I need to write a character who's very sycophantic while also being extremely self-aggrandizing. 

Like he's sucking up to the guy in charge but also taking the attitude of "all your problems are now solved simply because I've turned up!" 

What are some interesting & characterful words that he can use?

I'm not asking for a word for a person who has an irrational fear of such objects, just someone who has a disliking for them.

P.S. I'm asking for a specific label, not simply just "they're called normal" or some answer like that.

Purely out of curiosity, if a person was in a really dangerous position & only the fire brigade were allowed to retrieve them but this person was considered armed & dangerous so only the police are allowed to approach them what would the procedure be for that situation?

In this dream there was lots of things that I don't remember but I do remember the end.

I remember there was a a girl (not someone I know from real life) wearing grey winter clothes in a big snowy field & she was looking really happy & was playfully trying to get me to chase her. I followed her behind a building where I seen a carousel filled with happy children & when I seen this the words "How can you not be happy around all these smiling kids" (I don't know is someone said that or if the words just came into my head) & then I started feeling genuinely happy. Which is strange for me as I'm not a child person (or even a people person for that matter).

Along time ago I remember seeing a documentary where two men were discussing a gold hat that archaeologist had found under ground. The hat was sort of rocket shape & absolutely huge, taller than a person. The man was saying it was the hat of an ancient wizard & must be insanely heavy & the other man told him he could try it on. When he tried it on it sat on his head perfectly & said it wasn't heavy at all (bare in mind it was made of solid gold & taller than a person). I allways remembered watching this program & years later in my adult years when I was thinking about it the absolute ludicrousness of it & decided to try to find it. Unable to I came to the conclusion it was probably a dream. If so I'd like some insight into what it may mean. Thanks.

Everyone knows the story about the English & German soldiers walking into nomans land & fraternising during the unofficial truces of Christmas 1914 but how do we actually KNOW that the soldiers played football with each other? What evidence is there that that's actually what they did?
