  • Divorce/mortgage/ownership?

My ex-husband and I bought property together in 1998, we had 3 kids and had been married 5 years - we split in 2004ish - I moved out as I had family here and he didn't. I waited a year to see if things would work out, which it didn't; he still wanted the divorce. We have joint custody of the kids, and joint tenancy of the property. I wanted to sell and he didn't, then the market began to crash and I didn't want to fight, as I needed to get my feet under me so I didn't push it (my bad). He has stayed in the home and paid the mortgage, while I found some place to rent for me and 3 kids.

We are both remarried - and he and I have begun speaking about what to do - and he told me that his paying mortgage didn't constitute renting my half of the property from me - this was a total surprise to me - and I want to know if anyone knows if it is true? As I have had to pay equivalent in rent to have a home for my 3 children as we have joint custody and neither one of us pays the other child support??

We were "discussing" options today and he told me sense he is paying the mortgage he now owns more than I do ..... that is not how i understood the law.

  • Why does the USA rank behind 39 other countries in infant mortality?

-Per capita US health spending is more than twice the average of other advanced countries.

-child mortality goes up when women have 11 years or less of education? (7.8/1000 compared to 4.2 if it 16 years or more) What? Education is Free here

(another is the extraordinary fact that 41 countries now have a longer life expectancy than does the US.)

    WHY? WHY? WHY?

  • Atheists primarily- Can you give me your thoughts on this one thing that just keeps me convinced there is ...?

A divine being. I am not religious. The older I get them more firmly I believe religions are primarily political.

    Here's my story:

When I was a young girl growing up on a farm we had a goat, who had her twins a week early after escaping out of the warm barn into the snow. Of course when we got home they were almost frozen to death. We rushed them inside and put them in warm water, dried them put them in front of the fire ..... one gave up, you could see it, the other lived with us for another 12 years.

In the moment of death something is gone and you are left with a corpse. What was there is gone ..... what is that? And how can it come from random chaos? And why do somethings (bodies) have it and others don't, if it is random?

As I said before: I am not religious .... I have studied many religions .... and therefor I am not religious. I think you understand where I am coming from. lol

This is my primary unanswered question. The question that my senses and science hasn't "proved" for me.

    Any thoughts?

  • Do you think a lack of belief in a "Supreme Being" should dictate worthiness to hold public office?

In 7 states in the US of A, if you don't believe in a "Supreme" being you may not hold office. But as long as you believe in 1 or more you may.

    hmmmmmm

what do you think .... about the right to freedom ..... the states are Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina's, South Carolina's, Tennessee, Maryland and Pennsylvania

  • Spiritually speaking: I was thinking, what if you get to heaven and you are reincarnated?

So many people seem to KNOW what happens when this mortal body returns to the earth .... but what if all the religions that told us we go to heaven/hell are wrong ... and actually we get there and go for another spin according to what we did in this last life? ????? What would happen ?

I am not sure what happens after this spin of time .... so I am wondering.....

  • What if when you died, God, the Divine, was not what your beliefs had told you?

What if as a Christian it was not the Christian God?

As a Muslim .... as a Buddhist, as a Wiccan ..... what ever you believe .... What if .....

What do you think would happen?

(a simular question is constantly asked to Atheists .... but what about those of us who do believe in divine being(s) ... what if it wasn't what we imagined?)

  • A Bible question ...?

Can some one please clarify for me, where God was before he sent Jesus? How did people learn to worship the "one true" God before Jesus? Or Moses? Or any other prophet/teacher of the "Christian" religion?

Or was he just not worshiped?

  • What is nothing?

When I try to conceive the idea of nothing it is usually darkness and space.

But both these things are something. Darkness and space is filled with microscopic energy.

    What is nothing?

  • Do you think about intentionally breeding people?

Today, a yahoo question came up, directed at pro-abortion. I don't know anyone who is pro-abortion?

But, hey, if we are against the idea of being pro-choice ... I was thinking, you know, why not have parents, or maybe even better the government chose our partner, and our job, and the food that is grown, and that we eat.

I felt that this is the level that we are getting to. Yes, l 'life', the right to life, and the right to die are hot topics ..... BUT ....

When we create laws, about what is essentially a moral issue .... there is so much death. So much resistance or you come up with governmental religion ..... and as far as I know, this is communism .... where 1 entity makes the choice for all.

    Just thinking

Today, it is a phone company can give your personal information to the Government ..... if the Government decides you are a terrorist .... and at this time to qualify for the title terrorist you only need to be an animal rights activist.

  • Did you know the USA government gives immunity to the telephone company that allows them information to spy?

    on US citizens?

What do you think about the long term consequences of this?

What about when there are no terrorists? (and did you know that if you are an animal rights activist you are considered a terrorist?)

  • What you think about this quote?

This is speaking in generalities, about the masses:

"Our spirituality has dried up into a religious tradition or emotional escapism."

  • Are these new laws really protecting us from terrorist or giving the Fed. gov./corporations more power?

This was on the news today. Along with the legality of wire tapping out phones! They can tap your phone! And you have NO LEGAL RECOURSE!

    It is all legal now.

Doesn't this sound really familiar? A little bit like an abusing parent, or other authority figure ...... "I am doing this, beating, taking away freedom, what ever ... for your own good. " And it doesn't get better until you leave.

  • Did you know that you can get fined if you sing Happy Birthday?

on the Youtube, or any other 'public' place?

The rights to the "Happy Birthday Song" is owned by a Time Warner subsidiary .... and you have to pay them to sing it!

Got any other ideas for a new 'FREE' birthday song?

  • What are you going to do about this?

The price of gas is up, making food more expensive. Many super market fresh foods travel over 2,000 miles, and on the list of 20 main "fresh" foods, the least amount traveled was 700 + miles.

As many of us know, this means for the food, to arrive ripe to its destination is pick green, and gassed on the road.

But now there is flooding in the wheat belt, and many fruit crops were damaged by the winds, late frost and fires in California. This now makes the supply less. (And we aren't even talking about corn prices going up because of bio-diesel, and the international disasters ...... )

Are you willing and able to spend 40% more on food? While gas is still going up?

If not, what are you going to do?
