I'm getting an axolotl pretty soon, and I've been researching how to care for them, but I am still unsure about the best substrate. Everything that I have read says that gravel/pebbles larger than the animal's head will be swallowed, but some say that sand is recommended and some say that it is dangerous. Axolotl owners, which do you use?

I'm making a fattoush salad for dinner tonight, and the recipe calls for pomegranate molasses, but I can't find any. Is there something that I can use as a substitute? Regular molasses?

I am thinking of getting a tegu, and I would be building a custom enclosure that is 8x4x3. I have read that this is good for an adult, and that a baby needs a 40 gallon aquarium. I would prefer not to buy a separate cage just for when it is a baby, so is there any reason why a hatchling couldn't live in the big enclosure?

My brother just rescued a semi-neglected box turtle from a yard sale. He is about 10 years old. I noticed that his nails, especially on his back feet, are so long that they are curling. Is that normal? If not, can I clip them somehow?
