  • I ignored someone who really likes me. Again. He's angry, and I have no answer. What should I do?

I can't seem to act right around people anymore. Everything I say and the decisions I make come out completely a**holish. To be clear, this isn't in my nature at all, and I have no idea what's gotten into me. My friend is an actor, touchy, emotional, etc, but I've never seen him treat anyone like he did me. He didn't even acknowledge my presence. Don't misunderstand; I agree I deserve his response, but how do I fix this? What do I do? I have to see him at a shared event tonight. please help me.

  • Someone showed me a ring carved with words (latin I think) carved on a theatre floor, probably Shakespearean.?

I'm fairly certain the words are from a quote carved into a theatre floor somwhere, possibly the Shakepearean theatre in London. I know theratre people get rings with them carved in, but for the life of me I can neither find nor remember where they come from or what they say. A little help?

  • I want to move to New Zealand for half a year or so. What are the most important things I need to research?

I'm going to be moving to New Zealand next January from Vancouver, BC, for at least 6 months on a working holiday visa. I must confess I'm lost on the things I need to research or where to look for them. Anyone lived there or lives there who'd like to suggest things for me?

  • My cat has been throwing up all day, and it smells awful. Any ideas?

My cat was fine when I left this morning, but I came home and there was a lot of vomit in one area. It looks like he threw up undigested food, some hair, something unidentifiable, and lots of bile. He was quiet but more or less ok, then I went out and came back and he'd thrown up a couple more times and was voluntarily laying in the bathroom, his least favourite room. He threw up twice more in succession, so I put him in the bathroom to save my rugs.

He was fine until today. I haven't changed his food, but he did start a new bag of it last night. (Though he was fine last night and this morning.) Does any of this sound familiar? If in the morning he's thrown up during the night, I'm taking him to the vet.

  • I have a deep virus that redirects me like 7 times every time I try to follow a link on google. Help!?

I've tried Avast!, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and Tune-up Utilities; nothing will take this goddamn virus off my computer. When I search for something on Google it's fine, but the first time I click on any link on the results page, I get redirected through about 7 websites and end up at other search sites that look up my city or whatever. (Yellow pages: no results for <city name>.) Any ideas? This is driving me up the ******* wall.

  • I re-installed Xp after re-installing 98. I think I put up a small partition. Onlny 2 GB available of 120!Help?

I had to install 98 to wipe XP off after a fatal error. During the XP install, it asked if I wanted a big partition or small. I acidentally picked small. I figured it didn't matter since I was immediately overwriting it with xp. But now Xp is on and it says my HD is only 2 GB, when it's actually 120. Help! How do I fix this?

  • Where can I find friendly people to talk to?

I have a problem with my right eye and my right side skin is numb. My mother died of MS and my dad's family gets cancer and diabetes. I don't think there's actually anything permanent wrong with me, but I have no support network or anyone I can talk to. I just want a friendly ear and sympathetic heart.

  • My eyes don't see together recently. Now my right eye won't go all the way to the right, and I see double.

On friday I noticed that I was having trouble looking to the right. My eyes also felt strained. It's gotten much worse since then I can't look to the right properly at all; my left eye will go where it's supposed to, but the right eye stops 2/3rds of the way to the right. I now can no longer see one image when I look straight, though it doesn't really look like anything's wrong when I do so. Please help me.

  • I have hem tape but it doesn't seem adhesive...?

My hem tape came with weird, thin wires of plastic wrapped with the tape. Is this just for packaging? I wanted iron-on tape and was told this was it, but the "tape" seems just like a ribbon to me. I think I got hosed.

  • I can't find teh Editing command on Word 2007...?

I was told that there's an Editing command you can use that will separate your edits to a document so they can be seen and compared to the original. I really can't find it. Any ideas? Or is that just for older versions of Word?

  • I need info on Canadian taxes and estates and pensions...?

My mother died last year and was just about to recieve a bulk payment of her pension. That defaulted to me, but the government took 1/3 of it before I even saw it. Now the executor is trying to do the taxes for it, but is waiting for the disability T4s and whatnot, since she already has the T4 for the pension itself. I want to know a few things; will the gov't be taking more money for taxes, since they already did? Or was that a matter of taxing the pension and this is a different tax? My mother never actually received any of this money as income, since she died before the money came through. Will I get some of the taxed money back? Will my taxes take longer because it's for an estate? Please cite soureces.

  • I'm going to Europe for up to 3 months. What do I should I absolutely pack?

We're going to be backpacking and hopping from country to country. I've never been outside of Canada before, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I plan to bring my ukulele and DS, but are there any useful supplies or necessary paperwork I need?

  • How long can I keep mulled cider?

I made mulled cider almost 2 weeks ago, and the remainder has been sitting in my fridge ever since. I left the spices and cinnamon sticks in. My mate says it doesn't go bad, just ferments and becomes alcoholic, but I've never made it before so I don't know anything about it. Is it still ok to drink or should I chuck it?

  • Why does my network not automatically connect anymore when I turn my comp on?

For the past while, whenever I turn on my comp the network won't autoconnect. It's always off now and I have to repair the connection. Recently, though, there are many times when it won't or can't repair it at all, and I can't restart it I have to turn the power off and start it, then it's ok. Do you know wtf is wrong with this thing? It's getting really annoying.

  • My brain is fried. Can you help me with some mermaid concepts and cultures?

I'm writing up a race for a new roleplaying game some people I know are running. I am also currently playing this type of race in the game I'm in now, but I have to write all the background info because the people who wrote the game have none whatsoever.

I'm playing a mermaider demi-human; that is a human-shaped race with fish features and attributes. I have scales on most of my body and on my extremities, and webbed hands and feet. My face is normal, and any regular human skin I have is tinted blue.

I wrote a creation myth, but I need to write this character's backstory before the weekend, so I'm looking for ideas about cultures based in water, in different areas of the world, probably (or possibly) influenced by the human cultures in each area. I also need cultural biases, beliefs, goals, religion, etc.

I'm not asking you guys to write anything, just to give me any interesting factiods about marine life, water culture, human cultures in locations around water, that stuff.

  • Do I have to claim my inheritance on my taxes...?

...since the gov't already taxed it and the executor has to file income tax for it? It is a pension, not a life insurance policy. The gov't already took about 1/3rd of it, though I think I will potentially be getting that back. What are the rules for pensions and inheritance, and do I have to claim them on my taxes? Canadian tax law only, please, and please show a reference (i.e. Canadian gov't webpage.)
