Find the first 4 terms and the eighth term of the recursively-defined sequence.?
c_1=2
c_2= -1
and
c_k+2 = c_k+ c_ k+1 for k >= 1
Now, I know how to get c_1 to c_4.
c_1 and c_2 are given.
c_3 = c_1+ c_2 = 2+ -1 = 1
c_4 = c_2+ c_3 = -1+1 = 0
I could just manually keep on going until c_8, but is there an easier way? A formula maybe? I have yet to find out how to do this... Note, it is a recursive arithmetic sequence with a subset k+2, not k+1. What if I was told to find out the 17th term???

So I have a dilemma. I have to figure out which 4 numbers of these add up to 271.12? I have no idea if it is possible, I'm 90% sure. Is there a website or a formula to use to figure this out?

The question 3e^(5x)=1, find x to the nearest thousandth.
The e isn't a variable, it's euler's number.
Help! I'm absolutely stumped. Converting to log seems wrong, since I get log1...
6 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoQuestion from a full-time student about tax filing?
I am a full-time student. I work after school. Now, my W-2 forms came in for the 2010 year. My dad uses turbotax to do the taxes, so he did the same for me. But, the taxes came out to be $0 for both federal and state (NY) taxes. According to my boss, this happens because I am a full-time student. Full time students apparently do not have to pay taxes.
Now, the question is, my dad is concerned if I still have to file in my taxes, cuz that costs money. If I don't have to, obviously we will not so that we can save money. My boss says that I shouldn't have to file it in, but I would like to get double checked by Yahoo answers.
Do I still have to file my tax forms and stuff in even though I have no taxes?

Now, I was having a convo with my dad about debts in Japan. According to this : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_... Japan is BURIED with debts, and growing, moreso than the US. If they have so much debts, why do they spend so much like give $$$ to US or help 3rd world countries? Can they really do that without some major damage to itself?
4 AnswersEconomics1 decade agoHow do you use TilEm for a TI-84+ graphing calculator?
I know that TilEm can be used to emulate a TI-84+ calculator, which I own. I would like it on the computer too. I am not experienced with Gtk+, which TilEm uses. There is a readme included in the TIlEm download but it is very confusing. Can somebody tell me step by step instuctions on how I can use TilEm. I already have the ROM files. I have already installed Gtk+ Runtime Environment which (I think) is needed for TilEm. The computer I use is Windows XP 64-bit. If you need a copy of the readme, need more info from me, or prefer to email me the steps, you can e-mail me at yoshigoto123@hotmail.com. Thanks!
TilEm can be found here: http://lpg.ticalc.org/prj_tilem/
1 AnswerProgramming & Design1 decade agoWhat are all the criminal offenses of that time that occurred during the Emmett Till Murder?
Aside from the obvious of murder, of course.
For example, when the fisherman found Emmett in the river, he immediately buried Emmett without his mother's permission; is that against the law?

A lot of people, during email, IMing or forum posting, create characters such as bunnies, stick people or words using the keyboard lines, o's, 0's, and other keys on the keyboard.
Also, I read somewhere that Japanese people are very good at this "picture-making."
Do you know what these are called?
Thanks,
Yoshi
