  • Is it okay walk with my 17 month old in a stroller without being buckled?

When walking in our neighborhood, my daughter loves not having the straps on so she can sit up and look around. If out in a crowded area, of course I ll buckle her in, but in our residential area, I m just curious on what others think.

  • How do you prevent baby from undoing snaps on bumGenius Cloth Diapers?

Our 13 month old daughter has figured out how to undo the snaps and the velcro on our bumGenius 4.0 and Freetime pocket cloth diapers. Whether she has a onesie, pants, or other clothing over the diapers, her hands still go right to them and undo them within a minute.

I put packaging tape across the snaps which kept her from undoing the diapers, but this is not a good long term solution. Please, any other solutions would great!

  • Is it okay to just hold your baby and let her cry?

There are times, mostly at night, when our 2 month old will be really fussy and not stop crying. After we have changed her, fed her, and tried everything else, she still cries. I'm pretty sure its from gas and have no idea what to really do besides hold her.

Is it bad to just stand or sit and hold her while she's screaming or do you need to do anything else?

  • Notice of Traffic Violation in Texas - What if I don't pay this?

I received a Notice of Traffic Violation letter in the mail because my car was photographed running a red light. I misplaced it and just forgot to pay and now I just got a late payment notice in the mail saying I may face potential civil penalties.

I am in the Fort Worth, TX area and the payment was to go to the third party company who maintains the red light cameras. After some searching, it looks like a lot of people have just ignored these letters. It seems like the city may only try to keep you from renewing your registration until the ticket is paid and creditors may start calling.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is it best to pay or safe to ignore?

  • How do you fix a car that only starts when the clutch is popped?

My car just wouldn't start one day, but the batter is perfectly fine. I was finally able to start it by simply pushing the car, putting it in gear and popping the clutch while turning the ignition. Now I have to do this almost every time I go to start my car. What is usually the cause of this to just happen?

My car is a 2006 Subaru Legacy GT, and obviously, it's a 5 speed.

  • What is the best performance sedan under 10k?

I am a car enthusiast on a budget and plan on having a kid soon. Therefore, I need to find a car for no more than $10,000 that's four doors, safe, and has good power and handling. Any ideas would be great.

I've been looking at used (of course) BMW 540's, Subaru Legacy/Outback GT's, Infiniti G35's, and the Lexus GS400. Any experience with these on reliabilty and "fun to drive" factor?

  • What is a good gift to get wife before getting pregnant?

My wife and I are going to start trying to conceive in a few weeks. We have both been training for a marathon that we'll run in December, and after that we'll start trying. I wanted to get something to give her as a nice way to show my excitement for trying to have a child and will be helpful through our journey.

Do any current dads or mothers have any good suggestions? Is it a bad idea?

  • How much is traffic backed up if just one car stops on the highway?

Just wondering how long the "bottle neck" effect happens after just one car stops and then goes on the highway. A rough estimate would be good, just interested to know.

  • Is it effective to take time off from cardio to build strength?

I have been running for over 6 years now with very little strength training. I have been training for marathons one after another and hitting a new goal with every new race. Now that I've met my goal to run under 3 hours and run in the Boston Marathon, I am feeling pretty burned out on running. Lately, it's bothered me of how much strength I have lost from my high school years. I am 5'10 and 150lbs and want to start a strength program and follow a clean bulk to gain weight. I plan on doing this over the winter months and pick back up on running for the summer. Anyone else do this in the past or have any advice? I plan on running or doing some form of cardio while bulking to limit fat gains and keep a healthy heart.

  • Do you use a comma after saying "Thank you" followed by a person's name?

For example, if someone sent me information via e-mail, and I wanted to reply back to them to say thanks.

Do I use a comma and say:

"Thank you for the help, John"

Or should I not use a comma:

"Thank you for the help John."

Please provide a reference so I can confirm the correct usage.

  • How do you thin out homemade pudding?

I made some homemade pudding with 3 cups of milk and about 6 Tbs of cornstarch. I now know this was too much cornstarch, is there anyway to just add more milk to thin the pudding out? I has the texture of jello right now.

  • How do I stop worrying so much about money?

I know we all do this, it just really drags me down. Anyone have a certain method that they follow? I am a huge food lover and I love checking all the food out at the store. Now, it's just depressing to walk around and not be able to try it. Any input would be great.

  • How do I stop getting irritated by people around me?

I used to be more carefree and happy-go-lucky. Now, over the past few years, I have changed my diet to become very healthy and I can perform better than I ever that possible in running and other activities. From this, I feel like everyone should be healthy, and that it is an easy change. I want them to change for the better, but it's not my decision. How can I quit wanting to change others, including my wife?
