Can you carry on a garment bag onto a cruise ship?
I'm sailing Carnival Splendor and I was hoping to carry on only to expedite debarkation mostly, but also to make sure my bags arrive in my room. I was wondering about my garment bag. Online, they only give the dimensions 24"x 16", but it seems that a folding garment bag should be fine to carry on. Mine is a typical 42" x 23" x 4.5". Has anyone tried carrying on a garment bag?
3 AnswersCruise Travel1 decade agoWhat can we do during a cruise port stop in San Francisco, Seattle, and Vancouver BC?
Our Mexico cruise itinerary is changing thanks to the swine flu. This is a possible new itinerary. What can we do in these ports, and will transportation be difficult and/or expensive? Our other option is cancelling and getting our money back so I want to make sure there is something worthwhile in these ports before I make a decision.

5 AnswersSeattle1 decade agoDoes anyone have a picture of the wall Ty Pennington painted in a bedroom in a recent episode?
In a recent episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition Ty did a master bedroom (as usual) and painted kind of abstract flowers/vines on a wall in brown. Does anyone have a picture of that, or something similar? I'd love to hand paint something like that in my room, but need something to look at for confidence.
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoIs it standard procedure for hotels to charge in advance with no refund?
I have booked a condo in Maui, Polynesian Shores, and paid a $500 deposit. The rest is due 60 days before we go, and there are no refunds. By all the reviews I've read, it appears to be a reputable condo, but this policy worries me. I don't travel enough to know if this is common?
4 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoI will have 4 hours in Honolulu between flights. What can we do?
I will have 4 hours in Honolulu between flights. Is there anything within walking distance from the airport, or any free shuttles, since I obviously don't want to rent a car for 4 hours. There will be 9 of us.

We are getting the code of a cylinder 4 misfire, and don't know where "cylinder 4" is in the engine.
1 AnswerMercedes-Benz1 decade agoDoes anyone have a recommendation for a clean, inexpensive home to rent in Maui, or Oahu?
We're researching a family vacation to Hawaii, and I'm looking for a clean, inexpensive home to rent in Maui, or Oahu. We haven't decided which island to go to yet. There are 2 adults and 5 children, and we would want a kitchen. In case you're reading this, and it's your home, or a friends... my children are well-behaved and under control. :)
3 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoDoes anyone know how to make a salsa that looks like it has a bunch of black specks, and little or no tomato?
The salsa I'm talking about looks black and upon close inspection looks like water with tons of black specks (charred chilis?) and a little chopped tomato, onion, and cilantro maybe. And definitely garlic. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and have a recipe?
3 AnswersEthnic Cuisine1 decade agoShould I strain Dr. Oz's green drink?
Dr. Oz was on Oprah and made a "green drink". Celery, cucumber, parsley, lemon, lime, apple, and ginger blended in a blender. They never said to strain it, but wouldn't you have to?
10 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoCan this be good for a diabetic?
My father used to be a "diet controlled" diabetic, but after readings consistently over 300 his doctor has put him on insulin. He never did actually control his diet and he still doesn't. He often goes without eating any "real" food, and instead will go through at least 1/2 gallon of ice cream a day as well as cookies, brownies, rice pudding, limeade, sugary cereal, etc. I heard him talking to his doctor and he said "Now, if I go to a wedding or some other special occasion, and want a piece of cake, could I just take more insulin?" So I'm assuming he's just taking more insulin every day. He has a history of drug abuse (both prescription and illegal), and so he wouldn't hesitate to abuse insulin. He says his blood sugar is "under control" but he can't stay awake while watching tv or even a movie at the movie theater. His face and neck look purple. Basically, can it be good for a diabetic to eat all the sugar he wants and fight it with insulin?
