  • Trade Newton for Welker, good trade?

I have romo as my other QB, this trade would make my WR ridiculous as I have C Johnson, and M Austin, I pretty sure I'm pulling the trigger anyone think I shouldn't take it? Thanks!

  • I have the first overall pick in my leagues draft next month, do I take Vick?

The league I'm in sets draft order to reverse order of standings. I finished last this past season (thanks a lot Randy Moss) so I have the first overall pick. The league scoring is same amount of points for passing td as rushing or recieving. Plus qb's get 1 point for every 20 yards passing. Basically it is qb heavy due to that scoring, so top q's go quick. I am debating between Rodgers and Vick, who would you take of those two?

  • Fiance and I broke up a few weeks ago, help?!?

We were together for almost six years and lived together for the last 4 (i just moved out)She was the one who initiated it but I wanted to break up too. Problem now is all the people we hung out with for the past few years are"her" friends. She tries to invite me to go out with them, but I simply can't be around her, hurts my heeling. So now not only have I lost her, so I'm single for the first time in 9 years (in a 3 year relationship that ended 2 months before this one started) but toads insult to injury I also have no friends.

I'm really struggling with self confidence and self esteem right now. I have no idea how to meet new people. Even worse I can't even picture myself talking to/meeting new people, help?!!!

  • How much weight will I need for dumbells?

I am 6' and weigh about 190. I haven't lifted weights in years but I regularly run a couple miles a day. I am looking at the bowflex dumbells and I don't know if the 50 lb ones would be enough, or if I would outgrow them. Do I need the ones that can go up to 90lb. I am not looking to get ripped, just tone up. I guess my question is if 50 lb max would be enough for me.

  • Who to start this weekend, M. Wallace or S. Holmes?

I need to choose between these two. Holmes has a slightly better matchup (@NE) but M Wallace has just been stellar except for last week. I think I'm leaning toward Holmes especially because I also am starting Mendenhall. Who of the two would you start?? Thanks!!

  • Fun, hidden things to do on Mackinac Island?

I grew up in northern Michigan so needless to say I have been to the Island many many times. I feel like I have pretty much seen and done everything there is to see and do. My girlfriend and I are heading there in a few weeks for a long weekend, does anyone know of any "hidden" fun things to do, not the typical tourist things?? Thanks!!!

  • Why won't Notre Dame just join the big ten?

The only thing I can think of is they like to play their easy football schedule (sure USC and Mich every year but other than that it is pretty much a cream puff). It's not money, they make 12 mill a year on their contract with NBC, each big ten member gets 22 mill a year for their revenue share. So it is just the tough schedule that is scaring ND off or what??

  • Serious question for christians, How do you reconcile changing practice?

I am not trying to anger anyone but was curious about something. If the word of god is infallible (at least that is my understanding of it) and he stated different sins how can man (not infallible) change those? For example, some churches have allowed the use of birth control. That seems contradictory of the fact that sex is only supposed to be used for procreation. Did people change the doctrine or was god mistaken?

Or maybe I am way off on this. Looking for some insight from the religious crowd around here as my understanding of religious doctrines if very limited.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Do you have a LEGAL argument against gay marriage?

The US Supreme Court has held that Marriage is a fundamental right (Loving v. Virginia). If something is a fundamental right the court must apply strict scrutiny. Strict scrutiny requires that the government has a compelling government interest in prohibiting the conduct. The restriction on the fundamental right (marriage in this case) must be narrowly tailored by the least restrictive means to further the compelling interest.

Please only legal arguments. What is the compelling GOVERNMENT (not religious) interest in prohibiting gay marriage? If you have a compelling interest can you come up with a way to tailor a law that would be least restrictive on the fundamental right to marriage?

Just curious on some legal thought on the matter. If this ever does get to the Supreme Court they will likely have to apply strict scrutiny so this will be the inevitable analysis.

  • If I said I was the son of god and born of a virgin mother would anyone believe me?

I am not trying to start a fight here. I am not saying that I am the son of god. I just find it an interesting question. If someone professes to be a god or the son of god today they are deemed crazy and we institutionalize them.

Are we just not as trusting as people back in the day when they believed Jesus or Muhammad? Or are we just more skeptical?

Just a thought, PLEASE, do not get angry, just looking for some other thoughts on this intriguing question.

  • Can you name the person with the quote?

    1. "Lighthouses are more useful than churches."

    2. "It would be the best of all possible worlds if religion were not in it."

This is from a recent documentary (that's your hint)

I guarantee that the mouths that spoke these words will surprise you!

If you do know who said these things does it surprise you?

  • In the context of corporate law can someone explain the concept of a poison pill? ?

I am in business associations right now and having a hard time with understanding the function of a poison pill. All I know is that it is a defensive mechanism to a takeover. Any further explanation would be great, Thanks in advance.
