My father in law wishes to surrener his Green card Lawfully and apply for 10 year Tourist Visa?
My father in law is with us in US; he wishes to surrender his Green card lawfully and apply for 10 year Tourist Visa.
He is over 74, and he needs constant medical check up, the cost of which is prohibitive in US.
So he wants to go back to India where at reasonable cost he can do medical check up often.
He is diabetic.
1. If he surrenders his green card lawfully when he is in US, can he stay in US waiting for his Tourist Visa?
2. Can the surrender of Green Card and the submission of Application for Tourist Visa be at the same time?
3. If his Tourist Visa is rejected, how long he will be allowed to stay in US after that as he will be without Green card at that time.
4.As he intends to Abandon Green Card on health ground, what are his chances of getting 10 year Tourist Visa?
Kindly answer to all my doubts, Thanks

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy some Hindu Temples Prohibit men wearing Shirts/Upper Garment inside Sanctum ?
Indian President Ramaswami Venkataraman was blocked from entering the inner chamber of a Hindu temple because he and his guards were wearing shirts, it was reported Friday. The president and his bodyguards were visiting the Nataraja Temple in southern Tamil Nadu state on Thursday when the incident occurred, the Calcutta-based newspaper said. It said that although Venkataraman was willing to remove his shirt, as is customary at the shrine, he felt it would be "unbecoming" for his guards to do.

Is there any Scriptures prohibiting men wearing upper garments? Is ther any Temple Agama Sastra which prohibits men wearing shirts etc?

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy Ripe Cucumber is mentioned in Mahamrityunjaya mantra?
Om tryambakam yajaamahe
sugandhim pushthivardhanam;
Urvaarukamiva bandhanaan
Mrityormuksheeya maamritaat.
The literal meaning of the mantra is as follows: “We worship the three-eyed one (Lord Shiva) who is fragrant (in a state of supreme bliss), and who sustains all living beings. May he liberate us from (the eternal cycle of birth and) death. May he lead us to immortality, just as the ripe cucumber is released from its bondage (the vine to which it is attached).”
What is the spiritual significance of Cucumber in Mahamrityunjaya mantra ? Why not any other Creeper with fruit?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs there any restrictions on Hindu Brahmins breeding pets?
Is it true that scriptures prohibit Brahmins from breeding pets; one Pundit said that
“the main reason may be that Brahmins - men and women may have to forego valuable time of their duties - like doing sandhyavandanam, daily Puja and other household work for taking care of the pets; Not only that they may get more attached with the pets in due course of time than their duties and they may become like Jadabharatha.. The purpose of attaining Brahma Gnanam is of utmost importance and that will get diluted if pets become the centre of attraction in the house “;
Also he said Avani Aittam mantras contain specific mantras to remove the sin of breeding pet animals?
Will you enlighten me on this please?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhat is the ' Pariharam' to be done for not offering the whole body to Agni during final Rites?
Some Hindu may feel that by removing constituent parts of the body after death for organ donation ( before death or after death) may hinder the progress of the Aatmaan to the celestial realm.
Ved stipulate that in the Antyeshti Kriyaa the Paarthiv Shareer (corporeal body of the deceased) is entrusted to Agni as a complete offering.Garud Puraan tells us that even if Angushth Maatra (the size of a thumb) of the corporeal body remains unburnt, the disembodied soul (Pretaatmaa) will remain associated with it. Moreover one who does not obtain proper rites is condemned to perpetually remain a Pret (disembodied soul). Once again here is the evidence from scriptures.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIs there any reference in Hindu Dharma Sasthra that Human organ donation should be done when one is alive?
I need links from Hindu Dharma Sasthra about Human organ donation
Please also refer my earlier question in this regard
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjDO3...
Sons/Daughters, relatives and friends usually give consent to harvest the organs of brain dead persons; naturally the brain dead person is not aware of it.
The final rites include mantras offering the ‘Whole ‘physical body to Agni.
In such cases, the whole physical body is not offered to Agni.
Whether such organ donation by the brain dead person will not get any “palan”
Also whether such acts by the sons/ daughters/ relatives and friends is against the wishes of the dead person unless he has previously given consent in writing?
Please enlighten me on this, Thanks

4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoWhy the preset day young professional girls (South Indian Girls) put more conditions to Marry?
The trend has changed from subordination which was the rule some 50 years back to domination by the present day young professional girls while choosing their spouse.
Marriages can never be successful on conditions and demand, but this seems to be course adopted by most of the working girls in choosing their partner.
What is your view? Whether this trend is good for lasting marriages?
