What is going on in his head? Guy friend help?
I have known of this guy for 5 years. He has been a friend of a friend since I was in the 8th grade so I would always hear things about him secondhand. The only time I ever saw him personally was passing in the halls and he didn't know me. This year, I have a class with him and we are now actual friends which is cool because we know the same people. He is a year older and a senior. He has been nice to me all year and even explicitly invited me to meet him at several events because he wanted to hang out. I haven't really followed up on the offer too much (I have social anxiety but I am recently getting more outgoing) so I might have hurt his feelings. But then on our first day as lab partners he made a sexist comment. Obviously, I thought less of him. Since then though, he has been nice and expressly asked me if anything is wrong when I look/am sad and has always invited me to hang out with his other friends playing cards at the lab station. Today he even came up to me and strangely, asked me if I needed help with the work (which he had never done before and I wasn't really sure why he would now). A nice gesture. My question to all of you is: Does he like me? This kid is a "gamer." He has a lot of friends but isn't exactly a ladies man. So, I am not sure if he is just being friendly (he has a lot of friends including girls, but they aren't into him like that) or if he is trying to very subtly show that he likes me. I have a bit sub-par social skills in general so when it comes to a potential romantic situation, I am completely lost if the guy is not being direct (and some guys just aren't upfront about their feelings, they beat around the bush). Also, I don't have romantic experience.
2 AnswersAdolescent9 years agoWhat should I do? Relationship Advice?
I think this guy is very cute and I have met him on about 4/5 occasions for local community events. The first time was a year ago and we were both volunteering for an event for a local politician for community service. I forgot about him until recently when I did another event where I starred in a production for the library. Then, once again, I see him. And this time we are doing a really big event where we have to spend a few hours near each other for a dinner. I don't know if I believe in fate and I am still young so it isn't like I have found my husband yet but I keep running into him...It is up to interpretation if it is for a reason or not. I am very bad at talking to guys I like though unless I have already resigned myself to the fact that I (believe) I could never be with them or that they have stated that they are not interested, etc. And he is very shy. Anyway, after describing how nice he seems (he has talked a bit to me and he is very polite) I keep being told to go for it. But I barely know him. And I see him next Friday (the event). Should I take advantage of this? Or go for friends? I think he might like me too. He is shy but I thought that there might have been sexual tension (maybe it was wishful thinking). He and I don't go to the same school but he lives near where I used to live so if I potentially date him, it isn't "long distance." I am aware I might be overthinking this but I keep being told to try to go for it and if I am going to go for it, I want to make sure I am not screwing this up. I could be friends with him first (in fact, in spite of people telling me to go for it immediately, my original plan was to try to be friends first). I could freak him out if I just all of a sudden start putting my moves on him. Oh and if it matters, he is a year younger. I am 16 but I am not sure how old he is. I just know he is a sophomore and I am a junior.

Do you miss childhood innocence?
Do you get nostalgia?
Are you having a good day?
Do you like surveys or serious questions?
BQ: Did anyone see a movie this past weekend?
Did you honor 9/11 (if you are American)?
My answers:
RayWilliamJohnson, Shane Dawson, Charlieissocoollike, Sxephil, YOMAMA
MAD, Spongebob, America's Got Talent, etc.
Ehh, I think so. I'm not so sure.
I want flying cars to be normal someday and a floating city would be nice. I also see texting and computers and electronics becoming a nesessity rather than a thing you can use. Many people will not know the way of books on paper or of pencil and paper writing, which I find sad.
Yes
Yes
Asi, Asi (ok, ok in Spanish)
Uh I like real questions but it seems that people answer surveys more. Plus on slow days, it keeps you entertained.
Yes, I saw Contagion.
Yes. OF COURSE! I am glad so many people still care but what saddens me is that I saw a lot of people who didn't care anymore.

11 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoHas this happened to you? TEENS?
I was with two friends for a party. I was told this other girl "Sasha" invited herself and was going to come with us (for the birthday party we were going to a convention). I am 16 and my friend was turning 17. And the other two girls, my other friend and Sasha are 18. So we were dropped off and went alone. Right when we get there, Sasha leaves us. My friend later finds her in the vendor room and tries to find her. She ditches us. So we search for her for an hour (at least and this is all LEGIT searching, nothing else). We need to eat lunch so we go eat without Sasha. Now, childishly, we "punish" her by giving away her sandwich and Gatorade. She had been very rude and ignoring us. When she go back, we offered other food. She flipped. I think she has food issues but I'm not sure. She refused our money even for more food. The prank was over. So today, after the whole weekend, she is still mad. And even apologized. She rides my bus and she berated me almost the whole ride home. She asked me if it was my idea (it wasn't but my "friends" threw ME under the bus and blamed the whole thing on me, but we all agreed together). Now, for the record, I really dislike Sasha based on her attitude on the bus and so I would have been happy to not have seen her outside of school.
Question time: Basically the question is, what petty drama have you been involved in?
I am just irritated right now and want to know I'm not alone. Btw, I know it was wrong what we did but what irritates me most is my getting blamed and that Sasha isn't accepting any blame. She fed me a story on the bus today of how she looked for us...even though she didn't. And it was so painfully obvious she wanted a free ride and free food.
*Sasha isn't her real name..I'm not that mean
2 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoTeen Survey for guys and girls!?
Hey So I need some advice and I'm a little bored...so here's a survey.
1 Guys: Would you ever go out with a girl with really short hair or was bald? Girls: Would you go out with a guy with really long hair?
2 What are your biggest fears in life?
3 When does school go back in session for you?
4 Do you have regrets?
5 Favorite website?
6 Favorite tv show or movie?
7 What do you strive to be when you grow up?
8 Do you feel that we, as kids, are too sheltered now and parents are too scared to let us live, because they are afraid of us dying?
9 Do you ever wish you could experience another era in time?
10 Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be the opposite sex? Does that make someone gay or transgender?
My answers:
1 I might but I don't like long hair on a guy.
2 Not being remembered or my life not being worth anything. Being a disappointment.
3 August 15. Too early.
4 Yes but I'm not sure if it is good to have regrets. A lot of people say to live without regrets. :/
5 YouTube
6 The Lion King
7 Some kind of medical doctor and own a restaurant with my friend.
8 Yes, times change but not always for the better.
9 Yes.
10 Yes and I feel like I am a weirdo and I am embarrassed to talk about it.
BQ: Would you try to go out with/go out with someone who seems to have bad luck in relationships and has dated a lot recently? Imagine the person isn't a player or a slut, etc. but just seems to have a hard time keeping gfs/bfs.
My Bonus Answer: Idk..I wonder what makes the person always fail at relationships even though they are young. If they aren't good at relationships though, no matter how much I like someone, I wouldn't want the pain of being in a horrible relationship that was doomed from the start.
39 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoWacky peeps!? What happened to you? Stories?
In a lighter mood from my other question (about friend issues, but this question is based on that one)
What are some of the wackiest things your friends have ever said or done to/with you?
I'm just kinda bored and I wondered if anyone had any outrageous stories out there about them and their friends. Plus I could use some cheering up. :)
Here's My Story:
My friend's parents and my parents were both out and so my parents left her in charge of me (she is 11 months older). We were playing outside and I had to pee but my friend seemed to think her dad said we could not go inside until he came back. So she wouldn't let me go in her house to pee. Instead, she gave me a strofoam *** and said go pee. I came back later and was drenched in pee as it was very difficult to pee in a cup when I had no idea what to do. When her parents and my parents came back, she started to cry and felt really guilty. I had been really embarassed at the time because all our neighbors saw too that I peed my pants a bit. Now it is just such a weird and funny story and my friend still feels guilty but I'm not mad. :)
2 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoFriend Issues?? What to do?
I have this friend who has severe problems. She is bipolar, was adopted, her beloved adopted dad died, she was suicidal, and her biological sister won't contact her. But my problems with her are these:
-she has no social skills (calls multiple times an hour if you don't answer)
-is rude to her mother in front of guests (curses at her, complains, etc.)
-she claims she has no friends (sadly I am basically her only friend) but whenever I try to help her she is rude, obnoxious, and indignant and she always behaves the same way anyway despite my advice (and never makes any friends but makes people hate her)
-her attitude (a reason a lot of other people don't like her, I don't like it because it is rude to me and I should be respected, she will say "no dur" "no duh" "no durduhdurrs" and "I don't care" "I dont give a f***" etc. when you are only trying to help and she does this EVERY DAY!!)
-her intelligence( (I mean this in no way rudely)
She has Learning Disabilities and so she isn't up to par with everyone else and I have always been above average, so I can't connect intellectually with her (intelluctual coversation is very important to me, I like to be stimulated and debate and discuss whereas she just likes to talk to talk and hear herself talk)
There are plenty of other issues but I genuinely feel sorry for her and I am seriously her only friend.
-She makes up outrageous stories about herself (that are always negative) and insists they are true
By negative, I mean she says she is a slut and sleeps around (everyone knows she is a virgin, but why would you want to say that about yourself?) She says her dad gave her a $30,000 Porshe (very untrue, she doesn't have a dad right now), etc.
My questions are:
Should I stay friends with her? I am not happy in this friendship and I only started being friends with her out of pity (I know it sounds bad but I mean her life is pretty sad and she had zero friends before me, please don't say I'm a bad person for that, I wanted to help her, I did)
What would you do in this situation?
Should I tell someone about her lying? I think she might be a pathological liar.
Thanks so much.
If you want, tell me any similar experiences you have had with troubled friends.
3 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoTeen Girls: Question?
Every once and a while when I think about having kids (I am on the fence about having them...plus that would be in the far future, I'm only 16) or someone being pregnant I get this weird fluttering feeling in my stomach. My question is does this happen to anyone else (teen girls)? And is this normal?
Also, does this mean I get like turned on by pregnancy? I mean what is that feeling?
Does it mean I am horny? Or does it mean I am a girl with a pregnancy fetish?
This is really embarrassing to ask and I've never told this to anyone. Please be nice. Thanks so much.
6 AnswersAdolescent10 years agoActing....Opinions or Advice?
I don't want to be a celebrity nor am I fame hungry. It would be cool but it comes with a lot of risks (and benefits). I'm 16 I recently read a great book. They are making a movie of it and I am tinkering with the idea of asking my parents to let me audition. My question is this:
Is it really worth it?
Obviously it is a long shot to get these kinds of roles (the book is highly popular so I suspect it will be a very sought after role) but in the case I do (and I'm not trying to sound delusional, there is always a chance if you try, it is just very slim) is it worth it?
The fame and the work, etc. Basically everything included in that industry....Is it worth it?
I'm only 16 but I like to keep a bucket list in my head and one of my fantasy goals (meaning most likely won't happen but it would be cool if it did) is to work on at least one film set. I don't want acting as a career and I am not the worst person out there by far but I have regretted how I have treated some people and I am also afraid that could haunt a role or short career. Plus you get no privacy and once you are in Hollywood, you better stay or else they are rude about you "shunning" Hollywood when you die. You can never make everyone happy and it is a tough business.
So I am toying with/flirting with the idea of actually auditioning but I just want advice.
And if not this role, any other role. Basically I would like to do any dramatic or good quality (not kid's show stuff or commercials, etc.) acting job and so if I got it (hypothetically) is it a good idea or a bad idea to grt involved with the industry?
Btw, when I have asked my parents about doing this job (I asked when I was younger and a few times now, but also about how they would feel if I did it as an adult) they are not supportive. They wouldn't want me to do it as a living or become an A-lister, etc. They agree with me that it is okay if I do a couple of jobs and that is it. My excuse for asking was "What if I need money while I'm in college?" I said that could be a way for me to make some small cash or something. Thus, they agreed.
Sorry it is so long and really thanks for any advice or opinions. And I'm not trolling seriously I just like to think about stuff a lot like my future or cool stuff to do. And I'm just weighing this and I will be for a while (as I really most likely won't start acting until I'm 18, if ever...So 2 more years).
Btw, I don't have an agent or anything, nothing, yet. So Idk if that goes into your answers but I would have to start fresh and begin like all the stars did at one point.
4 AnswersTheater & Acting10 years agoKitten help? ASAP answer? Thanks so much!?
Okay so I already have a dog. I am 16. And my parents don't want any more pets but I have been offered a kitten that needs a home. I am seriously considering taking it in without my parents knowing (please don't judge me) but I need advice. I have only owned dogs before never cats. So at 12 weeks, what do I feed it, do I need a litterbox, etc.? I can try and use my own money to buy it food and things. Can fellow cat owners tell me how much starting off with a cat will cost?
And I will not let my dog see the cat.. But when/if my parents find out about the cat, and bring it inside, can my dog get along with a cat?
Thanks for any help.
P.S. I know that people will say I shouldn't do it behing my parent's backs but the cat will be euthanized otherwise. My area's shelter's are overflowing. :'(
5 AnswersCats10 years agoTeens: What are cruises like?
My parents are taking us on a cruise this summer and I have never been on a cruise before. It is the Royal Carribean brand cruise I think. I know some cruises have like teen programs and the teens hang out. But is it really like that? Do complete strangers of the same age really hang out?
I know people can go off and explore on their own so do parents usually let kids do that? And like some people have told me, do randome teen strangers hook up while their parents are away?
2 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoParents, would you consider this? Please read thanks?
Next summer (2012) I want to travel to Europe. I was inspired by this book I read recently called 13 Little Blue Envelopes. The girl is 17 and goes on an adventure all over Europe by herself and has a great time and finds herself, etc. I would be 17 by the time I would be going on this trip (maybe even 17.5). Anyway, I wanted to trek across Europe for a long time but this book inspired me to try on my own. It is a good way to prepare for being an adult by taking responsibility for yourself. I am an only child so my parents couldn't cope if something happened to me since I am the only one. They want me to be more independent and this could show them. If they let me go, I would love for them to meet me when I am done trekking and go to the London Olympics with me. Anyway, parents, would you even consider this plan or not? Would you set certain conditions? If yes, what would they be? Thanks so much and feel free to give any other advice related to this. Bye.
5 AnswersParenting1 decade agoTeens: Can you please help me?
I struggle with not having good social skills. I am constantly beating myself up over one little thing I said. Today, I was talking to this kid in my class named "Daniel." Anyway, I always ask people questions and try to make conversation to try and get to know them better. I thought I was annoying him with my personal questions (all I asked was about his life, etc.) and I guess I wasn't. But I still beat myself up over it. The point is I don't know how to socialize. I am knowlegable but when it comes to actually doing it, I have always been better with adults than kids my own age. And that causes me a lot of pain. Do you any of you guys know any reputable (no pedos) penpal services? I have been looking for one for years and I want ot exchange letters with someone. I think that might help my social skills. Writing is just like talking for me. I can't do it with people who aren't family or adults I know and respect. I am 16 and I need this skills because I am growing up.
Btw, would any of you (I really hope you aren't pedos....no offense) mind talking to me? That would be so cool and I'm in need of a friend who understands. Maybe someone who has been through tough times too? I need another outlook, one that will keep me going strong. Thanks for any help!!! :)
And I'm not trolling. I wouldn't lie about having almost no friends.
4 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoQuestion for Older teens only? (16-19 etc.)?
Do you guys ever look at the younger end of our generation and shake your head? I see little girls who want to be porn stars or famous and wear makeup and whore themselves out from age 5! The 13 year olds think they know everything now and just a few years ago, I was 13 and I wasn't that rude or cocky or....just annoying.
Do you guys ever get worried for our planet? I can't stand some of my fellow generation Y peeps. They have got to go.
Bonus Question: (unrelated) if any of you have seen that user Proud Mom of Two, does she annoy you? She says she is 47, so why she is blasting her beliefs and stuff in the teen section!!?? Plus, if you haven't seen her, look up her profile, I dare you.
and read the description. Kinda cocky and arrogant huh? She is saying she is the best and so are her kids, ugh.
13 AnswersAdolescent1 decade agoTeens (who are in therapy, depressed, etc.) Have you experienced this?
My parents always tell me they knew I had issues since I was born. I have been diagnosed with problems, but it hurts my feeling that they always comment that something was "wrong" with me since I was born. My mom always says she knew because I cried "too much." Maybe I had colic or something else going on? I feel like my parents think all of my problems today, hinge on my behavior as a small child. I don't like that because I feel like I couldn't help that. I don't remember crying as a baby and I'm sorry! And when I was 2 and 3, I didn't mean to be so misbehaved but they don't call it the terrible two/three's for nothing. It is typical. My question is: Do any of you have similiar experiences?
Plus my mom wanted 4 or 5 kids but because of her difficult pregnancy with me, I am an only child. I didn't mean to cause her pain (agian, I couldn't help it) but I feel she harbors some resentment towards me for it. All these things that I couldn't help I feel blamed for and it makes me really sad. I haven't always been the best kid but I do try but it hurts to feel like they always thought I was screwed up.
Am I overeacting? This was on my mind today because we went to a new therapist and we had to talk about these prior issues.
