9 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoIs there really a difference between OLD religion and mythology?
I was thinking how old Gods and Goddesses were worshiped, but then there are tales of the mythological creatures associated with them that were also worshiped in truth. So, is there really a fine line between old religion and mythology, or are they really the same thing just under different titles?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoRock and Pop: If you HAD to get lyrics tattooed, what would you pick?
Just curious really.
BQ- happy feels music or dark/twisted music?

18 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoPoetry- Thoughts on this?
A Message Promising.
Sit you now and look to me,
hear what I say,
listen carefully,
to the message I've to pass your way.
I know I'm a riddled mess,
lost in the fog,
a blight I confess,
struggling to earn where I belong.
I feel guilt for what I bring,
hardship and strife,
my mind it's eating,
taking joy from our lives.
I'm to find my own answers,
my better self,
to cure this cancer,
yet I am weak even with your help.
I wish to say how sorry,
how regretful,
how melancholy,
I am for being evil in full.
Unintentional though it was,
the hurt I caused,
the pain I spun,
now reason to fix what I have flawed.
So this I will do.
This, I promise you.
So what do you think?
5 AnswersPoetry8 years agoRock n Pop- What sound is music to your ears, but NOT an actual song or music piece?
I think, for me, it's hearing my little 2 yr old sister laugh. It's infectious :)

9 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRnP: Buy/Sell: Music covers it all?
As in, there's a song for every feeling, every scenario, and a song for everyone to relate to individually. I think so.
BQ- If you could/had to join the military, what branch would you choose? I'd be stuck between the Marines and the Navy.

6 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRock n Pop: What's a music cliche' you make it a point NOT to follow?
For me, it's that metal is all growling and talent-less nonsense. I admit, I wasn't always a big metal listener, and one of the reasons I started was to see if there was anything beyond heavy, angry/sad music with hardly any vocals (my thoughts back then, I was a bit close-minded and younger). I wanted to prove/disprove that stereotype for myself.
What about you guys?
BQ: Of the regs and users here, who's house would you want to tp?
I'd tp CF's house in rainbow colors, he'd probably join in the fun ^-^
BQ2: What's something important from your childhood that you possess still, if anything?
I still have this little Ty Beenie Baby named Freckles, he went everywhere with me.
Thanks everyone!
16 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoPolitics-what business seems pointless for the government to invest in?
I'd have to say the lottery business. For all the money that goes into it, people get too hooked onto it and end up spending alot of money for a slim chance to win anything. The average person spends $150 bucks a year on tickets, which could be spent on more important things. Not mention costs of production, advertising, and manufacturing AND unclaimed awards. Sure, billions of money is generated and there are job opportunities, but if we could trade that business (as in, the money that goes into it) for a more useful product to sell, I think people would be spending more wisely than just wasting at least $150 bucks a year. The money made from lottery tickets seems to vanish just as the money from our pockets. The chance of winning vs how much the actual cost is kinda makes the lottery seem like a waste.
However, if the profit managed to circulate back into the economy for something significant and useful then it wouldn't be such a waste, and the unclaimed money could be used to generate other things to help boost the economy, no?
What about you guys, got any businesses in mind?

"Hurt" rendition by Johnny Cash.

That song gets me every time, kinda gives me a little reality check that my life isn't so bad since others got it worse. What about you lovely people, got any songs that sober you up or make you reflect on the past a bit, or songs that you listen to when times are hard?

10 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRock and Pop: If you could write a book/make a movie based off of a song, what song would you choose?
And why? I think I'd write a story based off of "You Rascal You" by Hanni El Khatib.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmfy_5nAH_U
I'd pick that one because I think it'd be interesting to develop the three main characters involved under that kind of emotional/mental strain, would make a dark and interesting story I think.

19 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRock and Pop- What musical advice have you heard/recieved/given that seemed hard to understand/follow?
One of the first pieces of advice I got when learning to play was to listen to everything...literally. I used to find it hard to stick to, because that meant listening to songs I didn't like all the way through. But then I figured the point to that was that it's entirely possible to hear a sound anywhere that you'd like to use/incorporate/learn, or a sound that could inspire you to compose. There's a lot to learn from just listening.
What about you guys?
BQ- I'm ready to start classes (college courses, yay) again, what you all? Ready for summer to end?

8 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRock & Pop- What would you say or what artist would you rec to someone if they told you they detested music?
I found a blog post where someone was hating music, and I can't help but wonder why. It makes me want to help find something to like, since music is proven to release pleasure chemicals in the brain upon hearing it. So, how can it be possible to not like it, to ignore a scientific reaction? Hm... here's the article-
http://althouse.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-hate-music....
If it were me I'd try to talk to the other person more, get an idea of what they might like and leave a few kindly and probably soft suggestions, but that's just me. What about you guys? Thoughts on this article and why it's such an anomaly?
BQ- how was your weekend?
BQ2- latest music discovery?

10 AnswersRock and Pop8 years agoRock and Pop- What song would you apply to one of your favorite characters?
I asked this in books and authors, figured it could apply here. Any character, from any piece of literature or any film. Feel free to go with more than one character if you can't decide on one favorite.
BQ- Your dream car?
BQ2- How about some great one-liners?
