I'm Rider. Married with 2 daughters, 3 dogs, 2 parrots and some fish. Between the wife and me we have 3 motorcycles and weather permitting we ride the crap out of them..... I read voraciously....4 or 5 books a week.....

  • Did you know that SOMEBODY (from the yahoo tattoo section) is about to become a mother for the first time?

Which be default means that I will be a grandfather for the first time. Will she be able to hold her position as top answerer in the tattoo section when she has a little one running around the house? Should I get a tattoo commemorating the birth of my first grandchild? Should we nickname the baby "ink"?.....LOL Just wanted to share the news with all my pals......

  • Will you REALLY regret your tattoos when you're 80?

Personally I think there will be other things to worry about other than ink under my skin. So it's time to start a list of things that will REALLY matter when you're 80.........like can I still get it up? And will I remember what it's for if I can? and not how does my dragon look

  • To all the regulars on the tattoo site......which question makes you cringe whenever you see it posted here?

I know we each have our favorites. Post your favorite question (and the answer you REALLY wish you could give them)

I hate the scratcher questions but lately the "I'm 14 years old why can't I have a tattoo" questions are killing me.....You can't have a tattoo for the same reason that you can't drink, or smoke, or drive, or vote,.......because you are a CHILD!!!!

    Next......

  • Can someone hold down a job and still have tattoos?

I know that most of us with tattoos are in prison, gangs, or live on welfare but surely someone, besides me has a job. Let me start

    1) College degree, Estimator at a Steel Fabrication Plant

    2) Two tattoos

    3) Outer upper arms, (can be covered with a polo length shirt)

    Thanks for playing

  • Ok.....So I have my tattoo gun and I finally figured out where the bullets go....?

I've crushed up every gel pen I can find and I have my ink (I can't wait to shoot someone with the glitter ink). Now I'm working on the sign for my trailer door and "Scratcher" sounds so harsh.....not to mention politically incorrect..... What I need from you good folks is an alternate word (or description) for what I do......

PS The winner gets a free tattoo!!

    Thanks ;)

  • I just got my home tattoo kit and I have a problem.....?

I think I know how to hook the gun up and I broke up all my dad's gel pens so I have lots of colorful ink. My problem is, when I tattoo LOSER on my forehead should I do it backwards so I can read it in the mirror everyday or should I tattoo it where everyone I meet can read it?

  • How about a list of extreme methods of tattoo removal?

It's late and I'm feeling silly......it time for a list of extreme, as wild as you want to get methods of tattoo removal.

PS Neither yahoo answers or myself condone the use of ANY of this methods. Anyone attempting to use one of these methods will be declared a dumba$$, tarred and feathered and banned from the internet for life.

OK....Me first. My favorite, a match and gasoline. Its cheap and the equipment is readily available. (Hurts like a ***** though, not to mention the scar) though dragging it on asphalt at high speeds (road rash) comes in a close second......... Next

  • Does anyone else have their tattoos posted on www.ratemyink.com ?

Personally, I really like this site. I've made some great friends there. The tattoos run the gamit from really, really horrible to some of the best ink you will ever see. Do any of you use this site and if so, please post a link to your ink so I can rate it. Here are mine http://www.ratemyink.com/?action=ssp&pid=29470&cat... and http://www.ratemyink.com/?action=ssp&pid=25693

Or do they stay hidden all the time?

  • It's time for a list of your favorite tattoo fallacies. Should I start out?

You've never going to get a REAL job with those tattoos on you. FALSE.

There are lawyers, doctors, astronauts, bankers, preachers, teachers, racecar drivers, scientists, all with tattoos........the list is endless. Getting a tattoo DOES NOT prevent you from doing what you want to in life...... NEXT?

  • Ok confession time for all of you who have tattoos. Am I the only one?

I can't pass a mirror without stopping to look at my tattoos. I'm not vain.....I don't spend a lot of time on my hair and I shave when I feel like it so I look kinda scraggly (like Sam Elliot on a really bad day). But I spend way to much time examining my ink. Sometimes I love my tattoos and other times I look at them more critically. (This line is crooked... that area is shaded too dark.... I should get more added....it's too big now). I have to admit I'm slightly obessed with the damn things. Am I the only one with this sickness?

  • Why in the world would you let an amateur give you a home tattoo?

We have an ad in the paper advertising a position in the shop. One of the applicant's arms were covered in these really poorly drawn, horrible blue/green tattoos. (Looking at them made me want to poke my eyes out with a spoon) I almost asked him if he let his friends do dental work on him too.

Seriously .....why would anybody let a back alley scratcher ink them when there are so many fantastic tattoo artists out there? I have never seen a good home tattoo and you would think that the risks of getting a serious infection would be much greater in an uncontrolled setting. Why do so many people get crappy homemade tattoos?

  • Should there be laws against scratchers?

After all you will go to prison for doing dental work without a license, the same for doing medical procedures such as plastic surgery or abortions. Should unlicensed tattoo "artists" (and I use the word artist loosely) be prosecuted? And what do you think the punishment should be?
