on why the color is so different is greatly appreciated. Gotta fix this before the house has a showing again lol.

  • Need Serious Options On How To Obtain a Large Sum Of Money?

At the risk of sounding foolish, I need public opinions on methods or ideas of how to do this. Any childish or non-constructive responses will be ignored, so please get your 5 minutes of internet fame elsewhere.

Okay, Heres the deal. A close family member of mine needs surgery. It is not life threatening yet ( knock on wood ) but the sooner they receive this surgery the better. His job provides insurance but this particular surgery is not covered until his life is actually in danger. Because of this, I've decided to take on any amount of work or research to help him.

    Our Target Sum : $30,000

    Our Hopeful Timeframe: 1-2 years

Loans etc. are not an option ( obviously ) and both our wages currently are just getting us through this months bills ( in some cases . . . last months ) . I have an eTrade account and was hoping to see some light in this tunnel by investing $3000. Ive lost $1000 thus far, and tho Im confident I can get that money back . . . Im worried 1 step back and 1 step forward simply is not going to help me. Now Im assuming the stock market is the best way to "get rich quick " so Im doing my best to study charts and do my research as best I can. Im playing with high risk stocks because mutual funds etc aren't going to help short term and especially with only 2 grand. The most money I have at my disposal at any given time is between 3-5 thousand including my stock assets. I also have a car worth approximately 10k which I cannot stress enough is a last resort leverage asset.

If anyone has any advice, ideas, thoughts, or similar experiences and how they got through them, please feel free to post. Again, ignorant spam would not be helpful to me and I ask that people refrain from posting it. Thanks so much,

p.s. I am not afraid to lose money. I know it takes money to make money in this world and I do not fear failing. I feel this is something I must do.

  • Does this error mean I need more RAM memory or is it something else?

    http://i33.tinypic.com/axxhz6.jpg

That link above is a screenshot taken of the error message Ive received. It says that I need atleat 3072 K of memory to use this program. It then says "Your System: OK " ... What the heck?

I understand that RAM memory runs in multiples like 256,512,1024, 3072. This leads me to believe the error message means I need another stick of RAM. I currently have 2 gigs. But the error says things like 3072 K. I have 2,048,000 K memory lol.

It also calls it Expanded Memory and says you can "fix it using the DOS boot disc". If there is simply a setting that needs changed, then I'll change it instead of buying more ... Help?

  • Why does my high end Power Supply short circuit the breaker? ?

Okay, First let me show you the PSU that I've purchased through newegg.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

Thats a Rosewill 750 Watt power supply. When I install that PSU, and then flick the switch and press the power button on my computer, my lights shut off and I must reset the breaker EVERY time. No matter which outlet I used, the same thing happened.

Also, I assumed it was a faulty power supply. I sent it in for an RMA and I recieved a brand new one. This one does the SAME exact thing. My stepdad is an electrician and he says its impossible to buy a Power Supply that is "Too Strong" for our home because the wattage does not effect the current of electrivity. Help me out, is this a rare 2 defective PSU's? Is it too powerful? What else could it be?

  • Slow Laptop, Any Other Resort Beesides Reinstall Windows?

Specs: 1-2 Year Old Single Core AMD

    HP Pavilion With Windows XP

    1024 MB RAM

46.8 Gb Free Space on My Drive

Issues: Slow ... Even Moving My mouse is glitchy. Icons on desktop take forever after i click them to load.

CTRL ALT DLT shows me that 90%-100% of my CPU is used while computer is IDLE! No single process is doing it. All processes have sparatic jumps from 00% to 30-75% ... then back to 00%. Its wierd.

    Wrong Answers:

    Not a Virus, Ive Checked.

Not Spyware, Ive checked ... Alot.

Plenty of Space, Plenty of RAM.

    Fairly new laptop.

Defragged and CCleaned ... Still Slow.

This is just a recent problem within the last 5-6 months. Ive come to think that its a malfunctioning CPU, poor connection to the harddrive, or maybe its stupid Windows ... Dunno but I need suggestions.

  • Whats wrong with my laptop? So Slow And No Virus or SPyware ...?

Ive got a 1-2 year old HP Pavilion Laptop.

The computer itself is incredibly slow. When I double click firefox it takes about 30-50 seconds to load. When I am actually using firefox, with my wireless internet its blazing fast, instant loading pages , etc ....

I think its something wrong with my hardware, but i dont know. Also, Ive completely scanned my computer for viruses and spyware. It found some spyware and removed it but nothing else to note.

The issue is that anything that requires even minimal "processing" bogs my computer down. Videos on youtube, songs on youtube, or on my computer ... its all so choppy and iritating.

Help me out? Is it something wrong with the processor? Its not an old crappy processor either. It used to be able to handle much more than these little meaningless tasks.

Also CPU usage under CRTL ALT DELETE is radical.

Sometimes 15% and jumps to 85%. Sometimes constantly 95%+ WHILE ITS IDLE .... I dont get it.

  • Why Does Windows Freeze with Newly Installed DvD Drive??

Whats Wrong With Windows Now That I Installed New Cd Drive? Experts Help??

    Okay Heres the Deal:

I removed my old CD Drive Burner and replaced it with a new CD/DVD Drive Burner.

The Drive works, please dont ask. The drive is properly connected and can load information off of CD's. The problem is that Windows ( absolutely overpriced garbage ) wont load now that I installed this new drive. I think its completely ridiculous if I need to re-install Windows just because I replaced a freaking Cd Drive, but the computer gets past the bios, and into the Windows loading screen but freezes after 30 seconds.

I dont need idiots asking "how are you typing this?" or idiots asking "how do you know the drive works?". It does ... lets leave it at that.

The wierdest part of this is that I can actually get into Windows via "Safe Mode" and access all my files minus the internet.

Why is Windows being dumb? Ive disabled the cd drive, unhooked the cd drive, and nothing else has changed in my system.

IF YOU SAY REPAIR WINDOWS, TELL ME. Will it erase all my file

  • Why wont my computer stay on Long Enough To View the BIOS???

At first my computer would start for 10 seconds, then shut down for 5 seconds, and then start up for good an run windows consistently for hours.

Now it starts up but shuts down before I can even look into the bios to see whats wrong with it.

I have a 600 watt power supply and I assume that is plenty for two 500 Gb Hard Drives, 3 CD Drives, 2 Gig Ram, and a Quad core. Maybe I was wrong but Ive read reviews on this Rosewill PSU and most of them have even more than I hooked up to it.

Many people have suggested: Reset CMOS battery

    Re-Install Windows XP

Check RAM and remove one of them

    CHeck CPU temp for overheating

Turn off some settings in the BIOS

Are any of these likely? ANything to do with the BIOS is difficult because now the things shuts off after like 20-30 seconds if im lucky ... I need help or the most liable answer. Please keep in mind:

This is a brand new computer. I dont see how it can be overheating within 15 seconds of starting up. It has sat off for days.

  • What is that "code" you type in "Run" that lets you change Startup Programs?

Someone told me once what I can type in to the "Run" under the Start Menu that allows me to check or uncheck ANY programs that I want or dont want to run during windows start-up.

I believe it was something like "ms.startup.exe" or something but that isnt it.

  • Home Built Computer Help ... Does a Double-Start ???

Okay, Everything is connected correctly so dont ask ... please ... I am not using the home built computer to ask this question so please no idiots with "Then how are you typing this?"

On to the question, when I first turned on the computer, it turned on with all fans flashing and spinning and all LED's working correctly and the cd drive lights were even on then all shut down ...

    WHAT!? ....

Then it turns back on ... "PHEWWW" and then it went into bios normally and I even installed Windows normally. Then I had to "restart" like 5 times ... each time it restarted FINE, no problems.

The only problem occurs when I actually unplug the main power cord and plug it in ... which is obviously a problem if i intend to sell the computer. Please help, also, occasionally a "Send / Dont Send Error Report" message box pops up ... the computer doesnt restart but it says its a serious error. I think they may be linked ... dunno
