No specific reasoning behind this question. I just decided to start paying attention to the time signature of the songs on my iPod and I was puzzled by Numb Bears.

It seems like it's in 12/8 time but is it? Seems like kind of an odd time signature...

I'm doing an assignment for a class in which we have to do a mock magazine article. One of the requirements is that we need to do a "drop cap". I almost had finished the assignment at school (where we could use microsoft word which was super easy) but I had to finish it and print it at home (where I only have microsoft works word processor for some reason).

I've done all the googling I can but all the results are outdated and I can't find anything. My mom has no idea how to help. So, how do I do a drop cap on microsoft works word processor? (This is due tomorrow first period and I need an answer asap)

So I read A Song of Ice and Fire (the game of thrones book series) this year, finishing the fifth book in July. I've watched the show, in secret, and told my parents that I haven't watched it (for obvious reasons).

My dad wants to get into Game of Thrones, but he decided he'd rather watch the show than read the books. So, since he believes I haven't watched the show, he suggested watching it together. Since as far as he's concerned, I haven't watched it, I can't be like "no omg that's a terrible idea" since I'll have to explain WHY that's such a horrible idea.

So here I am, acting all excited to start watching game of thrones for "the first time", when in reality, I'm dreading what will happen when we get to that "tyrion in the brothel" scene

So, what should I do to get out of this mess? Should I just not bring up GOT with him again and hope he forgets? Should I just say "watch it without me"? Or should I just watch it anyway?

If the third option, should I be all grossed out like "oh omg the books are not like that at all that's disgusting turn it off" or should I just be like "dad it's no big deal we've both seen boobs before i can handle it"

For the record, I'm 17 and a half. But I know my dad to feel a little awkward even when the word "boob" is mentioned on TV when I'm around.

so this morning, i got really bored and decided "hey why not take an online iq test just for fun" so then i found that one, took it, and discovered i have to give an email at the end

i did, but i gave them an old one i never use anymore (one that's already filled with junk mail. my junk-mail email i use for stuff like this) but then i learned i have to pay $10 apparently?

and i'm kind of freaking out because does it bill automatically? like will we get a letter in the mail or something? i never gave any credit card number to them because i'm not stupid

but if it does bill automatically or send us a letter in the mail and my parents find out, they'll slaughter me

just wondering so i can live my morning in peace and can stop worrying...

So yesterday, my mom decided she didn't want her iPod anymore and gave it to me. This iPod, when it belonged to my mom, was synced to the desktop computer. My old iPod was synced with my laptop. So on my laptop, I have all the music I want on my new iPod in my iTunes library.

When my mom gave me her iPod, I restored it and deleted all the data and set it up with the apple ID I used for my old iPod.

But here's the thing. When I plug the new iPod into my laptop, it syncs, (say's "Syncing Kristen's iPod" or whatever) but the songs in the iTunes library don't transfer to my iPod. Why is this, and is there anything I can do to fix this?

(Also: My old iPod was a 2 gen, and this new one is a 4 gen, if that matters at all.)

So for my birthday last month, my grandmother got me a violin; an instrument I never had any interest in. I never wanted to learn it, and, knowing how difficult it is to learn, wasn't willing to take up the challenge. However, knowing that my gran always wanted me to learn violin, I had to fake excitement.

I did try to learn it, don't get me wrong. I've been practicing every day for the past six weeks and am just terrible at it. I cannot play a song for the life of me. I decided that my initial thoughts were not incorrect, that I have zero interests in learning this instrument. Plus, as a singer, I like instruments I can sing with, such as piano, and I just can't do that with a violin.

Honestly, I feel like the violin was a complete waste of my gran's violin; I just don't know how to tell her that. I know if I tell her, it will break her heart. I'm not sure I can do that to her.

What do you think? Should I stick it out, continue to try and learn it myself (I have no money to pay for an instructor), even though I don't like it, or should I get her to return it? And: if I were to go with the latter, how would I tell her?

Alright so. I identify as a panromantic asexual, meaning I'd date anyone but I don't feel a sexual attraction.

So my question is this; if I were ever to get into a solely platonic and romantic relationship with another female, would people still consider it to be a sinful relationship? There would be no sex involve, nor any sexual fantasies or lust. It would just be a deep meaningful romantic relationship, not a sexual one.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that one story in the bible mentions two people who had a platonic relationship---a "brotherly love" type thing. I'm quite certain that it didn't mention anything about it being a sin, either.

So yeah. If two people of the same sex had a relationship that involved no sex, sexual attraction, lust, or fantasies, would it still be a sin? I mean, it would just be platonic and romantic, like... a very deep emotional "friendship-like" relationship, nothing more. So would it still be sinful, or not?

Ever since Friday the 22nd, all my msn contacts appear offline, even when they are online. I have two contacts that regularly are online, but since Friday, they haven't been online at all.

Okay, I may sound crazy, and you may think that they just blocked me. But nope. My online contacts do appear online on my mobile msn app, and on online messenger. But on the actual msn version I downloaded straight from the hotmail website, not a single contact online.

Right now on msn, it shows 0 contacts online. Though when I go to the hotmail website and log into their online messenger, it shows that one of my friends is indeed online. So how come it shows online contacts as online on web messengers and mobile apps, though shows online contacts as offline on the actual msn itself?

Okay, if that was a bit confusing: MSN has not been showing me when contacts are online. I have solid proof that they have not blocked me.

Why is this so, and how can I fix it so I can actually see when my friends are online?

So I'm working on writing a novel about this girl and her older brother who find a book, get trapped in it, and shenanigans and adventure happen. That's about as brief as I want to be.

As of now, I am conflicted about whether to write this in first or third person.

Option one: first person, the girl's point of view. This option is pretty tempting because I have experience writing this character in first person, and because her character is... Interesting. Yet again, something happens to this character I'm not so sure I could write decently.

Option two: first person, the brothers POV. I like this idea because he's a decent respectable character and would likely be more pleasing to the readers. However, I have less experience writing him than his sister.

Option three: Third person. This one is comparable to my forbidden fruit. Tempting because I could write what goes on with the main protagonists, main antagonists, and what goes on back 'in the real world.' Then again, I haven't written in third person forever, and I won't be able to accurately write the characters thoughts and opinions.

So yeah I'm really conflicted. I really want your honest and unbiased opinions, please and thank you! (:

So I have an Acer Aspire Netbook. Yesterday, when my netbook was plugged in, it sometimes switched between charging and not charging. Today, it's been doing the same thing, except it's harder to get it to charge. Normally, I just rotate the part of the charger that plugs into the laptop, but now, my laptop won't charge at all.

A thing to note is for the past two or three months, my laptop has had the "battery low. please replace your battery" thing. Could that be part of the problem?

Also a few months ago my laptop's been getting a "fuzzy" and "static" screen, though when I try to take a screen cap the static doesn't appear.

I want to know if this is fixable on my own before I get my dad to send it to the tech store to get fixed. This HAS happened before but I'm not sure exactly what the problem is now, because it's a bit different this time.

So for the past two weeks, every time I use my iPod at night, my right hand goes numb, though my left hand doesn't. But it's not really the whole hand, just my pinky, ring, a bit of my middle, and that same side of the hand. It /only/ happens when I use my iPod, and also for some reason, only at night.

Also, I'm not quite sure if this will have any effect, but I'm a fourteen year old female.

So does anybody have an idea of what might be happening?

I am a fourteen year old girl, and I've never had a sense of smell, ever, although my sense of taste is working perfectly. From what people have told me in the past, if you do not have a sense of smell, then you're not apparently supposed to have a sense of taste, either, though it appears I am an exception? I've never gone to a doctor about it, seeing how I really have no problem with the fact I can't smell (and find it to be a wonderful fact while being confronted with a skunk), though I am a bit curious as to why I cannot smell at all, though I can taste without a problem. Why is that?

So lately, my throat has had this feeling like there was a spit-gob stuck in it. You know how sometimes you get that feeling, but usually then you cough and it feels better? Well, everytime I cough, it still doesn't go away. Also, I've had the same feeling in January and April, as well, and now again. It usually goes away after a week.

So yeah, it feels like there's some goopy-type spit stuck in my throat and no matter what I do I can't get rid of it. Anyone think they might have a feeling of what it is?

So in my youth group the other night, we were talking about the occult, and we got on the topic of astrology and horoscopes and such, and my leader told us to stay away from it, as it is a sin. I mean, I understand picking up a newspaper and going straight to the horoscope section for answers a sin (as your looking for answers from that, instead of god), but what's so bad about looking at your monthly horoscope just out of sole curiosity, not even believing what it says?

Also you know those posts around the internet comparing your zodiac sign to your personality? Would those be considered sins as well, then?

I just don't quite understand it. I mean, if you just look at those for the lulz, not really believing it and NOT looking for answers or putting it before God, how would that be a sin?

So I have an Acer Aspire netbook with windows 7. So last week I set it down on the table and a half hour later I noticed I set it down on some spilt pepsi. I wiped it off with a towel and blew on it a little and everything was working fine.

About two / three days ago, I noticed that my screen would occasionally go white. And you know how sometimes old cable TVs get the static-fuzzy type stuff? Yeah. My netbook screen goes white and staticky like that--- not the whole screen, just half of it. I can easily get rid off this by tilting the screen a few times. It mostly does the white screen right when I start up the netbook, or when I leave it open but don't use it for a few minutes.

Oh. And about four days ago I got one of those windows updates. And when it was restarting, the laptop went black and wouldn't load. It took a half hour to get it working again.

So yeah, I was just wondering if you knew what was wrong with my laptop, how to fix it, etc... I'm pretty sure it might have something with the pepsi, but I want your input. Thanks in advance!

So I'm 4'10 and I'm turning fourteen in two weeks. And I went shopping at Bluenotes the other day and a Small size was a little bit small on me, which was a surprise because I'm considered one of the smallest kids in my class at school.

So is a medium shirt size considered fat for me? I mean, yeah, it's a little bit loose, but there's no such size in between small and medium. So... yeah.

So I have this maid, okay. His name is Romano. He's really lazy, and I mean REALLY lazy. All he does all day is lay around eating pizza and tomatoes. Oh, and if that's not bad enough, he even pees on the floor. He says it's because my house is so big he doesn't know where the bathroom is. But he could at least do it outside! And when he does try to clean, he's just terrible! One day he was sweeping the house and he knocked over the bookshelf and nearly killed himself!

And I just can't get rid of him, either, you see. Well, I have... feelings for him. And no, it's not pedophilia, either, if you were wondering. No matter how lazy he is, I... I just don't have the heart to yell at him. That's probably why my boss is fed up with me, because I don't yell at him. He's a good guy and all. No matter how many times he calls me Bastard or Tomato Jerk, I can tell deep down inside that he loves me, too.

...So what exactly should I do here?

So I have a French neighbour, okay? And I'm pretty sure that nationality has to do something about this. But anyway. The ******* wanker likes to go out in the front lawn completely nude with nothing but a rose covering his privates! That's disgusting!

And get this. Last year during the Olympics, he broke into my house unvited, completely naked once again, and started to take off my clothes as well! And the bugger was like "BUT IT'S THE OLYMPICS!" Ha! As if that has anything to do with nudity.

So what should I do to get the wanker to stop stripping? He says that "NUDITY IS LOVE~" and often gets his Italian friend to come over and run around naked as well. But at least the Italian has the decency to wear his boxers.

So I have this little sister, she's from Belarus. Not like that matters or anything. But anyway. She's always following me around when I don't want her to, sort of like a stalker, I suppose. So then last night I was just sitting down on my bed ready to sleep, when all of a sudden I hear her scream "BROTHER! OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" And so I cower behind the mattress screaming for her to go away. But then she breaks off the doorknob and throws it at me, and starts screaming "MARRIAGE MARRIAGE MARRIAGE!"

So long story short, I think my little sister might be in love with me. Well, that's what my older sister says anyway. But I'm not so sure she does. So do you people have any advice on what to do to get my sister to stop following me around? I'd send her to Siberia but she'd just come back anyway. What should I do? This is serious, my little sister is crazy!

So I downloaded gimp today, about three times actually.

When I load it up, when it gets to "loading fonts", it freezes up and doesn't load. So I removed it, and downloaded it from another site. Same thing. Then I found another site to download it from, and once again, it froze up at "loading fonts."

If it matters, I'm using an Acer Aspire Netbook with Windows 7, aaandddd the internet browser is google chrome. I don't think it matters much, though.
