How do I solve this trig problem?
The question is: Using identities, find one angle that satisfies tan(x)=cot(45degrees+2(x)).
This seems like it should be really simple, but for some reason I can't figure out how to go about solving it. Can someone please explain the steps?

I'm writing a novel and getting as many possible motives for the crime as I can. What would motivate someone to kill the victim that you could say they were killed by curiosity?
1 AnswerBooks & Authors9 years agoA name for my character to name her baby?
A character in a story I'm writing is having a baby girl. The first name will be Logan and the last name is Drago. I am in desperate need of a middle name. Please nothing that starts with A, S or E. I'm trying to avoid unfortunate initials :)
5 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoA good job for this character?
I'm writing a crime novella and I was wondering what a good job background would be for a character who becomes a consultant for a group of agents/detectives. Such as in another story I have the character wrote very detailed and creative crime novels while working as an EMT. (See how the skills from those jobs would make her better at investigating crimes? Like that.)
Thanks so much!
4 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoWhich name for my crime novella character?
This character is a young woman in her mid to late 20s who's an eccentric and unconventional detective of sorts. She was blinded after a chemical bomb was set off in her home by a serial killer who killed her fiancee at the same time for testifying against an "associate" of his after being warned not to. She uses (a friendly kind of) arrogance/self-satisfaction and a sense of being care-free to cover up her trauma and guilt. She's tall with curly blonde hair and hazel eyes.
Any ideas for names? A last name option I like is Simon if you want to use that but you don't have to. :)
5 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoTitle Troubles... Help Please?
I'm working on a WWI story, but I need a name for it or I'm going to lose my mind. It's driving me crazy. Ok so here goes...
So in the story there is this young woman who lives in a small town in England. Along comes a British soldier one day, (I'm thinking he's slightly injured after being thrown from his horse) and she helps him out. They start taking a liking to each other during the winter months (when he's staying) and they both end up somewhat dragging their feet for him to leave. He likes her quite a bit, and she doesn't get much company. He comes and goes a few times, always dropping in for a stay. 1914, England is at war with Germany. He gets his orders to leave, and she's terrified at the prospect of something bad happening to him. He writes to her semi-regularly, until there's a gap in his letters.
(So I'm not sure yet if it's at this point or later that she gets news of him going missing in action and being presumed dead, but it happens.)
Either way, she catches an old friend who's a major and begs him to take her back with him so she can go and work as a nurse - her whole purpose, however, being that she find him. Time passes and she eventually (on a split second decision) disguises herself as a young man and goes fighting, looking for him.
Other info: Her name is Elizabeth Morgan; her uncle has had her engaged in arranged marriages multiple times, but she's too "brash and fiery" so they've all ended it. His name is Benjamin McKenzie. He's a captain in the army.
Any ideas??
2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoHelp me name my characters please?
The story takes place during WWI and these characters are from England. (So it'd help if the names were of English origin. They don't have to be, though.)
The first is a young woman just in her twenties. She's got blonde curly hair and green eyes. She's been engaged in arranged marriages multiple times but was never married because she's "brash and fiery". She always speaks her mind and is headstrong.
The second is a young man who's an army captain (so I'd like his last name to go nicely with the title 'captain'.) He's also got blonde hair and blue-green eyes. He's trim but still apt for battle. His personality is loyal, friendly and thoughtful. Thanks very much!

1 AnswerPC9 years agoTopics for my Epic Poem Project?
I've been assigned a project in English where I have to write a two-page epic poem. It must revolve around a single 'epic hero' who has a strength and a weakness and ONE conflict for them (ex Odysseus trying to get home in The Odyssey). It also has to include two Greek gods/goddesses. This can be serious or ridiculous - comedy, tragedy, whatever. Thanks, guys! (And girls)

1 AnswerMovies9 years agoStar Trek fanfic... Who would read? Suggestions?
I'm beginning work on a Star Trek fanfic series based off the 2009 movie called The Omega Initiative. It will be in "episodes", each with it's own smaller plot while following the crew's overall, larger story. It follows the crew we all know and love and is mostly told by my own character Omega. She's the last of a presumably extinct species. Or so they think. Does even she not know or is she just not telling? She's extraordinarily old so she has a huge past full of friends, enemies and dark spaces she'd rather leave unlit.
However, ALL the characters will hold equal importance to ALL the plots. Even though it's based off the 2009 movie it will include a lot of the original series. Portions will be written in third person, when it's better to be outside of Omega's head.
Who would be interested in reading something like this? Are there any specific (or general) species, planets, people, etc you'd like me to hit? Also I'm in the market for episode titles. You can just leave a title and I'll do the writing or leave a plot idea if you like. Or nothing :) that's fine too. Sorry for the long rant, thanks for listening!

4 AnswersLyrics10 years agoWhich title for my book?
Here's the description in short: A girl (Sapphire) lives in a living breathing, ever-changing prison. It changes constantly, creating the perfect inescapable stronghold for each and every one of its inmates. It controls everything, the environment your in, what you encounter there, and who you meet, if anyone. Sometimes it's bad, and sometimes it's good. Then it lets her meet Rift. After that she doesn't see him anymore and it drives her crazy because he haunts her dreams still. Eventually she, Rift and another girl named Genesis escape the Prison after it starts dying. Then they're left to rediscover a world they never knew and the lives they unknowingly left behind. Creatures wait in every shadow, deceit hides around every bend and the voice of the Prison still echoes in Sapphire's head.
This is what I have so far as titles go. Caged, Keeping Sapphire, Shift, Alive, Inmate. Which do you like best? Or if you have a suggestion feel free.
Btw this will probably be on Wattpad. My username is EGBAR787 so you can message me there if you'd like.
3 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoTitle for my story please?
I'm writing a story about a girl who has been in this living breathing prison for over a year. She doesn't know how she got there and she doesn't remember a thing about her life before she got there, even though she's sixteen now. She doesn't even know her name. The Prison provides everything for her, including a name. Sapphire. That's what it calls her. The Prison shifts and changes constantly, providing the perfect, ever-changing, inescapable prison for every inmate. It provides you food, ample clothing and other necessities, but other days it chooses to punish you. It knows everything about you. What will scare you. What won't. What will stop you, what will kill you and what will set you free.
Sometimes it chooses to give you gifts, like when it gave Sapphire the gift of meeting Rifft. Or perhaps it was another torment, since she hasn't seen him since, but he still haunts her dreams.
Eventually, the Prison begins to die and Sapphire, Rifft and Ash are in a race to escape the increasing danger of the Prison.
Long story short, they get out and are then left to rediscover the world and the lives they unknowingly left behind. Creatures wait in every shadow and the Prison's voice still echoes in Sapphire's head.
Sorry it's so long, I had a lot to say. So any ideas for brilliant titles?? Also, I'm taking suggestions for different character names. BTW, this will probably show up on Wattpad. My username is EGBAR787. You can message me there if you'd like.
5 AnswersBooks & Authors10 years agoTitle for my novella please?
K long story short I'm writing a story about a guy about high school or college age who shows up claiming he's Santa Claus. (His name is Chris Nicholas.) His dad is too old to do the job so he's retired but Chris is sort of a bad boy and he's landed himself on the naughty list. Of course he can't be Santa and be on the naughty list so he's been banished to Earth to learn humility and truly caring for somebody else and taking sacrifices for them. The catch? He's only got til Christmas Eve to get back on the nice list!!! Ok, so basically it's a comedy/fantasy/romance. (There's the character who tells the story, Dakota - a girl btw - who of course starts falling for the crazy guy who thinks he's Santa Claus.) I need creative titles please!!! Thanks a million guys!

3 AnswersMathematics10 years agoIdeas for a Mime Please?
I'm in the Forensics progam (competative theatre and speech). It may go by other names in other states but I don't know what those might be. I need a really good idea for a mime please!! (For anyone that doesn't know, this is where one to three people get together and perform a scene which either needs to be really funny or really sad without any sound. The performer(s) cannot make sounds, mouth words or touch others or themselves. You are allowed one chair per person performing. You are responsible for providing a CD with your 'music' on it. This is a 4-6 minute medley of whatever sound effects or songs - without words - you put on it that go with your performance.) Anybody have any brilliant ideas????
