I am in my last year of college working on my B.A. in Philosophy: I am doing research on the interconnections between Biomedical Ethics and Philosophy of Religion. I am an avid believer in God, and I believe in Him on the grounds of reason and evidence, not the cliché modern conception of faith.
Why do people in China not fall off the Earth?
Look, I get why we don't fall off the planet, it's because of Gravity, but why do people in China not fall off? I mean, they are on the opposite side.

5 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoThe so called "Theory of Evolution"?
What do you think about objecting to evolution by calling it a theory? Do you think people do not understand what a scientific theory is, and how much more robust of a conception it is than the traditional colloquial usage? Does any person who is scientifically literate actually object merely on the grounds of rhetoric? I mean, has anyone heard of "Germ Theory?” I mean, I don’t see anyone willing to put bloody bandages on their wounds...
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoThe Philosophy of Sex?
Have you ever wondered about the morality of sex? Should the only moral consideration be consent? Should there be any moral considerations? Or are there certain duties (such as mutual pleasure) or responsibilities (like a 70 year old creeper should't be with an 18 year old girl)? What about public morality or social judgments? What about divine mandates? (No, a mandate is not a guy that you take on a date, lol.) Any thoughts?

4 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoWhat do you think about being gay and Christian?
I mean, the bible seems to speak against it, but is there a real conflict? Should one who identifies as gay change their lives in their walk with Christ?

4 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoWill I vomit or crap myself if I see one more question like “Will the world end in 2012?”?
Questions about the end of the world in 2012 are to rational inquiry as George W. Bush is to a grammatical sentence.
4 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoDoes the fact that we desire a transcendent reality prove that it exist?
Evolutionary biology is a fact (people, get over it). Therefore, it seems reasonable that if one has evolved certain desires then said desires must be able to be satisfied in some way that is biologically advantageous for the given species. Some humans have a desire to be connected to a Transcendent reality that one might call God. Therefore, it seems reasonable, given the premises, that this desire can be met, therefore giving one reason to believe in a transcendent reality. Does this seem reasonable? Why would we evolve a desire that can not be met?

6 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoWhat is Truth, and how can we come to know it?
I am talking about the Platonic Form of Truth: that which is actually the case of things, objective reality. What is Objectivity, and how can we be objective? Should we even strive to be objective?
