  • Australia is a Christian nation: how is that so?

    (1) I'm certain the Christian part of the Holy Bible (the New Testament) emphasizes Christianity is a personal relationship between God and a person. Not like the Old Testament where the nation was judged on the king's sin.

What part of the Australian Constitution declares either secular or theocratic government?

    (2) Many people I meet from other nations confuse Christianity with Western culture, even when it's well-known that the 2 beliefs have been at odds for a long time. Some current Christian values were copied from European Enlightenment long after Christianity had an opportunity to force them, for example Electoral Democracy, Gender Equality, anti-Slavery, etc.

Australian politicians often talk about Western culture's Judeo-Christian tradition, yet is the "Judeo" part any more than The Ten Commandments (only 3 of these are still part of the legal system, and they're found in all religions)?

    (3) I know some practising Christians who have no patience with nominal (in name only) Christians who think listing a religion on a birth certificate makes that person Christian. As if the baby knows its religion, and as if that baby told its parents!

For those who label Australia up as a Christian nation, what practices set Christianity apart from other religions, and should it tolerate them?

  • NBA 7th game: who hosts it?

Occasionally, the NBA (or many other USA sports) goes the full championship / playoff series. That is, the 7th game of the best-of-7 series must be played.

    (1) How do they decide who will host this final game with its home advantage?

    (2) When do they announce it?

  • Do I have to provide a urine sample for playing in a sports comp (non-pro)?

Does an official have to witness that it is indeed my urine for dope-testing?

At what grades / ages of the non-professional competition does that start to apply?

  • Does India legally allow inter-species marriage, e.g. between human and dog.?

Or is this another example of people in the villages being a law unto themselves?

It occasionally gets a mention in oddball newstories, but never mentions the police opinion.

  • Should cricket player Andrew Symonds feel racially insulted?

At the Vadodara, India match on 11thOct2007, the local crowd made monkey-call noises when Symonds (mixed-race Australian) was fielding near the boundary.

Since Hindus have a monkey god, is this an insult or worship?

And, since India will tour Australia later this Sthn hemisphere summer, should Symonds bite his tongue now and wait for the Aussie fans to return the favour?

Especially since the Indian team complain at the drop of a hat when they feel insulted.

  • How do you edit a video clip back to its original?

Some clips on YouTube where people misbehaving don't want to be identified, they seem to have run a basic color / hue change.

I've saved the clip from YouTube. How do I reverse their editing process using Windows Movie Maker, or what better freeware is there?
