Empath, single parent, horror writer, bipolar, got a mutt who's worthless (okay, he's actually one of God-G-d-Hashem-Allah's) gifts to me. Recent events have me questioning the motives of anyone in a position of authority and that's coming out in my new novel. The outlaw in my ancestry is starting to feed my blood. I refuse to allow anyone to alter my internal value system without using the tools of reason and logic. Force, intimidation and pain will never change who I am. I'm too strong for such abuse. I'm only 29. Why do I sometimes feel like I'm 89? "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter." Martin Luther King

  • What kind of trauma is necessary to develop PTSD?

Does it have to be death, a physical attack or serious injury or threat of such or similar possibilities to loved ones? Can severe emotional abuse lead to PTSD over a long period of time? The physical loss of an extremely important person with that person being used as part of the emotional abuse? Constant betrayal and loss?

  • If a parent moves to another city, does a county have to move the child to foster care close to the parent?

The GAL wants to move her because the only way I can get affordable housing is to move to another county which is 150 miles away. At the moment I'm in a one room trailer with my father which is not acceptable for my daughter. My therapist was at the last MDT meeting and claims that the DFS/CPS at the county which has her is way too hostile and not appropriate in their dealings with this case at all. The workers are too emotionally involved in this case. The GAL seems to be seeing this too. The city where I live is too overcrowded, houses are selling at sky high prices and waiting lists for very expensive apartments are six to ten months. I've already found several places in another town, but need to be able to get my child away from the clutches of this DFS system (they are known for being the most overzealous DFS/CPS in the state, primarily because the judge is biased and they can get away with whatever they want). BTW, this is Wyoming.

  • Brother's addictions, stopping enabling, dealing with monetary issues?

It's an odd situation. My brother who is in his 40s has several addictions (gambling, meth, possibly others) and the family has cut him off from all monetary assistance. However, he has taken out loans from some less savory individuals and we're worried about his safety. My mother recently passed and locked her will until her house is sold. We don't know the reason for the lock on the will. If he gets his inheritance (and my mother didn't put in a stipulation on him getting his money), it'll be gone, but if we can stop it from going to him we can stop the physical harm from the loans. I realize we can't keep him safe forever unless he gets treatment, but I also realize he won't get help until he's ready for it or if it's forced he'll probably relapse. Can we, as a family, withhold inheritance from him to pay the loan? Does anyone have any advice for convincing him to want treatment? I don't believe an intervention will work with him.

  • Does DFS/CPS have the power to stipulate who a person lives with before reunification?

Or require that the parent live alone? I'm living with my 72 year old father who has macular degeneration and will require care for the rest of his life. DFS/CPS knows this. Yet they are requiring that I choose between my duty to my parent and my child. Is this legal?

  • Is vinegar an adequate remedy for poisoning by ingestion of the alkolide lycorine? And anyone know...?

what daffodil bulbs taste like (in a stew if you've been confused by the appearance)? I'm trying to avoid hands-on research for my novel if at all possible. I think a small dose would be fine, but after how this year started, I really don't want to take a chance.

  • Am I evil for thinking foster care is better than having my daughter placed with my cousin?

My cousin constantly lies about me to keep my daughter in her custody. She told DFS that I was planning to kidnap my daughter to make me lose visitation. Additionally she has played psychiatrist and told DFS that my disorders do not exist and that I have other disorders that don't apply to me. She kept DFS from getting guardianship to my brothers in South Dakota in order for my daughter to have time with my dying mother (who she was very close to) while I made sure my disorder was under control by telling DFS that none of my family wanted her back there (a total lie). DFS did not follow up. She also lied and said I attempted suicide in front of my daughter three years before. Didn't happen. Someone told my daughter not to talk to her therapist about family things (it was blamed on me, but I'm sure it was my sister). I feel that this is so detrimental to my daughter. She's being told horrible things about me and I even refuse unsupervised visitation because I want our visits recorded.

  • Can someone translate "What Pursues You" into Latin please?

I only had one year of Latin many, many years ago and I've forgotten most of it. Online translators aren't reliable. Thank you for your help.

  • Stress Overload. How much can a person take?

October: My mother fell and broke her hip and wrist. I lost custody of my daughter. My sister, who has my daughter, began to lie about me in order to keep my daughter.

November: My untreated bipolar sends me into a manic state. My mother has a stroke and calls me. I call 911. While she's in the hospital, she's diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has to tell me because my sister promised she would and chose to withhold information. My sister spends time trying to convince my mother to give her items.

December: I spend some time caring for my mother--cleaning her accidents, sponge bathing her, bringing her food. My sister claims I'm going to kidnap my daughter and I lose all visitation.

January: I overdose on 80 pills on the 4th. I'm hospitalized and get treated for bipolar. Despite family being close, I have no visitors. For the first time in ages, I'm stablized. I was evicted from my apartment. I'm dealing with life well despite my issues.

  • How can I get across to my family that I know what I'm talking about with our inheritance?

I'm the baby of the family--13 years younger than my youngest blood related sibling. I'm also bipolar. My mother gave birth to ten children, nine of whom are still living, and adopted one (J) who is two years older than me. I have had problems J since October when I began seeing through her lies, but none of my family would listen.

Once my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, J immediately began listing what she wanted of my mother's items. She was one of two family member's with a key to my mother's house (she took one from my mother and I assue my mother was too weak to protest--my mother was living with my brother (G), who had the other key). As the cancer progressed, my mother moved to spend time with another brother in another state. We would go visit and J would spend the entire time keeping everyone away from my mother and asking her if she could certain items.

After my mother passed in February, we noticed several expensive items missing from the house.

  • What causes a person to go power crazy as opposed to those who don't?

Some can be given a lot of power and use it appropriately, but others fly off the handle with it and become control freaks. Why?

  • Poll: Do you think it's appropriate for an 8 year old child to play a teen rated game for an hour?

With an adult in the same room but not monitoring what the child is doing? This 8 yo child is playing an online role playing game. The adult is on another computer playing a different computer game. Two other younger children are in the house and no other adults are in the house. In the interest of fairness, the four year old child is also given an hour online playing the same teen rated game with the same amount of supervision.

  • On the Bizarre Foods Commercial with Andrew Zimmerman, What kind of snail is he eating?

It's when he goes into the office break room and he has the feet on ice in the Ziplock Container and the worms, and everyone leaves the room. I believe it is a snail because it has a shell. He cuts into it toward the end.

    Looks yummy :)

  • Poll. Would you be willing to betray your entire family for $80-100,000?

That's in USD. That doesn't include husband and children because they'll benefit from your betrayal. If you take the $80-100,000 (probably more like $80,000 unless you do a lot of work) you'll lose your brothers, sisters, mother, father, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. All the family you were close to. The ball is in your court.

  • Chance of stopping theft of home?

If a woman lived in a home for 21 years with her name on the deed with her husband for 11 when they divorced. Four years later she put the house in her adopted daughter and blood child's name in order to get a mortgage refinanced. Three years later her child by blood needed to sign the deed over to the adopted daughter due to financial problems. During these years and up to March, 2008, this woman has been responsible for the payments on utilities, mortgages, taxes and insurance. She passed away on February 19th, 2008. All of her 9 surviving children know the reason for the deed not being in her name (not to mention a plethora of other witnesses) and her will includes the house. Is there a chance of keeping the adoptive daughter from stealing the house outside of probate? We have physical labor liens we can place to prohibit sale, but we would like to see my mother's will disbursed.

This should be a lesson to everyone who thinks they can trust anyone.

  • My dog has spasms in his face while sleeping?

I know that dogs often move their legs and "oof" while dreaming, but I've never had one that had face spasms and nothing else. He's a neutered Queensland Heeler Mix, about 1 1/2 years old from the local pound. Although he's medium sized, he thinks he's a lap dog and often sleeps on me (something I don't mind--I was looking for a lap dog when I found him). His immunizations are current and he's in good health otherwise. Is this something to worry about or just a normal thing I should just let pass?

  • Should I agree to a consent decree?

The State took my child because I had her in my mother's dirty home. I have fought for my Constitutional rights because CPS here is very overzealous. We are four days from my jury trial and the State is offering a consent decree stating that I admit to taking my child into my mother's dirty home and cooperate with DFS and they will put aside the charges. If I fail to cooperate then they can refile (They have very little on me, and the possibility of me winning a jury trial is good, however, there is a possibility of me losing. Who knows what a jury will do? They know they will win with the judge because he is biased, but a jury won't be). CPS has withheld my visitation with my daughter for two months in order to try to force me to admit to neglecting my daughter. I refuse to admit to what I didn't do, but I do admit that I took her to my mother's dirty house. I will continue to fight despite this, but I'm torn. Any advice?
