Bike idles way too high?
Ok so I have an 1983 Kawasaki GPz 750. It has Mikuni BS34 carburetors on it. I replaced the stock airbox with pod filters. When I tried to fire it up the thing immediately zinged up to 4000 rpm and just hangs there. Choke makes it worse. Any ideas on what it might be? There were a few lines leading to the old airbox that I just left open, I thought they were just PCV/Crankcase ventilation but could they be causing a massive vacuum leak? Also thinking something in the carbs could be sticking as well. Appreciate any advice.
5 AnswersMotorcycles6 years agoCar trade in question?
Ok so I'm looking to trade in my car, its financed and is the first car I've ever had a loan on. I owe about what it's worth, roughly 17k. I'm wanting to trade it in on a car that is cheaper, the dealer is asking 15 for it, average retail according to NADA is 12. Knowing the dealer isn't going to give me retail for my car and them not going to go down a ton on their car, how would the deal work in regards to my loan? It seems like I would have 5 or 6 grand simply carry over to the new car and call it a day but I know it isn't that simple. Also the car I'm looking at is a 1971, I know there aren't many if any places even willing to finance a car that old.
7 AnswersBuying & Selling6 years agoWhat processor should I get for my computer?
I have an old Dell Optiplex computer that is running Windows XP (yes it's ancient by computer standards, but it was free so I don't want to hear it) and I am having issues running a game. I know it needs a new graphics card and I have one picked out for it but I am pretty sure it needs an upgraded processor as well. It currently has an Intel Pentium 4 in it. What do you recommend I get for it? I want to stay under $60 with it. Note that I am not trying to build a gaming computer I just want to play this ONE game (Sims 3)

I'm looking at buying my dream car, problem is It is in Michigan and I am currently stationed with the US Air Force in Florida, I know its not a great idea buy I want to buy it sight unseen. Now there are a ton of pictures of the car, its been very recently restored frame off, and its coming from a dealer with a very good reputation and has loads of documentation. So I'm asking for some advice from people who have bought cars sight unseen or know the process and have an idea of how to do it. Thanks for any help.
3 AnswersBuying & Selling8 years agoWhat is the best car to get for Alaska?
I'm in the Air Force and shipping off to Elmendorf AFB near Anchorage soon, All I have is a 1979 Buick Regal and I know from experience that it SUCKS in the snow. What would be a good car to get? I want to stay under $30K and it must be an American brand. Right now I'm really leaning toward a 4wd Ram.
1 AnswerBuying & Selling8 years agoCan brake lines get air in them just from sitting?
My project car has sat for about a year or so. I get it running this weekend but a quick back and fourth in the driveway revieled the brake pedal just goes to the floor and it has almost zero stopping power. I haven't found any leaks and the master cylinder is full, so I am thinking the lines have air in them somewhere. Can they get air in them from sitting for a long time or should I look harder to find a leak?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoArn't "Assault Weapons" already banned?
People seem to throw around the term "Assault Weapon" around alot. In reality a true assault rifle has been banned since the 1930s, before they were ever fielded. So my question is this: What do you think an assault weapon actually is?
7 AnswersPolitics8 years agoDoes anyone know how long it takes the ore veins to replenish in Skyrim?
I've seen online varying from an in game week to month. Can anyone tell me how long it ACTUALLY takes? And please no answers with "I think" or "it should be," only answer if you can confidently do so.
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games8 years agoDoes anyone else feel this way?
When your at a theme restaurant or store or something like that, say a 50's themed diner. You go into the bathroom and there's not even a little bit of effort to continue the theme in there? For me it just ruins the entire experience, anyone else get like that too?

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoWhat is the brand and model name of this tire?
In the tire rack.com commercial, at the end when they say their motto "research, buy, deliver, install" when they say install there is a very aggressive looking directional tire, does anyone know what the brand and model name of it is?
2 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation8 years agoWhy was there such a loss of knowledge during the dark ages.?
Save for obviously modern electronic technology, ancient people (Aztecs, Sumarians, Egyptions ECT.) were all very advanced cultures. Then during the middle ages it seems almost all scientific knowledge was lost and we are only just now rediscovering things the ancients knew. Why did this happen?
7 AnswersHistory8 years agoDoes a V6 need a crossover pipe?
A V8 needs one to balance exhaust pulses between banks but a V6, or at least mine, alternates banks every fire (mine is 1,6,5,4,3,2) so would it need an H or X pipe since the banks should theoretically be balanced?
3 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation8 years agoWhy do normal scissors not work left handed?
It really baffles me, the only reason I can think of is using them wrong handed (using normal scissors southpaw or leftie ones right handed) spreads them out the wrong direction
2 AnswersPhysics9 years agoWhy has no one shot a bigfoot?
Or at least reported killing one. As frequent as sightings seem to be you would think someone would have shot one. I know if circumstances are right (carrying a rifle/handgun, in a secluded area and a clear shot) I would open up on one.
7 AnswersMythology & Folklore9 years agoHow does a turbine (jet) engine ignite the air/fuel charge?
Is the compressed air hot enough to auto ignite the fuel when it mixes such as in a diesel engine or is it spark ignited? Or is there a mysterious 3rd method I don't know about?
2 AnswersAircraft9 years agoHow quick is a 1968-72 Chevy Nova with a 307?
My friend's friend has a 1968-72 (not sure exactly what year) Nova 4 door. Its supposedly an 8 cylinder, I assume its a 307 due to it being a 4 door and he bought it for like 2 grand, and I also assume its an automatic car. That is all I know about it because I have never looked it over. Based on this information how quick should this car be? I'm thinking about buying a 1968 Buick Riviera that should be 0-60 in high 7s and a quarter mile in the high 16-low 17 second range and I want to know if its even worth racing him.
5 AnswersChevrolet9 years agoWhy would I ever want to buy a vehicle newer than 1974?
In my state a classic vehicle can be tagged for $17 a year, I've been quoted insurance rates as low as $350 a YEAR, they are emissions exempt, in my opinion all look much nicer and have alot more class then new cars, soooo much easier to work on and tune, can be made to get as good of fuel economy, not near as much the distracting and obviously malfunction prone electronic junk and I think they drive nicer then new cars. I don't see 1 advantage to ever getting a new car.
