  • Information about Clinicals during Health Programs?

I am very interested in enrolling in a Diagnostic Sonography program....and am aware that clinical are required. Can you tell me how clinicals tend to work--do you work a full 8 hour day? is your shift the same? I am a 27 y/o divorced mom of one and need to ensure that I can handle clinicals and still work my current full time job. I have the convenience of working from home with my job now and can work anytime between 6 am and 11 pm (as long as I get in 8 hours).....any info/tips/suggestions GREATLY appreciated!! :) thank you!

  • Obtaining a Degree in Sonography--can it be done with working full time?

Hi! I've always been extremely interested in the radiology/sonography field and have recently given serious thought to enrolling in school and following my dreams.

BUT I am a single mom to one (8 yr old) and would have to continue to work full time while in school--I should be able to begin the program courses immediately as I should have all pre-req done (currently hold Associate Degree).

Is it possible to complete this degree as a single mom working--not sure if clinicals are required or how long those last. thanks so much for any information you can provide!

  • Difference/Benefit to using lawyer for child support vs DFACS?

What would be the benefit to using/paying for an attorney to obtain child support instead of just using your local Department of Family and Children Services?? Thanks!

  • What is considered back child support?

Does this begin at the time of birth? Or at the time of a court order?

My son is now 8, and his dad has never paid child support--but was incarcerated from 2003-2009. And even now that he's back home and working, he isn't providing care for his son. I would like to begin child support but wonder if there is any way to also get some form of help for the previous 8 years!!!

  • History of Miscarriage--Currently bleeding slightly, should I go to ER?

Hi, I had a miscarriage last August...am currently 5-6 weeks pregnant, having slight bleeding today and abdominal pressure. Is there any reason to go to the ER, or should I just allow nature to takes its course? I'm not real sure what the hospital could do for me.....and I'd rather cry in my own home than the hospital, you know? Any sincere assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Financial Advice, to keep the home or not?

I live in a house <that I hate> which I overpaid for and now probably owe 20,000 more than I would ever get for the home. My boyfriend has run my credit card debt up. and is now leaving us. My 2 choices are:

    1) co-sign on a student loan for him which he says he will use to pay off the truck he has in both our names and the credit cards he's run up. Then I continue to live in my house and have no more debt, until the loan comes due although he swears he'll pay it--I'm worried about trusting that. I would have never expected him to hurt my credit the way he did. OR

    2) file bankruptcy, move into an apartment, and hope I never have to have my credit pulled for any future employment.

(in case it's needed: i have an 8 year old son, I'm 27, Live in GA).

Anyone's words, experience, etc would be really helpful and most

    appreciated thanks!

  • How did you feel after filing bankruptcy?

Was it a sigh of relief--allowing you a "clean slate" and providing the opportunity to better budget your money, kind of a lesson learned. Or was it something that hurt you? I've been reading about bankruptcy, trying to get a better understanding of the process and read it's one of the 5 most dramatic events that can occur to a person (compared to divorce and death of a loved one)--was it that devestating? If you've filed, would you recommend it? thanks

  • Change in cycle with pelvic pain?

I have been experiencing pelvic pain for a while. I used to have very regular cycles but for the past few months (esp since a miscarriage in August) have bled lightly for a few days, then nothing for a few days, then a normal cycle for a few days and repeat. I also am having about 30 days between cycles. My doctor said we can't do anything about it if I want children, which I do--but I am worried if something is wrong, it may be preventing me from having kids. Concerned! Any advice or suggestions or ideas of what may be the problem would be most appreciated.

Can you suggest a color for the front door (i'll be buying a new door all together). It's a small home.

    Thanks

  • Why was there often a cup left in the freezer door/icemaker on the Golden Girls?

I love watching reruns of the Golden Girls and often notice in the kitchen scenes there is a coffee cup left sitting in the freezer door where you'd place a glass for ice.....does anyone know the story behind why they did that? It's just one of those things i've always wondered. :) thanks a million!!!

  • new to exercise--have a question?

They say you have to burn more calories than you consume in order to lose weight. I went to the gym today and walked on the treadmill for an hour at a 3.5-3.8 speed, burning about 500 calories. If I consume a 1200 calorie a day diet (as per my MD), I would have to exercise for 3 hours a day!! This is overwhelming for someone who is out of shap, has a family, works full time and goes to school at night.

Am I missing something? How is it possible to burn more than you eat and still eat ENOUGH to be healthy.

Wanna get healthy but so discouraged--please advise!! thanks a bunch

  • Comparing online schools: Ashford and AIU?

My boyfriend is interesting in beginning courses with either Ashford or AIU online schools; I am trying to see which is the "better" option based on tuition rates and how long each program takes to complete. I am having trouble finding this information online---any help with finding this information would be greatly appreciated!

  • Solving for density with different measurements.?

I know density is solved by mass/volume. But I am confused because Mass is in grams and Volume is in mL. It asked for Density (g/mL). Do i have to somehow convert the measurements.

One example I have is 99 g for Mass and 44 mL for Volume. Do I just do 99/44=2.25. or should I be converting something first, and how do I do that, please?

Thanks so much from an old lady back in school! :)
