  • illegal to tow a vehicle from private property?

last night me and some friends were in my car at a resturaunt parking lot. we were hit by a semi at low speed while I was parked with the car off. I did not have insurance, but my car was towed. I know I should get a ticket (which I did) but is it legal for a cop to have my vehicle towed, without having permission to tow from what im assuming is private property? there was minimal damage and It wasn't obstructing anyone. it was still in its parking spot.

  • 99 grand am gt overheating?

my gf's car is a 99 grand am gt 3400 auto 130k roughly, these engines as we all know are notorious for bad lower intake gaskets, so far we have replaced the upper and lower intake gaskets, the rear head gasket (I stripped a bolt hole on one rocker arm while torqueing it down) apparently these motors were common for that too, but I just went ahead and replaced the head and gasket, replaced thermostat and gasket, heater hose adapter (which broke while replacing intake gasket) water pump, flushed the heater core and bled the car a million times, the car has no water in the oil, but after driving it the temp hand will go above 210 roughly 220 maybe and then cool down to about operating temperature, sometime the car runs hotter but ive noticed if you get out, shut the car off and open the bleeder, air/steam comes out, when you start the car again the temp is 10-20 degrees cooler and runs fine until its parked again, when the engine is revved you can hear water flow through the heater core (gushing sound) no leaks, then the heat will work fine but at idle the heat goes out. im thinking maybe I over torqued or improperly installed the new gasket or the intake may have warped, and one else have an opinion, appreciate the help guys/girls.
