Am looking for a Long-Game Multiplayer RTS to play with friends?
I like Real Time Strategy Games. I like them with friends. I do not, however, like Competitive, or Short-game Play. I enjoy being able to play large maps, build great bases (but not city-management, like city-builders generally have), and enjoy relatively casual, yet hour long or so games.
Are there any games like this? As far as RTS games go, I don't mind something that doesn't follow the traditional AoE, or War/Starcraft formula.
Any thoughts? Recommendations? I can run anything suitable for Windows, and my Rig can handle anything. (I prefer Medieval Themes, to modern/space themes)
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games7 years agoWhy did Congress make LaFayette an Honorary citizen, when he became a citizen in his own time?
It just seems redundant. And even more redundant with William Penn, considering he lived before the United States was even a concept.
What was the point??? Just to waste time?
1 AnswerHistory8 years agoWhy was Europe full of Kingdoms, and Principalities, and Duchies and such; was there some kind of prestige?
Why were they not all just Kingdoms. Why so many different titles for essentially the same function?
I know a bit about this kind of thing, but not so much why the distinction was there.
2 AnswersHistory8 years agoCould anyone find me a pre Formula-1 grand-prix style racing game?
By Pre-Formula 1, I mean European automobile Racing before, before 1950.
Keeping it old school, like this: http://www.posters-n-prints.com/zoom/monaco-grand-...
Preferably for PC, PS2, or gamecube
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games8 years agoThe Crimean Goths. How long were they there, if the Goths originally came from the Baltic?
So, if the Goths originally came from the Baltic Coast, and move South east towards the black sea. Before being pushed west by the Steppe invasions. Many Goths remained in Crimea. And thrived for a while. About how long were they there for (when they arrived. And when the last mention of them arrived, or they were completely assimilated with other cultures)
And did they interact at all with the Varangian kingdoms and explorers/mercenaries that came down towards the black sea?
2 AnswersHistory9 years agoHow many of the Goths who settled in Spain, managed to outlast the Moorish occupation?
Meaning. The Goths who settled in what is modern Spain, managed to resist the Moorish Occupation until the Reconquista.
Or did they all intermarry with the new population?
2 AnswersHistory9 years agoQuestion (thought) about Atlantis, and the Hebrew Mythology?
I don't know of Atlantis existing in Hebrew Mythology. But according to other Cultures, [Sumerian and Greek in particular], Atlantis existed thousands of years before their time. 9,000 according to Plato. c10,000BCE
But, in biblical timelines, the Earth is relatively young, roughly 6000BCE
So I'm curious, if combining the cultures. Assuming that there is any relation (which there definitely is). Possibly after the destruction(loss) of Atlantis. Did one god of the many, recreate Life himself, and hold them towards his ideals, so they would not suffer the same fate as 'Atlantis'. (Granted at one time, he did try to destroy everything (similarly to Atlantis), but saved a few.
The thought came into my mind, as I'm currently studying (somewhat) Sumerian History and Mythology, and drawing it together with Hebrew History and Mythology (cuz I do that).
Bonus Question: Is the Hebrew God more similar to Enki, or Enlil of Sumerian Myth?
3 AnswersMythology & Folklore9 years agoWhen Abraham Lincoln suspended Habeus Corpus in the Civil War, was he essentially declaring himself dictator?
I'm saying this. Because I never actually thought about relating this concept to Ancient Rome. In which, in times of War, and imminent threat, they appointed Dictators.
And I realized that this was a very similar situation to the majority of those times in Rome's Past.
6 AnswersHistory9 years agoWhen Cain was punished by God, to wander the Earth, forever, did he die in the flood?
There is no mention of him after his punishment really. Did he succumb to old age, or was the flood his untimely end?
Does no one know, as it's never mentioned?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy exactly to 'headbanging' and 'devil horns' occur at Heavy Metal Concerts?
I'm a fan of Heavy Metal. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, all that good stuff. But I never understand why, when looking at videos of concerts, or actually being there. That almost everyone is just some mindless puppet.
When I listen to these guys, I recognize the lyrics, the skill, and the meaning. Amazing artists. I can understand having fun at a place like this. But how is that fun?
At concerts I really have no idea what to do myself, since I'm just listening to music. I talk to my friends about the music. That's what I decide to do.
Do these people just have no idea what to do?
Quite perplexing if I do say so my self.
4 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoWouldn't Thor just totally kick Superman's little butt?
There was a comic about this. I didn't bother reading it. Because I only found about it after talking with my friends about who would win in fights between Marvel Superheroes/Villains and DC ones.
And Thor came up a few times for me. With different adversaries.
Thor vs Magneto
Thor vs Wolverine
Thor vs Superman
But the thing that came to me in the argument, was something I wasn't aware of until recently. That apparently Superman has a weakness towards Magic. And Thor is about as Magical a being as you can get (aside from Mandarin [who I'd also like to pit against Superman]).
So, other than a straight answer. Something interesting with good detail would be the prime answer I'm looking for. Who would win? (under whatever circumstances you want)
3 AnswersComics & Animation9 years agoWho would you consider as the most Idyllic Kings in Histories Past?
Kings, who you would want to be king.
People like Alexander III of Macedonia
Cyrus II of Persia
Ramses II
David
Hanno
Qín Shǐ Huáng
Anyone. As long as they were a King. Who held your most Ideal beliefs and thoughts, in how to rule?
2 AnswersHistory9 years agoCan someone tell me about the "Anti-Norman Theory", of the History of 'Russia'?
I know the more well known, and accepted theory of Russian History. In that the Varangians sailed from their homelands, and Holmgard (Novgorod), through Russia and into Kiev, and past the Bosphorus into Miklagard (Constantinople).
That the Varangians founded the Kievan-Rus', and begun the History of the Russian Kingdoms/Empires.
But, the Russians of course, would dislike this theory. And refuted it. And had their own theories. Theories which are probably quite Nationalistic, and not really taught in our Western Schools.
So can anyone help me with these theories?
1 AnswerHistory9 years agoNew motherboard installation problem, no video..no beeps?
I got a new Motherboard. ASUS M5A99X EVO, so I've transferred all the parts from my previous build into this one. Except for the DDR2 which I replaced with new DDR3. So I got everything hooked up properly. It's essentially the same build as before.
However, when booting, everything loads fine, except for the graphics card I own. GIGABYTE - ATI Radeon HD 6850. Everything will load, except for the fans and well, this thing in general.
I'm not getting any beeps from the speaker. Everything is installed correctly, or so I believe. And it all worked find on my previous build. Including this morning, before I swapped out the Motherboards.
The motherboard has no on-board video. And the only thing I can really find online, that's even a little helpful. Is resetting the BIOS, or CLR_CMOS. However, I have no idea how to do either, without being able to navigate from my monitor.
Can I get any help, and more information is available if needed.
Please help me!
4 AnswersDesktops10 years agoAnyone help me find the name of a Manga (Description)?
I would find this myself if I had the patience. I've had it on my Plan to Read List, on MyAnimeList, but I can't find it.
It's about a boy who lives alone because his parents died. And a group of teachers at the school he goes to become his motherly figure.
Something like that. I'm going to keep looking on my own, but having help would be great.
2 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoIs FlyFF still popular these days?
I'm asking because I played it about 2 years ago... But I haven't touched in forever... In fact, I think I even forgot my account and password :( I was level 42... But that's okay, my character was stuck in a rut, and I couldn't level up for some reason, no matter how many level 50 creatures I killed..... Oh yeah, I also had like 400,000 in cash, and 3 eggs! But that wasn't that much, it just seemed like a lot to a noob like me.
So back to the main question. Is FlyFF still popular?
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoEmotional question. Opinions welcome. I have no title for this, but read the details.?
I'm not to emotional a person. At least the "bad" emotions. I'm a happy person.
But recently, I feel like I want to cry, and I mean, that want something to cry for, or about. Because I don't cry. I've had no reason to. But I want that reason.
It seems that there is little that has much meaning overall to me. Just a few things. But while I'm happy, and all that. I'm not sad. And I feel like I'm missing out on that. Like I need it to be there, because without sadness, I feel like half of what I need to be. And I normally see this a good thing. As I'm the happy side. But I guess, what I'm saying is, I can't be truly happy without sorrow. And I don't have it.
Note: I'm not depressed.
