  • How can you keep water safe for use in a solar water heating system for a week or two with no use?

I am wanting to make a solar water heating system for our caravan but I need to know how to keep the water in the system safe for use (not drinking but for everything else) when it may be left for a few weeks at a time without being used. The caravan has got electricity via a 100W solar panel and a battery bank.

    -

The caravan is in a place where there is no water supply other than a neighbour's house water so emptying the system when we go and refilling the system each time we get back is not possible as the amount of water required to do so would take multiple trips to the neighbour who is only in when they are in. We currently take 10 litres of water with us to plug into the caravans water system until we can get our large barrels filled.

Thanks for any and all useful suggestions.

  • How to get the last part of a URL in PHP?

I have got a link to a page which adds a user inputted code to the end of the URL, for example:

    http://example.com/code.php?ABC123

What I need to know for my webpage is how (using PHP) can I extrcact the "ABC123" from the page's current URL so it can be used again later?

The background reason for wanting this is that I am using a one-time-use download script and when the user has a correct code, I want the page to first redirect to a "Thank you" page and then for the download to initiate. In order for the one-time-use script to check the entered code, the entered code must be transferred from the first page to the redirected page.

If the reasoning doesn't make sense or it could be done much easier I am at a stage where that no longer bothers me as this website is only a small project due to be completed for Thursday, I would just like to know how to do the above URL extraction.

    Thanks,

  • How strict is the UK Hazard Perception test?

Hello, while doing test clips I am finding myself loosing out on marks simply for noticing a hazard before it wants me to click even by a fraction of a second. In the real test are they that strict about when you click as personally (and not just because I'm loosing marks over it) I think that it is better to notice hazards early than late.

So, how lenient are they over this kind of thing, is it a matter of if you didn't click within the set times you fail or if you are a fraction of a second out they will let you have the marks?

Is it advisable to click 2/3 times per hazard with a half second gap between clicks to make sure a hazard counts?

Do they want you click when you see the hazard or when you may/will have to brake for it or is it in the middle ground of just before you may/will have to brake?

Many thanks to anyone who can answer any/all of my questions.

  • PHP script could not find file download?

Hello, I'm new to PHP so sorry if this seems rather basic but after downloading the script codes from this website: http://www.webvamp.co.uk/blog/coding/creating-one-...

I am now at the stage where I am told "We couldn't find the file to download."

I have tried specifying the exact URL of the download folder but still not luck.

The code is currently set to:

    $strDownloadFolder = "/downloads/";

So, does this download directory mean "example.com/downloads/" is the directory where the download file should be hosted if index.php is in "example.com"'s root directory?

Sorry if I don't make much sense.

    Thanks,

  • How to automatically change webpage font if selected font is unavailable?

I have a webpage and it uses the font DaunPenh with a mixture of size and appearance settings to match what is used on the businesses business cards and posters. Although this font appears correctly on Windows (7 & 8) it does not appear correctly on an Ubuntu running computer I have access to. It changes the font to something else which it can then display the text in but all of the settings used for the other font are still applied, thus leaving a mess of writing which does not look right on the page (picture below shows). All of the font settings etc are controlled by a CSS file which is used on every page of the website.

So the question is: Is there a way for the website to change the font settings if DaunPenh is unavailable automatically so a selected font with selected size and other settings is chosen?

  • What screws are used in the PS3?

I have obtained a PS3 and the previous owner has tried to look at fixing it for themselves. As they gave me the console for free I can't really complain so as the question asks, does anyone know what all of the different screws are inside the console as many of them are missing and I want to buy some from my local hardware store who will have some.

    Many thanks.

  • How do you jump to frame "x" in Flash CS4 with AS2?

How I want it to work is when a frame is loaded it will then jump to another frame. For example, I have a MovieClip which is 20 frames long inside frame 100 of my game, when the MovieClip reaches frame 20 I want it to tell the game to switch from frame 100 to frame 20. Is this possible?

  • On-board graphics and BF3?

Would my PC be able to handle BF3 even on the lowest graphics settings with on-board ATI Radeon 3000 graphics? I ask this as it's pointless me getting it without being able to use it. My other PC specs are good enough for the game so please don't talk about anything but the graphics.

  • How to embed an email form into a HTML web page?

What I'm trying to do is place an email form inside my web page so all a visitor has to do is type in their email address and their message. When they send the email I want it to be sent to a specific email address (not listing it here) with a specific subject along with it "Camper Van Wedding Hire". Then the email I receive must contain the visitors entered email address so it can be replied to. Can anyone link me to a tutorial on how to do this?

    Thanks,

  • Content usage rights?

For my 2D animation project for college I have rotoscoped (drawn over) a video from Forza 4, after reading Microsoft's content usage rules I know I am allowed to do that but am I allowed to use the sound from the original video? The sound being the cars racing in the video. This is completely non-profit and solely for a college project.

    Thanks for any help.

  • Can someone name this song!?

The intro goes like this, i have used commars to indicate even the slight pauses in it.

Da, da da da, da da da, da da da da da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da da da da da, (repeats this again but the voice goes lower possibly the other group members join in) I honestly cannot think of a single word in the song that i can look up to find it with. First person to name it correctly gets best answer, please do not post an answer already posted. Thanks

  • Hand cramps while writing?

I get a hand cramp pretty much every time i write for more than 2 minutes, with me being in Year 11 that's not really helpful with generally more written work. Does anyone know of any good ways to prevent hand cramps while writing? If i hold my pen differently i will write slower and less neat. (not good handwriting to begin with either) I also play Xbox quite a bit so could it to be with holding a controller for a while? I never get it while playing though, only writing.

    Thanks
