My daughter and her husband have started an animal rescue sanctuary here in Tanger (Le Sanctuaire de la Faune de Tanger) and have recently rescued a female Barbary ape. Everything was fine at first and the ape (Sofie) was very sweet with everyone, but recently she has become extremely vicious towards my daughter, obviously vying for the attention of her husband. Today she has bitten my daughter very badly and she had to use a stick to get her to go away. If anyone has experience with monkeys we would be very grateful to know the alpha behaviour of a female so that my daughter can show Sofie where she stands. Thank you.

My daughter suffered from shingles three years ago since when she suffers atrocious pain in her back. She has been told the nerves have been damaged and that there is nothing that can be done for her. Is there any alternative treatment that could help?
