  • Are vaccines from the Co-op safe?

I read somewhere that they do not work as well, or they arent safe...I cant remember. Is this true? My pets receive their vaccines from my vet, but someone I know is buying them at the co-op for her dog, and I just want to make sure they are safe.

  • How do you make yummy homemade granola bars? That kids will actually eat...?

My kids are SO picky. But, they absolutely love granola bars. I could put sand in them, and they would eat every last drop. But, I worry that they are too high in sugar, and not enough "good stuff'. So, how do you make homemade granola bars using things like oats, honey, possibly cheerios, raisins, and dried fruit?

Also, can you add fruit thats not dried? Like fresh blueberries? Or does everything have to be dried?

  • Looking for songs by females, with piano tell me your favorites!?

I notice I tend to prefer songs more and more by females, with minimal instruments. Its just usually a piano, or sometimes a guitar. So, what are your favorite female piano playing artists? I really like A Fine frenzy "Almost lover", Norah Jones, Ingrid Michaelson, etc. I would love to hear about others. Thanks in advance!

  • Would you sue a hospital?

My mother in law had her gallbladder removed two weeks ago at our County Hospital. She was released the next day, and told she would recover just fine. For days and days she complained of chest pain, and said she didnt feel right. Finally, four days after her surgery she asked my father in law to call 911 and an ambulance came and took her to the ER to try and find out why she couldnt breathe. She spent 5 days in the hospital and they NEVER even found out what was wrong with her, they did countless tests, and not to mention it costs a fortune to stay in the hospital for a week. Anyway, Friday she went to a walk in clinic told them the same thing she told the hospital when she went to the ER. The walk in lab did one simple test that the hospital didnt, and found out that during the surgery her bile duct had been nicked and she was leaking fluid into her body. She was sent back to the hospital, and has surgery this morning *countined below....*

  • My 5 year old cries over EVERYTHING...?

Well, since I'm in here asking for potty training advice, I should ask about my daughter too. She's 5 and a half. over the last 3-5 months, I have noticed she cries more, and more. Everything is so dramatic, and the end of the world. I wouldnt say she has tantrums, she just cries...like a baby. Tears, sniffling, runny nose and everything. She's always been a really mature, calm kid. All of a sudden now everything is the worst thing thats ever happened to her. Is this a phase? She says everyone hates her, and nobody is her friend, nobody loves me,etc. I have no idea where she is getting this from!! She's driving me insane, I have no idea how much longer I can take her crying. She had a meltdown in the Walmart parking lot today because my son came out of her side of my SUV first, instead of his own door. She cried all the way into the store. HELP! is there such a thing as the "Terrible Fives"?

  • Trouble getting 3 year old to #2 in the potty, HELP!?

    *warning-poop talk ahead!*

My three year old son is 100% pee potty trained, even standing! He just skipped right over wanting to sit down. He's been diaper free for two weeks now, no accidents. He even stays dry all night, and can wake up when he needs to go. Problem is, he will NOT poop on or even near the potty. He wont wear diapers, and I dont really want him too, but he will not poop! He actually held it for 5 days, until I had to give him a suppository today, and he finally pooped, while he slept. It was like he didnt even know he had done it. I guess he could no longer hold it. So, how do I get him to poop on the potty. I can tell when he has to go, and he says he doesnt, but I know he needs to. I try and make it fun, and even bribing him but he would rather go to sleep, then poop. What can I do? My daugher never did this! The last month, he has only pooped in his underwear, when he can absolutely NOT hold it anymore, how can I make him see its not that bad?

  • Anyone ever installed a front grille guard on an SUV?

I just got an 01' Nissan Xterra SE. It did not come with the front grill guard that I've seen on some. So, I found a few on ebay and it says its easy to install. But I was just wondering, if it really is pretty simple. Is this something my husband and I could do ourselves? Should it be done by professionals? This is the one I was looking at one ebay.

  • Housetraining advice?

We have a 12 week old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix puppy (NO I did not "buy" her, she was a rescue) She's the sweetest girl ever, but oh my gosh we are having the worst trouble with housetraining. She does really well sometimes. I take her out 10-12 times a day and she pees nearly every single time. If we are in the house, and I'm busy and dont see the signs 80% of the time she wil run to a puppy pad we have, and pee on it. But sometimes, for no apparent reason she will just pee somewhere. On a rug, on my tile floor, in my son's room. So, I treat and steam clean wherever she goes and she doesnt seem to ever go back to that spot, she'll just pick a new spot if she isnt using her pad. Ideally, I want her 100% outdoor potty trained, the pads are for every now and then, when I cant take her out as quick as she might need to go. So, any advice? She is crate trained for night time, and does great with that. Its just the housetraining we need help with!!

  • Why does my dog still smell?

I'm feeding her Iams, which was recommended by my vet. She is 100% healthy, she's spayed,Interceptor and Advantage Protected, no ear mites, no infections, no impacted anal glands, but she still stinks. Its not an overwhelming smell, but its defintely a "smell" if you pet her alot, your hands will smell like her. We have another dog, and she does not smell nearly the same as the other dog. She's about three if that matters. So, could this just be her own individual smell? It doesnt bother me, I just want to make sure its normal for some dogs to be more "fragrant" than others.

  • Fluid in 7 week old puppy's umbilical stump?

My 7.5 week old puppy, has what feels like fluid in her umbilical stump. Her whole "stump" is totally healed on the outside, but it protrudes out a little bit, and then there is the fluid or whatever is in there that bugs me. it just looks like an "outie" a little bump, where her cord used to be. I accidently pushed on it, and it went back inside her belly, which really freaked me out. Should I alert the vet about this, or is this not a big deal?

  • "Low Virtual Memory" on an 11 month old PC?

My computer is only 11 months old, and I'm getting a"Your computer is low on virtual memory. windows is increasing the size, during this time many memory applications may be denied" or something along those lines. WHY? It's only 11 months old! I never run two programs at once, and aside from my pictures and audio files, there is nothing really stored on my computer. Yahoo messenger, Chuzzle and Kodak Easyshare...thats it. Thats all that's on my computer. What can I do to stop this message? This is the same message I was getting on my last computer, right before it crashed so I'm kind of worried here. I checked and my virtual memory is set to 669.

  • Computer having problems displaying graphics?

I need some help with my PC, and I'm REALLY hoping there is another solution aside from restoring it to its original setting, because I have thousands of pictures on this computer, as well as hundreds of music files, and misc. documents that would be awful to go through all that, unless I have to.

Lately pictures, logos, graphics, etc are usually not loading correctly. They appear blurry, and I have to refresh. OR, they just show up like a negative picture (just outlines, etc.), or they are grey colored.

What's going on here?!?! I ran a scan today, no viruses. I have Windows XP, Compaq Presario.

  • Computer problem?

My computer is having some serious issues displaying things. First off, the last week it's been taking forever. I keep getting this "script error page" message when I sign online, and graphics, and pictures either load all blurry, and I have to refresh...or they display all grey colored. What's going on here! The computer is a year old in January, Compaq Presario. Calling Compaq is a LAST resort. Any ideas?

  • Dog wandering away when off of leash!?

We have a two year old dog, who was a stray we found almost two months ago. She is the BEST dog, except for the fact that as soon as the door opens, or she's off her leash..she's gone. She's part beagle and its like her nose takes over and she just darts off on a scent trail. We yell and yell for her, but its like she goes deaf when normally she listens VERY well. I'd like to be able to take her out into our large safe unfenced yard, have her go do her business and then return inside with me. She's really good on a leash, she stays right with you, I want her to do this all the time...even when she's just walking with me. How can I get her to stay with us, and not dart off when she smells something?

  • Help identifying an old camera?

I recently acquired an old camera. Its a Kodak camera, with its leather box. Its black, and siver. When you open it up, the inside says Kodak Compur Kodak Anastigmat 13.5cm No 1087677. Stamped on the carrying strap is the number 33, and inside there is a small gold plate that says Kodak A.G. Dr. Nagel-Werk Stuttgart Made in Germany, but a part on the outside, says made in the US. On the bottom of the brown leather box, is stamped "Case made in USA by Eastman Kodak Co." rochester N.Y.

Any ideas, as to the age, or value of this? Its still in good condition, some outside damage, but it doesnt seem to be missing any parts.

  • symptoms after having a 9 week old kitten wormed?

My mom's kitten is 9-10 weeks old. She was taken to the vet last Sat. to be wormed, and have her first shots. A few days later, she vomited, and hasnt really been eating that much since then. She hardly cleans herself anymore, and has been VERY clingy. I have three cats myself, so I know how they can be...but this girl is just meowing nonstop, climbing all over everyone..and she wasnt like this a week ago. She goes back a week fom today for the second round of shots, so she was going to ask them vet then but I thought I would ask here first, incase there is anything she can do in the meantime to get this little girl back to her normal self. Any ideas on why she's suddenly so different? Could this be something serious? *no diarrhea at this point, just vomiting twice, and is very clingy, and vocal all of a sudden. She is using the litter box ok, but she was having terrible gas the other day(no diet change)
