2 AnswersOther - Computers7 years agoWhat is a good portable dog bowl and portable dog bed?
I am looking to buy a portable dog bowl and bed. For the bowl, his current portable bowl slides all over the place when he eats/drinks and there is really no way to secure it so it doesn't. It needs to be something that collapses/folds up and doesn't move. For the bed, I have seen the ones where they will roll up so something like that might work. Does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoQuestions about Fountain Pens?
I have recently started using some of the modern fountain pens with the ink pump converters. The pens I have used are the lower end ($5) fountain pens from China that I have bought online. Many of them work well for about a month or so and then they just stop writing smoothly or writing at all. They do see very steady use as I have to refill them with ink about every 5-6 days. Are the issues with the pens not writing due to the (lesser) quality of the nibs? Also, I have an issue with my wrist so I need thicker type pens. For example, the Waterman Phileas is too thin and causes additional discomfort. The Jinhao Chinese pens in terms of grip are thicker and work better but as I said after a month I start having problems with them. So, what might be a pen that would last longer but won't be super expensive and has a fairly thick grip?
Thanks in advance
1 AnswerDrawing & Illustration8 years agoWhat is the value of this antique trombone?
I recently came across an antique trombone. It is marked "USMC" and the manufacturer is listed as "C.G. Conn Co, Elkhart, Indiana." I have scoured google and can't find any results for this trombone with the USMC marking which seems to be the unique part of this item. I know the vintage Conn trombones are quite valuable, but am having a hard time coming up with additional information on this one. Any help on further info about this trombone and its potential value would be appreciated. Thanks.
2 AnswersOther - Music1 decade agoHow do I setup a home intercom?
We have a need in our home for an intercom that would function from one room in the back corner of the house out to the kitchen. This is not a big distance, but we have some people in our family who can't hear very well.
I don't know the best way to go about this. Is there a phone I can get where the intercom would work going through the speakerphone. I don't really want a house-wide intercom system as it is un-nessary. We've tried walkie talkies but the battery life isn't very good. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerLand Phones1 decade agoWhat's this necklace worth?
I am wondering if someone with jewelry expertise could give me an approximate value on this necklace I recently bought at a local auction. I have posted a picture at flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/9553958@N02/442484828...
I know it is Sterling with turquoise and a pearl. It has an engraved 925 on the bottom which I know indicates it is .925 sterling silver. I have searched both eBay and google for similar necklaces to find out the value with no luck, so I am hoping that someone with some jewelry expertise can help me out. Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoWhat is the best way to frame an old letter and baseball card in the same frame?
I have a standard 8 1/2 by 11 letter from over 20 years ago along with a signed baseball card. I want to frame the letter and card together. I would prefer not to glue/staple/damage the card in any way. I would like the card to appear in the frame right on the top right corner, where there is a blank space in the letter. Also, is there type of special frame I should get to prevent any type of yellowing of the card? Is this a do it yourself type job or do I need to go to a custom frame shop? Thanks in advance for any help.
1 AnswerPhotography1 decade agoWhat device would you recommend for internet surfing?
I am currently looking for an easily portable device for wifi internet access. I would like to be able to surf the internet and check e-mail with this device. I do not want to pay the expensive data charges so I'm not looking for a phone to do this. I am wondering if perhaps an ipod touch is a good option? I have also heard good things about the mini computers such as the Asus. I am looking for something that I can take with me at all times easily. I do not want to lug around a heavy laptop. Thanks in advance for any help.
3 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoVB How to clear text boxes on event?
I have a VB program which contains a form that does basic calculations. What I want to do is clear the text box on the text changed event. The problem is that I enter the code in the sub (with the text changed event) such as txtName.text = "" and it prevents me from entering any values initially. Anyone know how to accomplish this?
4 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoMicrosoft Access 2003 help with search box?
I have an Access database with several thousand records. I am trying to create a user interface to allow users easier access for searching the database. So, I have created a form. On this form, I have two search boxes. I have a combo box and a list box. The list box works fine, it sorts by most recent record (by most recent date), which is fine but with several thousand records it is not a viable option for looking up records for a couple months back. So, I have a combo box setup that allows the users to search the database for the particular ID number. This works fine except that there are multiple entries for each ID number and only one of these records is being displayed. I want it to show all of the records for the ID number. When I try to advance to the next record, it shows me a totally different ID number. Any thoughts on how to solve this so when an ID number is entered all of the records for that ID number are displayed? It also seems like it is not filtering the results.
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoPHP/MySql Scripting Issue?
This is part 2 of my PHP/MySql Scripting issue. Part 1 was asked and answered here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhRkZ... but my script is still not working. The short version of the story is I am trying to create a registration form and database for my site. I used godaddy's mySQL interface to set up my database. But, I am getting these errors:
Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/content/w/e/e/mysite/html/reg... on line 15
Warning: mysql_numrows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/content/w/e/e/mysite/html/reg... on line 16
Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/content/w/e/e/mysite/html/reg... on line 27
Unfortunately, I don't have the space here to post my codes. If someone could email me (thecondutor9@yahoo) and help me through this I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoA small object is 25.0 cm from a diverging lens. A converging lens with a focal length of 12.0 cm is 30.0 cm?
Question from college physics class:
A small object is 25.0 cm from a diverging lens. A converging lens with a focal length of 12.0 cm is 30.0 cm to the right of the diverging lens. The two-lens system forms a real inverted image 17.0 cm to the right of the converging lens. What is the focal length of the diverging lens?
I have tried using the textbook's equations for combination of lenses, but I can't seem to get this problem correct. Any help on what combination of equations to use would be most appreciated. Thanks.
1 AnswerPhysics1 decade agoI'm having problems with a PHP script for a registration form on my website.?
I have my website hosted with goDaddy. I'm trying to create a registration form and login system. What I want to do is be able to allow users to register and then be able to keep track individually of each user's account balance when they login. So, what I did was use godaddy's SQL interface to create a table. Then, I used those same fields I created in the table and modified an exisiting PHP registration script I found online to accomodate my data fields. The problem is that I keep getting a socket error when entering registration information. Godaddy tech support insists that it is an issue with my script and not with their SQL software. Unfortunately, there is not enough room to copy the entire script here but I followed the script from the following website: http://evolt.org/php_login_script_with_remember_me...
The script on my website is located at www.weeklydraftleague.com/registration.php
Any suggestions or ideas?
