Most Democratic governments have a liberal and a conservative party as we do. the names are just a description of how these two ideologies differ and oppose each other. neither word is a put down. why do some people use the word with such contempt?

It is a fact that religion has historically opposed science and it's progress. Think of the dark ages and the battle between Galileo and the church. I believe that it is no longer the case. What is slowing down science now is people with money who want science to be incorrect about certain things, like global warming or the impact of fracking because it effects their bottom line. Science and religion can coexist in harmony, but corporatism and science will never be friends. There is a dark cloud of anti-Intellectualism and anti-science deep in modern culture. I believe this has more to do with the interests of the corporate elite than the waning power of religion.

Aren't you glad Chris Christie exposed himself as a corrupt, bullying, lying slob before he ascended to a higher office? My nightmare of A Christie presidency was avoided by the man's own foolishness.

Is the republican party doomed? They are bigoted antiwoman and completely out of touch with both the mainstream and their own roots. The party’s voter base consists of neo-confederates, white supremacists, know-nothing libertarians, and evangelical theocrats. They have lost their way, from standing for conservative values, a more limited government and a free market to proclaiming that masturbation is a sin and that homosexuals are the cause of autism. Is this the end of our traditional two party system or can the plutocrats save the soul of the republican party and silence the crazies that wish to run the republican party?

There is a common theme in science fiction of two planets in the same orbit around the sun. Each hidden from one another. Has a phenomenon like this ever been discovered? Is it possible? If, as, in so many science fiction devices, there was such a planet orbiting our sun, at what point in history would we have detected it? I would think that even if we couldn't observe it visually, it's presence could be inferred from it's gravity. I'm watching MSTK3000's version of stranded in space, and it made me curious.

Instead of asking questions for clarity or advice, many askers seem to be trying to further divide people from each other with anger and hatred. How is this helpful?

She dresses very strangely and sleeps all day in a dark room. She keeps trying to confuse and control my mind. She does appear in mirrors and holy water just annoys her. It was okay until I found all these vials of blood in her closet. I was waiting for her in her room when I found them. She says she loves me, is she dangerous? What should I do?

It's just a natural bodily function and I just ignore it. Some people think it's so damn funny, I just want to know why you think it's funny or not, and maybe why I don't think it is.

I have had interactions with many cults, some I consider not harmful and some i consider harmful. What do you think?
