Is there one that isn't so one sided? Something that has two points of view perhaps. I feel like every book I find on amazon seems like its either saying Islam is the most evil thing in the world, or the greatest, most peaceful philosophy that never hurt anyone. I want to find something more reasonable. Even the Koran gets translated a million different ways. It's ridiculous.

I have heard a lot of my liberal friends say they want to take away tax exempt status for churches who promote a political view. I don't completely disagree with this concept, but wouldn't that have to be applied fairly to all non-profits who are partisan. That would mean no breaks for moveon.org, Students of Liberty, Freedomworks, ACORN, and many more groups. Wouldn't such a law be religious discrimination?

I'm not talking about people like Charlie Sheen. I'm talking about some one respected like a politician or notable college professor. Not trying to start a fight, just curious, so don't be nasty.

I recently heard a liberal try to convince me that there never has been a true communist country. He was serious. I guess these communist apologists don't understand the concept of failure. There hasn't been a communist country because it FAILS every time. If you don't agree, just look at every country that has tried. It's safe to say the results are totalitarian governments, mass graves, and poverty. From the USSR to Cuba to North Korea to the several African countries who had communist revolutions.

The definition of insanity is continually repeating the same behavior and expecting different results.

Obama sits on the throne pretending to be the great uniter while the far left in the house and blue dogs can't agree on the fundamental DNC issue of health care. 60 senate seats, a huge majority in the house, and the white house, but no consensus. Is this poor leadership?

I feel like they are always whining about inequality. get over it and make something of yourself. If you live in the US, you are of the 2% wealthiest people in on the planet. Enjoy it and do something to help your fellow man, quit telling other people what they should be doing. Life isn't fair. It never will be. No one is holding you back but yourself.

I feel like the history channel has a bit of a conservative spin to it. My history professor told me that historians in general are conservative minded, especially in the US. Or does history just back up conservative ideas.

Members of the house and senate make about 150,000 dollars a year. Doesn't that make you sick? I live in Michigan where people are losing their jobs left and right. 150,000 is three times the average household income where I live. What a disgrace. Whose with me?

would you ever date someone who was completely on the other side of every issue. I don't know if i could, I could handle a few disagreements, but some of them come down to the most fundamental values i believe in.

The Likud have a bad rep with the conspiracy theorists and a lot of anti war groups. But their platform is for free markets, strong defense, and they are very socially liberal (support gay rights, equal protection, women's rights, environmentally friendly). Don't you wish we had a party in the US that was like them?

congress has an approval of 22% according to an article on the front page of the Wall Street Journal today. I'm not trying to provoke anyone, but what about your representatives do you like or dislike?

I saw a commentary about inequality of pay. Apparently women make a little bit more than men when you take into account the number of hours worked and adjust for industry. For example, a lot of industries that are traditionally dominated by women, are lower paying industries, but within industry, there is no inequality of pay. Basically, the whole "77 cents for every dollar" thing doesn't take into account the fact that a lot of women decide to take time off work to bear and raise children and some jobs are just done by men more often or vice versa. Any thoughts?

on this website keep saying smears about Beck and Rush and never ask any questions of substance. It's always "beck is racist" "Rush is a pedophile" "palin is stupid" they can't seem to use real facts to discuss anything. Is this a sign that they are losing in the marketplace of ideas?
