Which phrase is correct: "I can't wrap my head around it" or "I can't wrap my arms around it" when referencing problems?
I hear both of these phrases (and occasionally "wrap my mind around" and "wrap my hands around"--which really sounds wrong).
Nobody is literally wrapping their arms around a problem, so that's a metaphorical perspective, I suppose. But you definitely can't wrap your mind around anything, much less a problem, so that's kind of a double metaphor.
Is one of these phrases a corruption of the other? Please find a reference source for the answer, if that exists. Thank you!
